Aimee Challenor welcomed into the Lib Dems

Just for quick context, Aimee Challenor resigned from the Lib Dems under a cloud of shit, after Aimee's father was charged for raping a 10-year-old-girl while dressed in a nappy, and Aimee continued to employ him as an agent.

So there is currently an investigation by Veritas into what happened, this has not been completed, but already welcomed with open arms into the Lib Dems.

Sickening.

Anyone can join a political party but they wouldn't be tweeting out a welcome to ordinary hardworking women

You've got to admit though.

This is going to provide us with months of entertainment on here.

Anyone else think that the meek restrained "Welcome" message from the normally rabid LGBT Lib Dems Twitter account speaks volumes?

To me it says "Oh, Christ - how do we keep AC from taking over our committees? We're the trans voice of the party, how do we stop this?"

Good luck with that, folks. AC is in now and will expect a certain level of involvement at the trans top table. And of course getting AC out is another issue. Wonder who will be getting the first injunction?

I imagine that Verita is right now pencilling in another investigation into the Lib Dems in six months time.

I've just emailed the Lib Dems to say that I would like to be reassured that Aimee is not being considered for a position of responsibility within the party.

I don't think Lib Dems are able realistically to reject a membership application despite using the father as election agent. What is possible is that if Aimee becomes a voice on that execrable LGBT Twitter feed, the leadership are more likely to publicly and finally sack it off. As Sarah Brown appears to feature heavily in the running of Twitter feed, and is AC's new Lib Dem BFF, its highly possible AC will get a role in some public pronouncements which the LibDems feel uncomfortable justifying.

Anyone is entitled to change political party

The Labour Party asks that you confirm you are not a member of another party. I joined so I could vote against Corbyn. I had been a supporter for decades but not a member.

I joined the Conservative Party when it looked as if there was going to be a leadership contest after the Brexit result. May looked the least awful. They didn't ask about other parties. I'm still a member of the Conservatives but not Labour.

Ironically I voted Lib Dem at the last election to keep the SNP out.

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

The women on here predicted this as soon as AC left the Greens!!!!!!!

Anyone else reminded of the story of Cassandra?

This is um... interesting.

On Twitter, the Global Greens LGBT+ group is chastising Shahrar Ali of the Greens for sharing Bea Campbell's recent article about the party and the David Challenor debacle:

twitter.com/greenslgbt/status/1045601792678088704

If we look at the committee of the Global Greens LGBT+ Network, who do we see as coordinator? Oh! It's Aimee!

greenslgbt.net/about/people/

This would seem to be at odds with Aimee's newfound political affiliations, no?

Their federal system will mean the leadership won't be able to stop it.

Aimee will join the LGBT Lds and that will help the obvious lack of lesbian representation.

There is already an active movement to remove 'Terfs' from the party.

Seriously unimpressed at this.

Is it because that nice Vince Cable said they'd welcome anyone to be the new leader?Grin

DHs response: "Thank God it's not Labour!"
My response: "it's just matter of time!"

You couldn’t make this up, could you. Through the Looking Glass in the early C21st.

The central party have no control over the LGBT section. It's a party within a party.

It will blow the party apart eventually as the culture war rolls on.

FFS.
But I guess, better than Labour. (by the slightest of margins - I do like Remain after all)

I'm pretty sure the LibDems could have refused membership if they'd wanted to. You don't have to allow everyone who applies to join.

But you know what? They're idiots? This will backfire on them, probably very quickly.

I followed the twitter trail back to the original Be a Campbell article, which I hadn't seen.

www.byline.com/column/85/article/2300

Apologies if I'm way behind everyone else and it's been shared before, but it's so excellent that I'll risk repeating the link.

Absolutely astonishing that the Global Greens can read that and come away with a sense of outrage about...

deadnaming.

I’ve just read the Lib Dems LGBT Twitter page and it’s like a petulant teenager is in charge of it, full of retweets and links to articles about “bigots”. I’m sure AC will fit right in.

I don't really understand how people can make their own social media accounts using political party branding with no oversight or governance from the central party. It just seems batshit - no private organisation would allow it.

One thing I will say about the Blair/Campbell New Labour era is there is no way they would have allowed individuals to run around unchecked with their branding attached.

Jesus. Really it’s like being trans is a get outa jail free card. In fact do anything you want and get away with it, while shouting bigot at anyone who dares to question.

Right my mum is a member of LD I’m seeing her today. She is already peak trans. We will be discussing!!
