Trans strawberries are raspberries.

Sorry, forgot this thread. Here are strawberries, in all their glory:

Unless you’ve been tested, you don’t know your own karyotype for certain.

If you've successfully reproduced you can be pretty damn sure...

FermatsTheorem · 02/10/2018 22:44

The one I'm still reeling about was a friend of mine (who genuinely is a world expert in her non biology related area of science) retweeting that fucking daft "biology teacher talks about clownfish" piece of fuckwittery a couple of years ago. Haven't really got my head round that. (She is American thus v polarised - you must be in favour of anything a Republican has ever been against, which I do see the appeal of as a heuristic given the moral cesspit that is the GOP, but she should be capable of a bit more in the way of critical thinking).

RogerAllamsFangirl · 02/10/2018 22:49

I'm not sure that the clean hands doctrine is relevant here assuming damages (remedy at law) are sought rather than injunction/specific performance (equitable remedy).

Bowlofbabelfish · 03/10/2018 00:03

He realises that fruits are not human lang Grin

I’m glad he realises that. Because otherwise using it to make the argument he does would be nonsensi... oh. Oh dear 🤦🏻‍♀️

DoctorTwo · 03/10/2018 01:16

Is a there a Dr in da house.

Ohhai.

DebbieInBirmingham · 03/10/2018 09:16

Own goal?
Shot in Foot?
Urinating into the wind?
All of the above?

Hayden is throwing fuel on a bonfire that has caught light inside the transgender community.

This will not end well for trans people.

BurntMarshmallow · 03/10/2018 10:19

It was a link that Hayden shared which if you clicked through, took the person to the address associated with Lineham's wife. It's all documented, not sure how on earth the "Lawyer" thinks this will work in their favour.

Can't wait to see how it turns out for Hayden, shall be a mighty fall I imagine

FekkoTheLawyer · 03/10/2018 12:42

Amen

deepwatersolo · 03/10/2018 12:46

If you've successfully reproduced you can be pretty damn sure...

One would think...

Notmynom · 05/10/2018 12:51

Ha ha. Lovely coverage on this legal site not sure this was how Steph expected the interview to go!

www.rollonfriday.com/news-content/exclusive-transgender-lawyer-sues-father-ted-writer-graham-linehan
An excerpt:
"She claims that Linehan is a transphobe who publicised confidential information by referring toher former male identities in his tweets. She told RollOnFriday, "My right to not reveal that link has been removed from me forever now". Haydenmaintains a public YouTube channel which includedseveral videosfeaturing her as a man and which included her male name in their titles. However she deleted them from the platform this week. Hayden toldRollOnFriday, "The videos were published many years ago long before my formal transition", and that until recently "nowhere within the public domain was there any document saying Tony Halliday/Steven Hayden is now Stephanie Hayden".

Hayden claims that, thanks to Linehan and The Times, "a worldwide audience" is now aware of her previous gender. Asked whether her profileas a transgender activist meant that most people would have become aware fairly quickly that she was once a man, Hayden said, "I am not a Transgender Activist. I was known only by a small specialist Twitter audience until recently".

This article is an absolute joy!!!

UpstartCrow · 05/10/2018 13:02

I don't understand the karyotype gotcha.
If I have mine tested and it proves I'm female, that means there is a way of determining if a person is female. A 'woman', if you will.
And anyone with the other types of karyotype are by exclusionary definition not women.

dolorsit · 05/10/2018 13:06

Worth reading just for the picture caption alone. Grin

AngryAttackKittens · 05/10/2018 13:11

*I was known only by a small specialist Twitter audience until recently

Specialists in what area, grifting?

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 13:14

Oh when they unleashed the Cassandra Moss stuff. The @cassieMouth accounts (there were at least four, three remain online) is still up and it's as viciously misogynistic as you'd expect.

Incidentally our friend from earlier in the thread is on Twitter claiming to be posting their very first Tweet (chinny reckon) at the horror of Mumsnet banning them for their totes innocent posts. twitter.com/SistersOf_Mercy/status/1047251638086488064

This completely unused account with no followers has mysteriously acquired lots of likes and retweets from TRAs who happened across it, quite by accident from this person who has literally no connections on Twitter and is not in any related to the subject of this thread oh no, not at all.

Manderleyagain · 05/10/2018 13:25

If linehan defends the defamation on the grounds what he said was justified, the trial will effectively be testing whether sh is in fact a dodgy harasser etc. A judges ruling would be on that. ......

hackmum · 05/10/2018 13:32

Just when I thought I couldn't love Graham Linehan any more. What a fabulous interview. "There are so many implications to redefining the word ‘woman’. Sport will change utterly. Vulnerable women in places like shelters and prisons will be at greater risk. And just the basic day-to-day grind of having to pretend something’s true when it’s not true."

Sarahconnor1 · 05/10/2018 13:34

Graham has protected his Twitter account. This follows Alison Moyet leaving Twitter and threats to Jonny Best.

All since the Stonewall petition started

Melamin · 05/10/2018 13:39

a worldwide audience" is now aware of her previous gender. no one knew before? Confused

I always understood that to be defamed, you needed a significant reputation, and a lot of money for lawyers. Not sure how you prove that if you keep moving and changing your name.

Melamin · 05/10/2018 13:40

Graham has protected his Twitter account. This follows Alison Moyet leaving Twitter and threats to Jonny Best.

The threats we see are pretty vile. Hate to think what the rest are like Sad

OldCrone · 05/10/2018 13:41

I don't understand this either. That twitter thread seems to be saying that you can't determine someone's 'gender' from their karyotype - clearly you can determine their sex. I presume gender is all about pink and blue brains, or stereotypes or something. How progressive.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/10/2018 13:43

If I say that my neighbor, a person of no public profile whatsoever, is a batty old git who shouty rambling irritates everyone in the neighborhood, is that defamation? Ie, if the person being "defamed" is realistically of no importance and does not have a public profile?

This Hayden person is only known at all because they make a habit of harassing people on Twitter. Surely that doesn't amount to a reputation that deserves legal protection - VIT for Very Important Troll?

BreakWindandFire · 05/10/2018 13:46

RollonFriday is a site for actual, practicing, solicitors, which makes 'lawyer' Steph's further exposure as someone who is nuttier than squirrel shit all the more delicious.
