Ocado boycott after support of Primesight actionhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3376466-ocado-boycott-after-support-of-primesight-action

Following on from my previous thread that became full Smile

I'll be making my first Waitrose order today, or maybe going back to Tesco. Will definitely give Waitrose a go though and have placed a Christmas order already.

I also guessing the don’t read those name big branded companies who quote as approved by mumsnetters

redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2018 00:10

I think the woke folk don't understand that 82% of Ocado's customers are women.

Even sadder is that Ocado don't fucking understand it either.

InWomensProtection · 30/09/2018 00:19

@redshoes. I’m laughing because all those poking fun at us boycotting ocardo and feeling they have won don’t give shinny crap about that company anyway. They won’t support them. It’s a one way street. Ocardo I have no sympathy for, obviously they thought the picking popular side.

I need to know why now what happened in 1978 with NatWest, do I need to give them evil eye 🤣

redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2018 00:29

My employer paid my wages into someone else's account and they wanted to charge me for going overdrawn. It was the fact that the charge was disproportionate to the accidental overdraft that pissed me off. And this was in the good old days when I could pop in the bank and talk to a human being.

Hold a grudge !

Needmoresleep · 30/09/2018 00:37

I boycotted International Stores, which is probably why they no longer exist.

seafret · 30/09/2018 00:50

TrumpsToddler yes you are absolutely right. I had mentioned Ocado's sometimes poor packing, but as we rely on home delivery and it was always easy to get a slot at short notice and they have a wide range, I kept going back regardless as it was just so convenient.

I could have saved about £30 this week with the deals I had chosen and turned down a free smart pass for 12 months too :(

I will not tolerate this disrespect. I also hold a longstanding grudge against Tesco!

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 30/09/2018 06:51

Anyone want to email their local gurdwara and mosque about this whole issue, including information on The Gender Recognition act explaining why the boycott is happening?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 30/09/2018 06:52

Get the issue out their anyway you can.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 30/09/2018 06:52

There

Needmoresleep · 30/09/2018 07:49

If anyone from Ocado is reading, they might like to note the articles in the Sunday Times and The Mail on Sunday about Stephanie Hayden, one of the group of activists who claims to have convinced Primesight to take down the poster giving a dictionary definition of woman.

Customers can clearly see how ridiculous this is. But not Ocado. A public apology is needed.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 30/09/2018 08:21

I took umbrage with Tesco in 2003. They failed to deliver my online delivery three days in a row and charged my bloody card each time! By the end I was £300 out of pocket and still had no food and I demanded they give back my money and they said 'we can't do that for fourteen days.'
Can you tell I am still cross?
At that point I switched to Ocado, who were good in those days. I was happily anticipating using Ocado again when this happened. If I am capable of being cross with Tesco for this long I can do the same with Ocado.

borntobequiet · 30/09/2018 08:56

I still very rarely darken the doors of Boots or M&S having taken umbrage at their staff’s snotty attitude to customers in the 1980s.
Superdrug/Lloyd’s Chemists and BHS/Debs got my custom instead - I really regret the demise of BHS, got some great knickers there.

Molokonono · 30/09/2018 09:01

If anyone from Ocado is reading, they might like to note the articles in the Sunday Times and The Mail on Sunday about Stephanie Hayden, one of the group of activists who claims to have convinced Primesight to take down the poster giving a dictionary definition of woman.

Stephanie didn't need the dictionary definition of women to know to go after Graham Linehan's wife when HE posted information pertaining to the multiple identities of Stephanie and their business dealings.

woman disobeys the cult, go after her
man disobeys the cult, go after the closest woman.

And the aim is not to distress her, but to take her down completely.

FowlerThanFowl · 30/09/2018 10:20

Just trans peaked the Waitrose delivery guy Grin

MotherofPearl · 30/09/2018 13:04

All this talk of taking umbrage is making me feel as if I'm in a Barbara Pym novel. Grin

pocketsofsedition · 30/09/2018 13:13

First Waitrose order placed. Very pleased to note that if you click through to the website via Quidco (cashback site, free to join) you get £20 cashback for the first FIVE deliveries, then can get £2 thereafter.

With free delivery from Waitrose and not having to pay for the Smartpass (which only gave us midweek deliveries) we're actually going to do quite well out of this switch! Thanks Ocado, for reminding me that I have a choice of retailers. Convenience made me complacent.

minsmum · 30/09/2018 13:28

Since I asked to be removed from the Ocado customer lists I have been receiving emails from them daily when I didn't before. Is anyone else finding this

MistressFunbox · 30/09/2018 13:30

Ooh yes, I just got one- asked to be removed yesterday

Previously had one a Fortnight and wasn't due one for two weeks.

minsmum · 30/09/2018 13:45

I have now put in a SAR request and when that is sent i will look into making a complaint

LaPufalina · 30/09/2018 15:27

Just spoke to my DSis and gave her an ocado summary; she was shocked (but more shocked that I'd cancelled as I'm such a loyal customer to them!) and she says she won't order from them again, either. Another £5k a year spender gone!

Runningintothesunset · 30/09/2018 16:10

They have 48 hours to remove you from marketing - if you get anything from them after that then you could report them to the ICO for gdpr breaching

Laniakea · 30/09/2018 17:04

I've not spent £168 with Ocado since this started. There are any number of perfectly fine alternatives & they won't get my custom back.

Unlike Costa coffee who I haven't used since 2007 but spent relatively little in, Ocado will lose thousands each year from me alone.

Charliethefeminist · 30/09/2018 17:08

Women just won't go back. And nobody else is going to, instead of us. It's not like there'll be household arguments about Ocado. It's just no, not ever, bye, move on. This will be like the Sun in Liverpool, no disrespect to the victims of the disaster.

secretsciurusvulgaris · 30/09/2018 18:49

No marketing emails today and password not working on app so I think they now have removed my details.

GetOvaIt · 30/09/2018 18:55

Recently peaked and been lurking here since!
I saw the Ocado tweet directly on Twitter and wrote to them on tuesday to ask them to clarify. I finally got the call yesterday from poor Millie who has obviously had plenty of education this week.
They aren't planning to make a public statement, but will feed back that I want one. (Desperately hoping this all goes away)
I was read the list of groups they protect and they've been smart enough to change gender to sex.
I was offered money off to stay.
I cancelled everything and left negative reviews all over the place, though I didn't mention the billboard. I thought raising all past gripes I'd had is more likely to influence other customers and damage their business!
