Seems to be some suggestion that it's as a result of the reaction to her blog post criticising Posie.

Please note, cheesy biscuits has left now deleted disgusting remarks about Jean on another thread. Don’t feed this.

Dragon3 · 28/01/2019 15:57

No explanation necessary Jean. Anyone can see that you are a woman of integrity. Nobody is obliged to do anything that sits badly with their conscience. Women have opinions and you stuck to yours. Concentrate on staying very well. Flowers

The divide and conquer hand being overplayed by new names on this thread, I see.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 16:00

Hi Cheesybiscuits and GirlsTalk

welcome to MN

I see you joined today and have only posted on threads singling out specific GC women. it's almost like you're drawn by the drama!

Why don't you dial down the accusations and stick around to talk about actual issues instead? that's mostly what we do here. you wouldn't know that, what with being new

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 16:01

The word pattern is interesting. I think we have to take politelygiveszerofucks and cheesybiscuits and girltalk at face value. If you dare to speak freely as a woman, this is what they deem to be appropriate, they are stating clearly why and what the purpose is. Seems to me to show that that blog post jean wrote was entirely necessary so thanks to the three of you for clarifying for those who were not clear on why she did it. Did you think you were refuting her post by demonstrating it? Nope.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 16:01

and yes, I stand with Jean AND Posie

women are allowed to disagree, it's fine

Flowers for both

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 16:02

This isn’t a Twitter feud.

Taking an internet break is an excellent idea when things get too much. I’m not attacking that.

But the behaviour being exhibited is odd. There’s no shame in taking a break because it’s taking a toll on your mental health. Twitter & these boards can be brutal.

But it’s weird to delete your account because you need to step away from conflict and then create yet more conflict/drama on a different platform with similar levels of traffic and debate.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 28/01/2019 16:04

The entitlement of those who stir the pot on an issue that has nothing to do with them is telling- it’s nobody’s business except Jeans and Posies

Headline - women express different opinions so hang one of them /s

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 16:06

To be fair, it was aired publicly so became our business. I think it’s ok to say, look I wouldn’t have gone about it publicly or the exact way Jean did... but to draw conclusions the way some have re motivation, is unfair and I don’t think it’s true. People change their minds. People need support so they write publicly and then maybe regret it. It’s ok. None of us are perfect or need to be.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 16:08

Fair enough Oxy. But I just go back to the original point that nobody knew that Jean was going on this trip until she announced it.

And my God. The damage she has done. So I think anger is justified.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 16:08

yes, it's only a problem if we start giving in to the demands to excommunicate women

we're a broad church. that's a good thing

I do understand anger or frustration at the perceived drawing away of attention from important events.

I would like to, genuinely and politely, suggest anyone criticising that’s new here, to read other threads. Look at our discussions over the weekend, the conclusions and agreements, and disagreements... then perhaps just let it go. Both women must be struggling with the negative attention. We’ve got much more important things to move on to, right?

Cheesybiscuits · 28/01/2019 16:13

Well then maybe Jean should have kept it beween her and Posie and not released her blog when she knew they couldn't respond. Jean is not a stupid woman, she knew what this would do.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 16:14

what Oxytocindeficient said

we're not a hive mind

different views are fine

Pig sick of brand new people coming on here to lay down the law according to them.

GirlsTalk · 28/01/2019 16:15

Hi, BernardBlacksWineIceLolly, thank you. Yes I did join today (have been GC for some time and recently found out about Mumsnet and FWR, have been neglecting my work reading lots of threads). And yes, I admit I am drawn by this drama. I greatly admire both Posie Parker and Jean Hatchet.

I didn’t mean to be accusatory or divisive, and I am surprised at that. Or divide and conquer. And Lisa Muggeridge, ‘indulging in this behaviour’? I disagreed with you calling someone ‘utterly batshit’.

But I will take Oxydeficient’s advice and leave it at that: Posie Parker and Jean Hatchet do absolutely do great work.

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 16:17

GirlsTalk just FYI in case you’re not aware, there’s been an influx of new accounts making accusations and smearing Jean today, hence our defensiveness. Thank you for considering what I had to say. Read the original Jean Blog post, you’ll see we are a reasonable bunch most of the time and hopefully learn a bit there. Welcome

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 16:18

I hate to upset anyone but I have to go the supermarket and get eggs for ice cream. We are making rum and raisin today. Dont tell sproglet she thinks we are only making mint choc chip. Which makes me heave.

What women did last year and will do this year is brilliant, thankfully we got a demonstration fairly quick of the dangers of social media organisation and idolatry.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 28/01/2019 16:18

There’s an influx of not in good faith posters - we see you

FlyingOink · 28/01/2019 16:18

I just go back to the original point that nobody knew that Jean was going on this trip until she announced it
Is this true?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 16:19

Thanks for being so reasonable GirlsTalk, and what Oxytocindeficient said (again)

welcome!

womanformallyknownaswoman · 28/01/2019 16:20

Personal attacks are not a good look - as any regular user knows

GirlsTalk · 28/01/2019 16:21

Oxy, thank you, I will go off and do some more reading.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 16:22

Yes FlyingOink - it was not widely known. Did you know Jean was going?
