Ocado boycott after support of Primesight actionhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3376466-ocado-boycott-after-support-of-primesight-action

Following on from my previous thread that became full Smile

I'll be making my first Waitrose order today, or maybe going back to Tesco. Will definitely give Waitrose a go though and have placed a Christmas order already.

The thought police have just caught up with me and I seem to have an opportunity to extend my previous comments. Grin

Can I ask how everyone else has handled this? I don’t want to lie and say the service was crap, although I note there seems to be a few reviews now along those lines. I want to shout from the rooftops though about their attitude to their customer base.

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 12:40

I re wrote mine ( Trustpilot), based on the failure of Ocado's customer services, to resolve my complaint about an offensive public tweet, which was offensive to me as a female customer. I detailed customer services failure to respond within time limits and issue public apology for public offence caused to me as a female customer.

I linked it to my already existing concerns, re some Ocado drivers having harassed women customers as reported in the media, earlier in the year.

I included an extract from the email Ocado had sent me about being " inadvertently involved" in what was, to me, a very deliberate and insulting tweet.

It's still awaiting moderation. No surprise there. That's what we get for being honest.

We could all just have lied and said: how fecking thin their ham was and how mushy were the apples.Grin

If it's not put up after moderation, then I'm moving on to reviewing Trustpilot.

" Down with this sort of thing"

montenuit · 10/10/2018 13:15

my smart pass is paid up until mid Feb... if i cancel do they refund any of it?

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 10/10/2018 13:30

Thanks Lurking

" Down with this sort of thing" indeed Grin

Insertwitticismhere · 10/10/2018 17:46

Rewritten mine too explaining that ignoring my request to remove details was a customer service issue for me.

I note that the reviews which just say something like 'thanks for being inclusive' still stand!?

The bit I don't get is that if we are all so wrong why go to such lengths? My review said nothing at all offensive simply that I'd come to the conclusion that shopping with Ocado was no longer in line with my values.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 10/10/2018 18:11

I note that the reviews which just say something like 'thanks for being inclusive' still stand!?

I'm guessing Ocado haven't bothered to ask for those to be expanded upon.

Bless them. Which reviews are from actual customers do they think?

Ereshkigal · 10/10/2018 18:18

Report them. They're in breach for only having political views.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 10/10/2018 18:22

Let not remember what was cleared up today in the house of lords:

Failure to share someone’s belief is not the same as mocking or disdaining it. Human Righs Article 9 supports this right.
It's in no way hate speach to say TWAW.

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 18:53

Eh? CaptainKirkssparetupee
I am missing your point here I think.
I might have to change my specs.

No one here is saying that using the phrase "TWAW" is hate speech.AFAIK

Although, I think you may have difficulty getting Ashers Bakery N.I. to bake you a cake with such wording.

You then could review on Trustpilot

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 10/10/2018 18:54

The word woman being used by women caused the whole issue.

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 19:11

An interesting perspective Captain. Thank you .

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 10/10/2018 19:14

An interesting perspective Captain. Thank you

It's not a perspective, it's what happen.

Unless you can explain another interpretation that is the only one i've seen unfolding.

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 19:29

It's not a perspective, it's what happen
Lots of stuff has happened, put me on the same page as yourself .

I have nothing I need to explain.

It's your intervention ( in bold below) that I said I was not sure of.

Perhaps YOU would care to explain how, in YOUR words

The word woman being used by women caused the whole issue

As I don't know what you mean.

FloraHiggins · 10/10/2018 19:41

I may have got this wrong but is the confusion because captain wrote “It’s in no way hate speach to say TWAW” when perhaps she meant to say it’s not hate speech to say trans women aren’t women? Apologies if that’s not the issue at all!

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 19:50

Dunno Flora, I'm confused, but thanks any way. Smile
I'll lie down in a darkened room for a while, it's been a long day in the Gulag.

Melamin · 10/10/2018 20:02
Confused
CaptainKirkssparetupee · 10/10/2018 20:03

Maybe, I posted in the wrong thread too, I meant to post on the Mermaids thread, but it applies here.

MaverickSnoopy · 10/10/2018 20:19

I'm wondering if Millie has been secretly peak transed by all of this. It is just her job after all...and no I'm not Millie.

LurkingWaspi · 10/10/2018 20:52

Maybe Millie will become Millie Tant!

There's another thread going about Trustpilot, started this morning, I just found it. Doh!

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 11/10/2018 13:59

I know the thread has moved on a bit, but I contacted Ocado to cancel my accoynt and remive my data on 28 Septemember and am still receiving emails from them. Is there a set period of time they have to do this? I can still log in to my account as well.

Runningintothesunset · 11/10/2018 15:22

Thursday- they have 48 hours, so they’ve clearly breached that. You can report them to the ICO now under gdpr

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 11/10/2018 15:55

OK, thanks

Ratitatita · 11/10/2018 15:55

Thursday, they have one month to respond to a request for erasure (not 48h). See link here.

I am a bit miffed that the Ocado share price has gone up a little bit today after losing 15% or so over the past week.

PerverseConverse · 11/10/2018 16:08

Trustpilot don't give a shit:

"Thanks for your email. As explained in my previous 3 emails - Trustpilot is not a platform for sharing political opinions. We provide a community where buying and service experiences should be shared. Should a review be edited so it complies with our guidelines, we will always reinstate it.

As such please note this is your final opportunity to edit your review so it mentions a service experience. Please do so in 7 dayss_ or with your next reply, whichever is sooner. Please note failure to action this will result in your review remaining offline and this matter being closed. "

Trustpilot failed in their previous emails to address any of the concerns I raised and just kept spouting the above.

OP posts:
Flooffloof · 14/10/2018 15:57

I edited my trustpilot review and it's still standing.
Added some stuff about nice drivers but swaps being wrong and useless to me. Left all the women are adult human female in.
