"He's not a real woman but I am". Smile

ps does anyone know why this is blowing up now? I swear that Pips Bunce had won this award or a similar one or at least was in the news months and months ago.

I'm too pissed off to comment further. At HIM, not you Op.

NotMeOhNo · 22/09/2018 01:50

I love it! Douglas Adams would have said they will both soon disappear in a puff of logic. Grin

OnlyObjectivity · 22/09/2018 02:41

There's a never ending list of such awards. It's just inward-marketing for profitable industries, initially designed to be "inspirational" but in practice senior folks just bully their minions into voting for them, whereapon they publish some carefully-crafted false-modesty acceptance-speech pap.

TimeLady · 22/09/2018 07:23

He won it in 2017 as well.

This is what the GRA did. It created the fiction that men can ever become women.

CrackpotsArePots · 22/09/2018 07:26

I don't know what to think about India. Does India really get it? I bet India is very scared. Me too

CrackpotsArePots · 22/09/2018 07:27

Oh. I see she called me a TERF (not me in particular, women worried about this in general). So you don't get it. Sorry India; it's a lonely place to feel so betrayed by men.

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 07:51

India would like to gatekeep the bounds of womanhood at exactly that point that India gets to enter it. India and Pips only disagree about the exact placement of the boot on women's necks.

Charliethefeminist · 22/09/2018 07:54

India is all about India, surely. If India speaks up, it will never be because of a wider injustice, brotherly struggle, or feminist cause. It's just 'good for me or bad for me?'

Charliethefeminist · 22/09/2018 07:55

India and Pips only disagree about the exact placement of the boot on women's necks.

Thank you for this.

AngryAttackKittens · 22/09/2018 07:55

If Pip responds and they get into a slapfight I'll bring the popcorn.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 22/09/2018 07:57

I saw on Twitter that there were in fact two inspirational and stunning women on that FT awards list who dip in and out of womanhood as the mood takes them, and why not, don't we all? No, of course we don't.

Nicci Take is the other one. Website says 'BY DAY NICCI TAKE IS A STYLISH, DEMURE, MIDDLE-AGED CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WHO SOMETIMES GOES INTO WORK AS A MAN SO SHE CAN BULLY PEOPLE BETTER'. Lovely.

TimeLady · 22/09/2018 07:58

I'm not sure the award in itself means much, tbh. It has however highlighted to the wider world that Bunce is a total insensitive prat. I suspect he has NO inkling of how he is actually perceived at work.

AngryAttackKittens · 22/09/2018 07:59

If you criticize another women's outfit, you're just being a bit rude. If you criticize Pip's lacy pink dress and fishnets, that's transphobia and a potential disciplinary offense.

TimeLady · 22/09/2018 08:06

I don't think I've ever owned a pair of fishnets. Who in their right mind would think they were appropriate for work??

Tights or stockings? My moneys on stockings.

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 08:09

I can't take credit for that one, Charlie, I read it on here.

Sums it up nicely though, eh?

AngryAttackKittens · 22/09/2018 08:09

I've owned fishnets but it would never have occurred to me to wear them to work in an office. Also not entirely sure most offices would allow a woman to do so.

FusionChefGeoff · 22/09/2018 08:12

I'm really hoping this will peak trans a lot more people

pancaketosser · 22/09/2018 08:13

India only cares because it will impact on India.

Remember when India thought that a website listing women who were murdered was demonising the poor men?

SausageOnAFork · 22/09/2018 08:13

Wait a minute so India is upset because someone has won the award who isn’t trans enough for her liking? (And nothing to do with a man winning a woman’s award of course)
I thought this was being gender fluid. Does that not come under the trans umbrella? Or is it a case of only people that India deems worthy of being trans.

Is this the ‘no true Scotsman’ defence.
So India if someone like Pip here isn’t a true trans person how do we tell when they are dressed as a woman and using women only facilities?

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 08:14

If Pip responds and they get into a slapfight I'll bring the popcorn

And there I was thinking that this weekend was going to be a bit boring Grin

TerfsUp · 22/09/2018 08:16

It sucks when someone tries to appropriate your identity, doesn't it, India?

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 08:16

Remember when India thought that a website listing women who were murdered was demonising the poor men?

Yeah, that was low. We need Bewilderness back to tell us which of the rules of misogyny it is when the worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad.
