Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

Lily is back to writing utter nonsense. I'm struggling to see any difference between Lily and the MomentumSurbiton parody account in terms of relation to reality, except that the latter might have more internal consistency.

Um... OK. So LM is not trans now?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/01/2019 15:15

My head hurts. It’s like deviating with a small child. Or a parrot.

Well, at least LM doesn't need to worry about the transition fund now. Think of all the good that money could do.

dillydallyXX · 04/01/2019 15:37

Slight tangent, but it's amusing that Madigan is at Goldsmiths. It's hardly a great uni, and even before universities started offering incentives to student to enrol, thus lowering the bar, it was pretty easy to get into.

And if you read the Politics degree modules they are very lame. And this costs £9000 per year. I can't see how Madigan will ever have a career - they are already unemployable.

I used to live down the road from Goldsmiths. I'm rather relieved that I moved.

beenandgoneandbackagain · 04/01/2019 15:50

Don't be mean about Goldsmiths - they're politics course is ranked 64th (out of 83) Hmm

@ClaraMatilda

Grin

Thanks for that, it made me laugh because it gets more ridiculous by the day.
They even have an LM thread over at Kiwi Farms, where someone posted an LM Tweet where LM stated that they do not have XY chromozomes.

dillydallyXX · 04/01/2019 16:32

I'd never heard of Kiwi Farms until now - and I just looked at the Madigan thread. It's completely unfiltered and non-PC, it's hilarious.

What on earth must Madigan's parents and youngest sister think? Where is this going to end? It is insanity.

Trans Rights Activists attack Mumsnet but ignore Kiwi Farms.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/01/2019 18:45

What is/are kiwi farms. I’m too chicken to google it.

GiantKitten · 04/01/2019 19:19

The Kiwi Farms thread on Madigan is a whole other level. Numerous photos of Madigan and their family, Madigan's crazy Twitter history, and very unfiltered posts.

But, but, but - why does Madigan imply that all criticism comes from so-called "terfs"? Do they not realise that a significant number of men are repulsed by them too?

Because they misogynistically believe women are a soft target I imagine.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 04/01/2019 19:55

Because they misogynistically believe women are a soft target I imagine.

But I wonder if on some level they also find us scarier because we're so much closer to mainstream? I don't know what Kiwi Farms' figures are like but look at how many women read these threads. And politicians. And journalists.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 04/01/2019 19:58

KayM said something very shrewd on a thread a while back; that women pointing out the emperor is naked triggers a 'mummy doesn't love us' reaction.

And I agree, MN is mainstream and much harder to write off as 'extreme' and 'unrepresentative'.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 04/01/2019 20:01

I've always thought Kay had a point; there have been plenty of posts to the effect of 'but you're supposed to just talk about prams' (rather like your teenager freaking out that you're a person who has sex and a life apart from them) and 'mothers are supposed to be nurturing!'

hackmum · 04/01/2019 20:05

That Kiwi Farms thread doesn't pull any punches, does it? Much much crueller than we'd be allowed to get away with.

But LM is a coward. Much easier to bully Mumsnet into compliance than to take on Kiwi Farms. Those guys would eat LM for breakfast.

dillydallyXX · 04/01/2019 20:09

Knicknackpaddyflak - are you Kay?

OP posts:
Knicknackpaddyflak · 04/01/2019 20:34

No, KayM is a MN regular.

dillydallyXX · 04/01/2019 20:38

Knicknackpaddyflak - As you know, I meant "are you Kay?"

Omg I have spent 2 days reading the yaniv thread on kiwi farms. Now I know there is a Lily thread I may not be seen for some time.
Also reading Tommy tooter thread which is not pleasant reading at all.
Dipped into a few others and I Can See I will be busy for a while. It's such grim reading tho.
