I strongly suspect that MN have been threatened and, therefore, cannot legally allow certain things to be referenced, even indirectly. It is just a complete saga of the absurd and why I have said I will eventually have my say (but cannot right now).

Speaking in general terms, it does seem really silly to quash discussion because then everyone simply goes: what are you trying to hide? And of course it all comes out. It's just ridiculous. WE ALL KNOW.

PopperUppleton · 17/11/2020 14:22

Guess we'd better not link to any articles in The Times again. Or Pink News.

Or even mention that there an interesting article in one of the above or anywhere else for that matter. No more links to Twitter.

Melroses · 17/11/2020 14:23

Refreshed and what happened?

Even explaining an acronym popular in 1980s business jargon Confused - not sure how that broke guidelines - hope the poster isn't given a strike for that Hmm

NotTerfNorCis · 17/11/2020 14:25

I'm betting there have been threats of legal action flying around today. A certain person has been unusually quiet on Twitter.

DialSquare · 17/11/2020 14:28

I'm thinking a few things at the moment that may break the talk guidelines. I'm not going to post them. Will this post be deleted because I mentioned I'm thinking them even though I've not posted them?

SophocIestheFox · 17/11/2020 14:36

I am sending virtual gin and some chocolate chip feminist cookies to MNHQ, because I can imagine moderating this thread is causing premature aging in whichever unlucky soul drew the short straw. I’d guess that it’s being moderated to the letter of the guidelines for a couple of obvious reasons.

Personally, I’d like to see this thread survive as I think it’s been an education.

Totally.

Yah. It’s Barbara Streisand’s seaside home n a bobble hat.
nauticant · 17/11/2020 14:43

I'm with SophocIestheFox. Although the moderation has been harsh I'm glad to see this thread still up.

missmus · 17/11/2020 14:56

Christ, just for reference what other items of clothing or eighties children's TV programs bring mentioned will get a deletion. This person posted pictures of themselves in the public domain in lewd poses. Why can we not talk about that? If they wanted to keep it private they'd have hidden their ugly mug.

Swisscheesemodel · 17/11/2020 14:59

Well I certainly didn't learn anything dreadful by not following any of the directions that are not in the thread.

So thanks, but not for no nothing.

PurpleHoodie · 17/11/2020 15:00

I shall simply henceforth state what I saw (eyeball bleach!) as The Filthy Bobble Hat Sad

I've got over myself. This is indeed an education.

Nice username TPB!

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 17/11/2020 15:31

I started reading this board by accident when a certain Canadian person was being involved in multiple litigations. I thought that was a one-off, just one very disturbed individual. Then I saw more and more things here which made me feel like I had gone down the rabbit hole. I would never in a million years have believed certain things unless the individuals themselves had posted them online.

I wonder if the people defending certain people and groups really have read first hand what those individuals are posting? A comprehensive compilation from various media?

If they have, I slightly despair of the world. I think that for my own sanity, I need to believe that they either are too lazy or too dim witted /indoctrinated to search for this information.

aliasundercover · 17/11/2020 15:39

!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an education!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/11/2020 15:40

Best call Prevent and your local police force and hand yourself in

DrLouiseJMoody · 17/11/2020 15:42

The deletions really are unbelievable but I think I can reassure that the mod likely finds this as absurd as the rest of us. Posts aren't being deleted because of any personal objection but very likely because they are being legally compelled or threatened. It is precisely this conduct which merits discussion.

We're not under any injunction, just trying to keep things on track.
We're all about keeping the conversation flowing, but unfortunately this thread has had previously banned posters, sockpuppeting, new accounts derailing, a fair amount of Talk guideline breaking, and more - hence the deletions.
