TG day of remembrance

When did 20 November become the transgender Day Of Remembrance?

Is there an International Women's Day of Remembrance? We bloody well need to get onto it given the numbers of us who are actually killed every single day. And given that the majority of women who are murdered are killed by men, that's anti-women (adult human female, to be clear - and that's not exclusionary, trans women don't want to be included anyway, they've made their own day they can't now complain about not being in ours).

And I do hope that they'll be remembering the trans people killed by other trans people. Because there are a fair few of them too.

White ribbon day does, yes it was set up by men. Perhaps some women could look into setting up their own if they’re not happy with that.

Violence against women and girls is a big problem. White Ribbon UK asks men to step up and become part of the solution. For 16 days starting November 25th, thousands of people across the UK will wear a white ribbon, and take a stand against violence.

That is 16 days. Trans people deserve their day. It’s ridiculous that anyone would even try and argue against that. I’d love to see the reaction if men came on MN and said we didn’t deserve a woman’s rememberance day because we’re only doing it for manipulating the public.

Earlywalker I didn't know abut white ribbon day - thank you

so Perhaps some women could look into setting up their own if they’re not happy with that. was a bit unnecessary and women have set up many things to remember women, as they should.

As I said previously I have no problem with anyone having a day of remembrance for their people/community. I don't see this as connected to the issues of self ID etc.

The drama has started on Twitter by the Womens and Equalities Commission no less.

Lest we forget eh!

Today is a day to avoid social media.

Plus Transgender day of remembrance has been a thing since 1998. Keep your bigotry to yourself while we mourn our trans siblings

Soo, Sawyer99, now your day has ended can we think about the many women whose lives are blighted and even ended by male violence? And what sort of society we will have if men can just declare themselves women , how that will make women feel safe and be able to reach our full potential? My feeling is that they're mutually exclusive. But you probably already guessed that.
