Ocado boycott after support of Primesight actionhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3376466-ocado-boycott-after-support-of-primesight-action

Following on from my previous thread that became full Smile

I'll be making my first Waitrose order today, or maybe going back to Tesco. Will definitely give Waitrose a go though and have placed a Christmas order already.

Mine was removed yesterday, they TRA's ones should be next, which will level things back out.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 16/10/2018 08:50

I redid my homework over the weekend but I’m still waiting for it to be republished.

RepealtheGRA · 16/10/2018 09:00

My ‘adult human female’ stickers have arrived. I will be sticking them to the leaflets they keep shoving through my door and returning them.

secretsciurusvulgaris · 21/10/2018 00:05

Redid my review to include all the incidences of dire service and the woman incident was the last straw for me as a customer.

LaPufalina · 21/10/2018 00:18

Despite my cancelling my account and telling them not to contact me again, I had a text telling me I was due my regular order tomorrow and that I had until 5.40 to edit it! I phoned and told them to remove everything they hold on me, including my credit card details, and reminded the callhandler why.

Somerville · 21/10/2018 00:22

Even if Ocado apologised now, I don't think I'd go back. Waitrose delivery are loads better because I can get a delivery slot the next day - Ocado I had to order at least 48 hours before, if not longer. I hope they do apologise though.

Can't you try Saintsbury's or Tesco for deliveries?
I find Tesco really good...

LaPufalina · 12/11/2018 11:44

Middledog same; Waitrose app is nowhere near as handy! Prefer their service so far though! And ocado were always good.

Tanith · 12/11/2018 12:11

Are you still boycotting Ocado?? What on earth for?

Am I missing something? Because if it’s still about that advertising company tweet, this seems to me to be an incredibly disproportionate response.

PerverseConverse · 12/11/2018 12:14

I've gone back to Tesco.

@Tanith some people have principles. Boycotting for a short time is pretty pointless.

Women don't like being erased and we want to use our ample spending power to make that clear. HTH.

Not missing ocado myself. Liking birdseye who I've started buying now. Lovely fish.

Serfisafleur · 12/11/2018 12:21

It's not a boycott if you just skip one order...

ThePrincipal · 12/11/2018 13:05

I’ve skipped over a month of orders. Wave 👋 bye bye to £££ Ocado.

pinkcardi · 12/11/2018 13:08

Hello everyone, just wanted to say that I've ended all Ocado use now and switched to another. Waitrose app is annoying and I found the choice limited. Didn't like Sainsbury's at all.

I've also told everyone that would listen about the boycott Smile

KatVonGulag · 12/11/2018 13:11

The action got media traction. I think important in a world of threats of boycotts by TRAs that we show we've got purchasing power too. Just a little reminder.
Too many companies have rolled over at a hint of trans rights activist trouble.

Fantata · 12/11/2018 13:48

I've skipped a number of Ocado orders although not boycotted completely because life's difficult just now and Ocado is much easier to use than Waitrose. I like Waitrose, although the min order of £60 is a bit painful and the range (esp non-food) is much more limited.

Is anyone else suffering due to the loss of ocado in their life? Waitrose has less choice, always substitutes and hasn’t been on time once.

This has been my experience too. I do find that there are several brands I'm missing from Waitrose's selection, and they're always late.

I'm not returning to Ocado, but it's galling having to put up with reduced convenience over this. Why can't they just bloody well issue a public apology?!

Do you recommend any specific type of their fish?

UpstartCrow · 13/11/2018 10:50

Its all good quality. Like their garden peas.

StealthNinjaMum · 13/11/2018 10:51

I'm suffering too but I've gone 25 years without buying a kit Kat so I think I'll manage with sainsburys and waitrose! I am a stubborn adult human female.

Xiaoxiong · 13/11/2018 10:58

MotherofPearl me too. The only good thing about switching to Waitrose seems to be that I'm spending less for some reason, I think because there's less choice. They have been late almost every week and without fail they call me 30 mins before to tell me my card hasn't gone through - when I give it to them over the phone there's no problem so there is something wrong with the checkout process on the app. I tried Sainsbury's and got about 10 substitutes and the veg from Tesco went off within days. DH is moaning, why can't you protest in a way that doesn't inconvenience the rest of us etc etc.

It's so annoying. If Ocado would just issue a public apology rather than writing me grovelling personal emails I'd be back with them tomorrow.

Nocado · 13/11/2018 11:10

I nearly caved but cancelled with 10 mins to go of edit time. I felt so relieved after cancelling that I know the inconvenience of not using them is outweighed by a lighter conscience. Bizarrely I too have saved money by alternating between Waitrose and Sainsbury's deliveries. The non food items from Ocado are often more expensive than other places and I just bunged them into the order for convenience. Ocado food is dear too but I mainly bought offers and flash sales (I miss the variety that enforced).
