Ocado boycott after support of Primesight actionhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3376466-ocado-boycott-after-support-of-primesight-action

Following on from my previous thread that became full Smile

I'll be making my first Waitrose order today, or maybe going back to Tesco. Will definitely give Waitrose a go though and have placed a Christmas order already.

Sent a live chat question to them last week and was told it had been forwarded to the team and they couldn’t advise when I would get a reply. Sent an message via contact page and got an auto response saying could be up to 24 hours for a reply. No further response.
I’ve now signed up to Sainsbury’s.
I’m going to phone Ocado though just to let them know why I’ve cancelled and to see if they have honed their ‘staying out of the debate’ response, now they’ve had plenty of practice using it.

I’ve still not heard from Millie. I asked on Friday for my lifetime spend and had no response except the ‘we will respond within 24 hours’ When I phoned to cancel they didn’t say a manager would be in touch like they have with some other people. I probably average 6 deliveries a month since 2010 or so for big greedy family plus pets so it’s not small potatoes

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 30/09/2018 20:33

A lot of the trustpilot reviews seem to show second class service for women.

secretsciurusvulgaris · 30/09/2018 20:34

You can get the lifetime spend through the live chat function on the app and can also then screenshot everything they say as proof, if you have asked them to remove data etc.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 01/10/2018 09:32

Their stock prices have dropped this morning.

AdultHumanFemaleBirdsEye · 01/10/2018 09:37

I shall be going into supermarkets and photographs myself holding birds eye products wearing an Adult human female T-shirt to upload on Mumsnet.

Birds eye stood with Mumsnet.

Meet0nTheIedge · 01/10/2018 09:45

I bought Birds Eye peas instead of own brand this weekend.

VickyEadie · 01/10/2018 09:59

I normally use Fetch (part of Ocado) for ordering my large dog's special diet foods. Today I switched to another online supplier and am about to tell Fetch/Ocado why.

ourkidmolly · 01/10/2018 10:22

Got my Waitrose delivery last night. It's not the same and I also hate the website. Weirdly they haven't the same range of Waitrose stuff as Ocado. No essential fresh juice etc. I'm really missing Ocado.
Just so easy. But now totally committed to this course of action so will keep going. They are fools.

VickyEadie · 01/10/2018 10:28

I paid more by ordering a (large) amount of dog food from a different supplier than if I'd ordered from Fetch. But my partner and I agreed that the principle is the issue and we'd rather pay more and boycott the misogynists.

Needmoresleep · 01/10/2018 10:31

I wonder when Ocado's crisis meeting with their PR team is happening. I hope they have noted Lucy Bannerman's article in the Times today.

It has, the plan of action seemed to be keep it low key, don't answer bad reviews and phone everyone who complains to keep this out of the public eye.

FloralCup · 01/10/2018 11:22

If people are still getting the apologetic phone calls from Ocado - could I suggest that they ask the caller to look at Mumsnet. Hopefully one of them will be a mumsnet or will sign up and tell us what is happening behind the scenes.

Needmoresleep · 01/10/2018 11:24

Yes, but it is not going away, is it. And Millie needs to report back.

I actually don't think they will crack. I don't think they can face the noise that the TRA lobby will bring, though Birds Eye managed it. However they are presumably realising that more toxicity has been added to their brand than they expected. Ocado is aspirational. I had home deliveries I would want to see an Ocado van rather than a Tesco one. But no more. And when I bump into my neighbour, who does use them, I will mention their misogeny. There will be further damage, beyond the significant business they have already lost. Fair or not, Ocado have become the poster boys for TRAs.

StealthNinjaMum · 01/10/2018 11:34

I may be imagining it but I think someone tweeted the previous thread to Ocado. Either way I'm sure they monitor social media and are aware of these threads. I am sure dozens of us have told them they need to make a public apology - I did when I spoke to the customer service lady on Friday - and they don't care.

I overheard some school mums talking about this the other day. Clearly some were mumsnetters (although nobody mentioned mumsnet) so I think the lack of press coverage will be made up by school mums (particularly primary school mums) talking anyway.

Greenfliesarenice · 01/10/2018 12:03

I see there's some Ocado plants on chat. Makes Ocado look even more stupid in my opinion.

RepealtheGRA · 01/10/2018 12:14

Perhaps someone could leave a review on trust pilot pointing this out to them? Wink

Budgieinaberet · 01/10/2018 12:18

I don't think they are Ocado plants. I think they're TRA

Greenfliesarenice · 01/10/2018 12:22

You're probably right Budgie, anyway I've commented on Trustpilot.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 01/10/2018 12:23

Emailed them Friday and said I didn't want to talk on the phone only a public apology would have done but too late now, please delete account and all data. Got an email from them this morning about something - paperless bills I think. Do we think they might be deluged with such requests?

Budgieinaberet · 01/10/2018 12:45

Thanks for the link.

MnerXX · 01/10/2018 13:10

Good article. Shame that they refer to everyone all as "mums" (feels lazy somehow). Being a mum is not a prerequisite to being on this site or being annoyed with Ocado and wanting to boycott.

Is it a way of downplaying what has been going on? Sounds a bit cuddlier somehow than protests leads to Ocado losing ££££££s in future sales. Oh those mums.
