Transwoman takes women's world record

Rachel McKinnon has tweeted that Rachel has taken the women's 200m indoor cycling world record.

It makes me so angry for the women who have trained so hard to have to compete against male bodied athletes.

so the next woman who came along 10 minutes later and beat that time was trans too? otherwise what is the point in this thread because this woman is clearly not the best at this sport by a long way granted she is better than most of us but int that how sport is

Iused2BanOptimist · 13/10/2018 22:24

I don't know anything about gym workouts and pause squats but I'm pretty sure 275 pounds would flatten me.

'McKinnon believes subjecting trans women to testosterone blocking violates their human rights.'

"Focusing on performance advantage is largely irrelevant because this is a rights issue."

In the same article she compares allowing trans women to compete without any restrictions on testosterone levels to desegregation of competitive sport.

"I bet a lot of white people were pissed off when we desegregated sports racially and allowed black people. But they had to deal with it.”

Is that not 20 stone? Shock

Iused2BanOptimist · 13/10/2018 22:34

Yes, it's just shy of twenty stone!

"she is better than most of us"

I'm going to be generous and assume that the "us" to which you refer is you, McKinnon and anyone else who shares objective biological sex characteristics with the two of you, Bespin.

Because for those of us with two XX chromosomes, a uterus, ovaries, female pelvis, female cardiovascular capacity, female skeletal structure and musculature, there is no "US" with the dickandballsandXY gang, none whatsoever, sorry about that.

And unless McKinnon's feminine essence was powering the pedals I think we're free to conclude this is a case of a big fat cheater.

here is a video of a 125lb woman doing exactly the same thing infact twice.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 14/10/2018 00:00

Ah, the brave new world of women's sport!

Over on ye olde Twitter, Engender Scotland who are big cool girl cheer leaders for self ID currently are having the effrontery to ask for questions on all the marvellous stuff they are doing for women and girl's sport.

Presumably by opening it up to boys and making sure girls don't pull muscles by trying to compete.

Please throw them some more questions!

Isn't this the plot of a Futurama Episode?

Bender turns into a Fembot to compete in the robo-olympics. That was aired in 2003.. I don't think it was designed to be an inspirational episode.

ContentiousOne · 14/10/2018 00:16

McKinnon hasn't, because McKinnon is a cheat.

ParentsOfSummer · 14/10/2018 06:40

Could the actual women not just get motorbikes that identify themselves as bicycles? If it just had a sign that says "motorbikes are bicycles" and maybe has some pedals stuck to the handlebars to make it post - op?

... We've got to be more inclusive people Grin

TigsytheTiger · 14/10/2018 06:44

The irony of quoting the Olympic committee rules of fair play and not seeing there is nothing fair in men competing against women!

Also slightly wearing to listen to the first five minutes of me, me, me and all my expertise to justify telling you how to think! Can do that by myself love, ta.
