I think so, too. Bad as these pageants are, they are apparently (I watched a documentary) closed to everyone but the girls' accompanying family (mostly mums and siblings), plus moderators, jurors and whatever staff there is needed - not whoever pays up to watch. So, that kind of limits, who can get gratification out of it. Even though I have some theories about jurors and moderators involved in this type of stuff.
