Rachel McKinnon has tweeted that Rachel has taken the women's 200m indoor cycling world record.

It makes me so angry for the women who have trained so hard to have to compete against male bodied athletes.

Thanks FT. I get confused by all the double speak going on. On the one hand there are people saying that transwomen can compete if their testosterone is lowered, and on the other there are some people arguing that transwomen don't have an advantage from high testosterone at all.

nah the testicle thing was a joke. I have no evidence but i do suspect Rachel has had an orchiectomy. That's the level of surgery that most men consider to be 'reassignment' surgery from what I can tell, given the 80% keeping their cocks stat.

On the r/cycling page, cyclists are saying McKinnon’s made no medical changes at all, he’s fully intact with full male T levels.

Is no professional body checking this stuff? I think the current rules around testosterone levels are laughable and ignore all other advantages but surely someone should at least be upholding the rules that are in place.

Apparently trans women competing with natal females is no different to a 6'4" female volleyball player competing against a 5'4" female volleyball player. It's just a physical advantage like any other and banning trans women from competing with natal women would be a human rights violation, the same as banning very tall women from competing with shorter women.

They also insist that it's not just about testosterone, it's far more complicated than that, as if that's a good thing. Of course it's not just about T-levels! It's about larger body mass, respiratory function, average height, muscle mass and so much more.

The third place cyclist has tweeted that it isn’t fair. She’s going to take an enormous amount of shit for this for being unsportsmanlike- but I really hope this is going to be the start of a push back in sport. The second place gal is supporting Rachel - probably fearing team condemnation.

Bloody hell their grasp on reality is very poor. Why are there mens and womens sports in the first place if this is true? Oh I forgot, the magic word 'trans' changes everything (apart from actual physical reality as evidenced by the race results). The emperor truly has no clothes.

I think to stop all this back and forth between women and trans woman their should just be trans only sports, toilets or prisons. Its not isolating anyone it just keepingeveyone happy
