It's on Twitter.

Thankfully the police in the location they have described their friend with the details of this assault are looking into it

Debbie Hayton getting flack for speaking the truth in their reply (saw it from following Debbie)

It's a story for people who want to believe, and don't mind binning their critical thinking in order to do so.

ShotsFired · 24/10/2018 14:33

2. She's not trans, but she has a translesbian girlfriend.

So, a man, then?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 24/10/2018 14:35

The people who pretend to believe this stuff - why??

I reckon because

  1. It props up their world view. Their world view is vulnerable because it is based on a whole load of falsehoods and flaws in logic and hence comes with a lot of cognitive dissonance, so they are more desperate than normal to have it confirmed and thus will clutch at anything that seems to
  1. They are quite young and naive.
Many of us have a fair amount of horse sense about the way victims and attackers behave. We didn't get this magically as part of the feminine essence, it is learned through experience over the course of our lives. So it stands to reason that a 20 year old who has been getting this shit from men for around 10 years is going to have significantly less idea about what is likely than a 50 year old who has been getting it for 4 times as long. Many women will have been seriously assaulted before they are 20. By the time they are 50, an awful lot more have.
Yambabe · 24/10/2018 14:42

The person who was attacked has verified that it actually happened but she didn't report it as she had had negative experiences with the police in the past.

I'm not going to link as I see no reason to spread her details all around the internet. She describes herself as a "vagina-haver" though Sad

I hope she's OK. Still not sure what the link to GC feminists is though.

Yambabe · 24/10/2018 14:43

Ok let me amend that. She's confirmed that something happened, no details. Not about to ask her about the vagina-flashing!

nauticant · 24/10/2018 14:45

Where did she make her confirmation of the event (whatever it was)?

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 24/10/2018 14:48

@Yambabe it's really sad isn't it

This friend has not only been a victim of a sexual assault

They have also been forced into speaking to police within 24 hours of the attack happening when they are mistrustful of the police

They have been not believed by MANY

They have been called a liar by MANY

They have been laughed at for how they responded to the attack by MANY

They have had the anger directed not at the male attacker but at themselves and other women who fear male violence by MANY

And they have a shit friend they turned to who chose to ignore the victim in favour of twitter fame

Right, so, when I come home last night from my big job day trading and shagging hundreds of girls a day, there was this huge bear in my front room, and he was like sitting there all growly, and he was like 'I'm gonna eat you' and I was like 'nevvah' and he was like 'Yeh, I'm gonna eat you' and I was like 'naaaaaa', and I got my ballistic missile out of my pocket and killed him and I was like 'what was thaaaat?'

True story🤔

JillyArmeeen · 24/10/2018 14:50

It's her choice not to report it.
That area is close to two universities and the police should be given the chance to investigate if there is a knife wielding man around specifically targeting women.

Yambabe · 24/10/2018 14:57

She's on the twitter feed so you can link back. I think she muted or hid her account for a while but she's back now, saying she's sick of dealing with bile from TERFS.

She seems to be implying that she was accosted/assaulted/whatever happened because she is a tall, muscular butch lesbian who often gets mistaken for a man.

I'm still trying to work out where the hatred for women who are mostly concerned for her wellbeing comes from and how it was women's fault that a bloke did something to her though.

HomeStar · 24/10/2018 14:59

It does sound oddly like a story that might have been made up by someone who thinks "cis privilege" is a real thing, and who is completely unfamiliar what it is really like to live in the world as a woman.

But perhaps it's true, and it's just an unfortunate coincidence that such a strange event has been brought to the attention of the world by exactly the sort of person who is most likely to have invented it.

nauticant · 24/10/2018 15:00

Thanks. It's still bizarre though and I'm going to continue to be skeptical.

OlennasWimple · 24/10/2018 15:00

Well, my vagina is a wonderous thing that would leave even the most drunk and angry man backing away in awe Wink

(There is also a Leicester in Massachusetts and in NY State BTW)

Trogdor · 24/10/2018 15:01

shotsfired, you are so right! I can give tours of my weaponised vag, including a shot of my cervix, which is actually a gun, doncha know.

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 24/10/2018 15:04

@OlennasWimple the pathetic excuse for a friend already tweeted that the victim is in the UK

Which is why they can't support her and must post on Twitter instead

Sure it happened love, now I'm just going to return to my job as an underwater sea turtle wrangler and part time dry land snorkeling instructor....

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 24/10/2018 16:01

Of course it's still not the mans fault. It's now the city council's fault too

I don't think Nelly is at all concerned about transpeople. I think they're a troll don't ban me mumsnet, twitter troll

Is that the worst web cam advert evah or is it subtle genius that is reaching out to a very niche market?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 24/10/2018 16:08

If you look at Nelly's twitter page, she has a Patreon. I don't think she's trolling in the sense of causing trouble, I think she's just after clicks to get more retweets and thus hopefully more money.

Feminist4 · 24/10/2018 16:14

How can this cause so much vitriol. She was just pointing out that trans women often have a hard time and the arguments that they have ‘male’ privilege, which is rife on the boards, is false. If I were a trans woman I would feel the same way.

53rdWay · 24/10/2018 16:19

Wrong thread, Feminist4? Also possibly wrong feminism.

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 24/10/2018 16:20

@Feminist4 I sincerely hope I have misunderstood you... ?! surely exploiting victims of sexual assault is not an appropriate way to "just point out that transwomen have a hard time too"

I read the original tweet from a transwoman (Debbie) who I follow who has written an excellent article in the spectator and shared how it is directly harming transwomen to destroy the relationship between women and transwomen with self ID if anyone cares to read the feelings of a transwoman

OP posts:
Feminist4 · 24/10/2018 16:25

One trans woman in a right-wing rag does not represent the transgender community. It is only destroying the relationship between trans women and women because some women have chosen that to happen.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/10/2018 16:30

I wonder what a man would have to do to a woman for Nell to consider him responsible for his actions. Is there any scenario in which blame wouldn't fall on some other, non-man entity?
