I feel really sad that Alison has been pressured in this way. It reminds me of the time that Salman Rushdie, in hiding from the fatwa, decided to convert to Islam in the hope that they would get off his case. It didn't work, of course.

(I had a tiny taste of this a few years back when I made the mistake of submitting a reader comment to the Graun in my own name, on a relatively minor feminist life-work balance issue - I got absolutely monstered BLT by the lefty woke dude-brocialists who couldn't bear a woman saying "you know what, no-one ever asks men these questions". I spent a couple of weeks waking up in the middle of the night with panic attacks. I can only imagine how utterly terrifying and genuinely threatening it must feel to be on the receiving end of a full-on TRA pile on.)

Many women have seen this first hand so we do understand the visceral nature of it. In time we can find the strength to look the abusers in the eye and see them for what they are and strip them of their power.

I think this document was linked to earlier in the thread but here is a link to the full PDF text. It states that some (an undefined number) males sought gender reassignment because they recognised that a female presentation would give them easier intimate access to children.

I had a good look at this last night, and no, he hasn't said anything GC or in support of Glinner - it was a big "fuck off" to someone with "fox" in their name who wanted a group of comedians to denounce Glinner as a transphobe.
