I have just completed the online consultation.

Thank you to fairplayforwomen for the helpful guidance.

Once I got going I typed rather a lot!

It didn't take too long.

THERES ONLY A WEEK LEFT!!!

Do it today.

(Sorry can't link as I'm on my phone which keeps playing up!

OP posts:
Steppedonalego · 18/10/2018 18:47

Completed and submitted the day before yesterday- forgot to post that I'd done it on here!

FermatsTheorem · 18/10/2018 18:53

I may have to go for one-click. I've been struggling for the last two days to finish it, but it keeps crashing on me. (Like WomaninBoots, I would much prefer to fill it in myself, but the inadequate tech may mean I'm unable to... grrr...)

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 18/10/2018 18:58

Yes I've completed it!

Chocolala · 18/10/2018 19:05

Almost done

Annandale · 18/10/2018 19:17

@xiaoxang i ended up feeling that my responses could be seen both as gc and properly pro trans. I doubt many would agree. I ended up saying, clearly the gra doesn't work for anybody, its clunky restrictive and enables a legal fiction that can restrict women and men's rights to single sex spaces - so repeal the bloody thing already and make the problem go away. State that biological sex is fixed, that nobody needs anyone else's permission or approval to live or love as they see fit, and let freedom reign. I truly believe it all.

FuriousFifties · 18/10/2018 19:26

Why do I always leave things to the last minute, I started this morning and now can't get back on.
Ds has used the the one click, dh is doing is tonight too...hopefully

DamnCommandments · 18/10/2018 19:36

I've done it, but mostly by ignoring the actual questions. The problem isn't self-id for GRCs - it's what they're used for. There has to be a better way to keep trans people safe from violence and harassment than erasing their history (by changing their birth certificates). Sex is not gender.

MsBeaujangles · 18/10/2018 19:53

Phew. Tis done. It took many weeks of dipping in and out, revising and refining, but I finally submitted it.

This post is a bump and to encourage others with partially completed submissions to find some time and stamina for the final push!

Redkeyboard · 18/10/2018 19:56

Fermats have you tried doung it in a word doct then cut and paste?

You are very eloquent and knowledgeable it would be a shame to miss a personal response

OldCrone · 18/10/2018 20:04

I wrote mine out then did a cut and paste into the online form. Took ages just to do the c&p because the site was so slow, but at least I knew if it crashed I wouldn't lose what I'd written.

On p.5 of the consultation document they say they will accept submissions by email. The email given is the same one as for enquiries, so I don't think it's the preferred option, but it's an option if the website isn't behaving.

JolieColombe · 18/10/2018 20:14

Finally finished! Don't think I've seen a webpage load that slowly since dial-up days in the 90s.

RiotAndAlarum · 18/10/2018 20:15

Done! I used a combo of Fair Play and WPUK guidance, plus background gleaned from MN. Thanks so much to all the posters who have exposed these issues to sunlight. Flowers

BeepBeepTheresaSheep · 18/10/2018 20:23

Filled in via the link on the first page of this thread, took leas than 5 minutes

NewWomensMovement · 18/10/2018 20:41

Finished and in! Yay!

That took ages over a number of days. Lets hope someone bothers reading it. I really put a lot of thought and work into it.

ClocheEncounter · 18/10/2018 20:43

@JolieColombe for you (and everyone else waiting for the page to load): the Dial-Up Days:

NewWomensMovement · 18/10/2018 20:55

Grin - I had two copies open on two tabs so I could copy across what I had written and submit each page twice so that I didn't lose anything if a page failed to load.

AugustL · 18/10/2018 20:55

Never posted on here before. Filling the consultation in, been doing it over the last week or so on and off, losing the will to live. Waiting for the next page to load. I think it's open until midnight tomorrow, is that right? Think I read that somewhere...

NewWomensMovement · 18/10/2018 20:59

No I think it is until 11 am tomorrow morning.

Better stick at it - or do it by email :)

Trinity1976 · 18/10/2018 21:01

Clucking bell, the consultation is being slow this evening. I've completed most of it, just need to add a bit at the end, but cannot get through all the pages!

oneWeirdReSister · 18/10/2018 21:01

11pm tomorrow night.

JolieColombe · 18/10/2018 21:02

Lol Cloche, that took me back!

boatyardblues · 18/10/2018 21:07

I have been messaged this evening by 2 people I sent links to who have submitted today. Yay!

boatyardblues · 18/10/2018 21:08

There’s probably a smoking server somewhere after the last couple of days’ more balanced coverage.

littlecabbage · 18/10/2018 21:10

Oh god, it's ridiculously slow, aaaagh!

But I will persevere. Filling in the whole thing myself thanks to everything I've learnt in the past few weeks from Mumsnet! Grin

Beesandfrogsandfleas · 18/10/2018 21:11
