In response to that creep Harrop:

So Dawn Butler feels no need to attend on behalf of her constituents, some of whom might rather wish her to attend?

OK...

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/10/2018 10:15

Transphobic hate groups
Get a fucking grip

Callmejudith · 10/10/2018 10:17

This is absolutely disgusting.

merrymouse · 10/10/2018 10:18

It’s great that people called James and Adrian are around to tell the Shadow Women’s minister how to behave and speak on her behalf.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 10:20

ah

so Dawn Butler feels no compunction to act on behalf of some of the people who vote for her?

good to know

Threewheeler1 · 10/10/2018 10:25

Now that Adrian is leading the charge, there'll be no getting past him. Self-appointed gatekeeper of the gender/sex non-debate.
Dawn still thinks she doesn't need to listen to women so, you know, shut up women.
Honestly, the language - "transphobic hate group" - talk about kicking up dust, it's beyond any reasoning.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2018 10:25

so Dawn Butler feels no compunction to act on behalf of some of the people who vote for her?

Or used to vote for her...

OvaHere · 10/10/2018 10:26

Well if she did attend I suppose she might lose out on future paid trips to LA. Which would be a terrible shame.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 10:29

Oh come on Ova

I'm sure someone blowing £14,000 on showing Dawn Butler the bright lights of LA and taking her to a prominent trans award ceremony has had no impact whatsoever on any decisions she has made since then

stop being so cynical

Knicknackpaddyflak · 10/10/2018 10:35

So the Labour Shadow MP for women is anti women, supports anti women activism, and is homophobic.

Got it. Thanks for confirming, Dawn.

Elephantinacravat · 10/10/2018 10:37

so Dawn Butler feels no compunction to act on behalf of some of the people who vote for her?

Exactly.

I live in quite a Conservative area and my male MP is one of your typical, youngish, businessy, out for himself most of the time Tory types.

He can't go to the meeting but the reply email I received said he 'certainly understood' my concerns and the concerns of other women and he would be keeping an eye on developments re: the GRA.

Now, Im not under any illusions that he is a huge feminist or anything, but at least he is making it sound like he gives the smallest of fucks about the women of his constituency. Which is more than can be said for Labour and Dawn Butler.

As a woman, I know who I feel more listened to by.

heresyandwitchcraft · 10/10/2018 10:39

Adrian cannot be one of Dawn's constituents...

Dawn is meant to be shadow secretary for WOMEN.
Absolutely disgraceful if she refuses to even meet with WOMEN.
What does she think will happen? She'll get a papercut from the informative material? She might gain a fuller picture of the actual issues at hand?
It upsets me so much that she would take the word of this dictatorial MAN who has no business inserting himself in anything to do with WOMEN.

Elephantinacravat · 10/10/2018 10:39

Harrop isn't even in her constituency so why is she so keen to please him?

bigKiteFlying · 10/10/2018 10:42

So the Labour Shadow MP for women is anti women, supports anti women activism, and is homophobic.

Sadly I'm unsurprised - though as Elephantinacravat says you’d expect them to at least do the actual politian bit of sounding like the give a fuck.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/10/2018 10:44

This, for me, is the tipping point between 'no longer voting for labour' and 'actively campaigning against them.'

Women wanting to keep their rights is hate. Yeah ok Dawn.

Needmoresleep · 10/10/2018 10:46

Harrop isn't even in her constituency so why is she so keen to please him?

Presumably because she is an avid follower of him and his alter egos on twitter, and thinks he is just fab.

OvaHere · 10/10/2018 10:46

Yes, my bad Bernard I'm sure the award from GLAAD had nothing to do with it. Right minded politicians could never be bought so cheaply.

LangCleg · 10/10/2018 10:54

Never replied to my communications about women and equalities when I was a member of the Labour Party, did you, Dawn?

Not that I'd expect much. The Labour front bench is devoid of talent as exemplified by Dawn. Not the brightest.

Needmoresleep · 10/10/2018 10:59

Seriously though, it is starting to look as if the chances of kicking GRA reforms into the long grass will be highest if the Tories are reelected. I even thought of trying to join my local party, to push towards a moderate position on this and other things, but discovered it was tiny and off-putting.

At this rate I might even be relieved that Ulster Unionists rather than the LibDems hold the balance of power. FFS, who does represent us.

Needmoresleep · 10/10/2018 11:01

Actually posted too soon. My thinking behind joining the Tories was to vote against Penny Mordaunt in any leadership election. But I am not sure I can do it.

littlbrowndog · 10/10/2018 11:02

How is it possible that this woman an mp for women with that position when a man shouts jump she says how high ?
She should resign as she is not doin* the job she has been paid to do
What a disgrace she is
Bowing down to a man

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 11:05

it is starting to look as if the chances of kicking GRA reforms into the long grass will be highest if the Tories are reelected

oh yes

it would be a disaster for women if Labour were to win the general election which I believe to be coming soon

it remains to be seen if I have to stomach to vote Tory

I spoiled my ballot in the local elections

thatdamnwoman · 10/10/2018 11:12

This, for me, is the tipping point between 'no longer voting for labour' and 'actively campaigning against them.'

Off to see my Labour female MP on Saturday with a formal request that she attend on the 16th. I'm going to take a copt of that Tweet with me and if she says no or makes excuses I, who have never voted anything but Labour in 40 years, will tell her that from now on I'm going to actively persuade every woman I know not to vote Labour. She has a small majority. I hope she'll listen.

Iused2BanOptimist · 10/10/2018 11:21

He charges on.

Dawn Butler, Shadow MP for WOMEN, has doubled down on her hatred.
Dawn Butler, Shadow MP for WOMEN, has doubled down on her hatred.
Tinlegs · 10/10/2018 11:22

The most effective thing would be for DB's constituents to write to her and to ask her to go - directly referencing the fact that she is doing what she is told by someone who is not in her constituency (is he a member of Labour even?). Yet, she is not even prepared to listen to the concerns of women who she is elected to represent by her constituents and appointed to represent by her party.

Disgusting woman.
