We urge Stonewall to acknowledge that there are a range of valid viewpoints around sex, gender and transgender politics, and to acknowledge specifically that a conflict exists between transgenderism and sex-based women’s rights. We call on Stonewall to commit to fostering an atmosphere of respectful debate rather than demonising as transphobic those who wish to discuss, or dissent from, Stonewall’s transgender policies.

Very disappointing.

Wonder if she has been threatened, or her family?

Sadly Alison will find out the hard way that her paper is now blotted, just like Caroline Lucas.

If she thinks she can appeal to TRAs' better nature, then she is woefully optimistic.

She will get there. Give her time. I have faith that the woman is an independent thinker.

She has a alright to those opinions, as long as she's not expecting everyone to accept what she accepts.

She has always said trans women are women. I doubt she will move from that.

I'm not sure what issues she signed up for that she does not hold with - she seemed to hold them all there.

Still it is a bit of a rollercoaster, all this peak transing. I don't think she likes to be told what to think, which is as it should be.

One thing she says is that she is fine about Transwomen in womens bathrooms. I'm glad she has had positive experiences in her life. But if she read this paper which makes me very sad she might see how woman survivors of male violence and abuse feel very differently: fovas.wordpress.com/

I still love her, wish she hadn't caved but I'm sure her opinions come from a good place, unlike so many TRAs.

She is probably thinking transwomen as in those with a GRC, and trying to be kind. We have all been there.

Stonewall must be thrilled. Now they can undermine all the signatories - they're either bigots or were really nice people tricked into signing.
