Just why?

Men already have privilege in terms of hitting the glass celing, and in the top positions, and they want to take what little women have for themselves.

Well to squeeze one more in,

The Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow also demonstrated the perils of using a quote without having better awareness of the person quoted.
He quoted Churchill at the end of his speech when he 'ranted about gender critical women' the week the GRA consultation was opened :

Thinking of selective quotes/quotes taken out of context, I have always been a bit tempted to start a troll "inspirational breast feeding quotes" thread with Shakespeare's "I too have given suck and know how tender t'is to nurse the babe that milks me."

But that would be evil.

OvariesOverBrovaries · 22/09/2018 13:27

I have a shaved head and wore trousers when I used to work. Therefore I am now a man, surely? This pleases me.

I expect a pay rise immediately, as I am now assertive not bossy. It also pleases me that no one even gives one fuck about whether I have DC, or even worse, might be planning to have DC. Everyone will also assume I am the boss when they see me. Also if I go for a new job, I will be more likely to get it now! This is great! I'm so glad I wear trousers. It is very wise of me. I think I shall make sure I develop a good sense of smugness, superiority and work the term "trail blazer" into every conversation.

(I shall also start by prefacing all my MN posts with "Speaking as a man". I will also politely call you all "ladies". Until I take my trousers off of course, as I won't be a man then. Clearly. By the way, that wasn't mansplaining, I was just being helpful to you ladies. As I am a man).

Aeroflotgirl · 22/09/2018 13:32

Oh yes Ovaries very true, you go for it girl erm man. Somehow I don't think it is how it will work out because you are a woman, that women aren't allowed to do assertive shit like that. Women will not be allowed to have their cake and eat it like the men.

FermatsTheorem · 22/09/2018 13:41

Can I post the "behold a man" meme, Ovaries? Can I, can I? (Bounces up and down in manner of over excited toddler, which I now totally self-identify as.)

silentcrow · 22/09/2018 13:55

But that would be evil.

Damnit, I should not drink coffee while reading these boards Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/09/2018 13:58

We'll remove any posts that speculate on sexual fetishism or are personal attacks. And if the thread itself strays into personal attack by becoming too focused on an individual rather than the issue surrounding them, we might have to consider removing the whole thing at some point

I'm genuinely thick re the posting guidelines. I mean this honestly. I'm used to working in policy contexts that are a lot clearer.

Is it possible to provide actual examples of acceptable and unacceptable posts based on being 'focussed on the individual'?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/09/2018 14:00

I wonder if a black leather onesie would be suitable board room attire if 'I just feel like it!? 🤔

FermatsTheorem · 22/09/2018 14:01

Yes it would, Fekko provided you are in the group that receives the 30% higher salaries. If you are in the group that receives the 30% lower salaries then clearly not.

Juells · 22/09/2018 14:02

Sounds brave and stunning to me

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/09/2018 14:18

I am. Stunning and brave. I could also shove half a black pudding down my crotch to ensure a pay rise.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/09/2018 14:27

I wish it was just about money. I'm middle-aged and in my younger days, I saw junior men shoot past me whilst I was told that it was my role to serve older men. Now I'm older I still see junior men shoot past me while I'm told it is my role to serve older men, men my age and younger men as well as to 'excuse' younger men 'because they are just looking after themselves' (something I have always been punished for doing). I've just realised that I've been given a 'has-been's workload' of drudge jobs that do not reflect my expertise and will not lead to upwards progression. Until retirement, I'll be basically filling in time on the kinds of thankless tasks no one else wants. I'd shove anything down my pants to get even a little of what my male colleagues get.

The difference between what Bunce is wearing in that Ally video (in the Mail article) and what the woman is wearing is remarkable.

R0wantrees · 22/09/2018 15:00

Pips Bunce interviewed after receiving 'Inspirational Leader' at LGBT+ award earlier this year. Bunce explains they attended parliament the following week to play a role in shaping policy including sitting on the panel discussing Guiding policy in Speakers' House

The event was rather surprisingly sponsored by amongst others PlayBoy and MI5.

Nicci at least seems willing to engage and discuss further. Anyone intelligent and articulate and without PMT, unlike me, fancy having a chat with him?

Cuckoos have various strategies for getting their egg into a host nest. Different species use different strategies based on host defensive strategies. Female cuckoos have secretive and fast laying behaviors, but in some cases, males have been shown to lure host adults away from their nests so that the female can lay her egg in the nest. Some host species may directly try to prevent cuckoos laying eggs in their nest in the first place – birds whose nests are at high risk of cuckoo-contamination are known to 'mob' cuckoos to drive them out of the area. Parasitic cuckoos are grouped into gentes, with each gens specializing in a particular host. There is some evidence that the gentes are genetically different from one another.

Funny that it is a man who said that there needs to be parity between the genders, and totally supports this. Bet he won't be saying the same thing, if a woman because one of Britain's top Male executives. The mysogyny is astounding.

placemats · 22/09/2018 16:05

How many times can you say:

'True authentic self'

That video RO has my eyes rolling so hard, I've had to pick myself up from the floor.

Inspirational leader? Give me strength.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 22/09/2018 16:06

Bet he won't be saying the same thing, if a woman because one of Britain's top Male executives.

Exactly it would never happen - otherwise, I'd declare myself a man on Fridays to get that....

The mysogyny is astounding.

quite - and quite wilfully ignored by most disordered men who control media outlets, the law and medicine.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 22/09/2018 16:08

Inspirational leader? Give me strength.

This for the guy who has written the diversity guidelines for Credit Suisse and who is the ultimate arbitrator of them there.

rightreckoner · 22/09/2018 16:09

To be fair the Murdoch press are covering this thoroughly. It’s the lefty dudes that are ignoring and/or facilitating (Guardian, Amnesty, Greens, Labour...)

Lysistra65 · 22/09/2018 16:13

I bet Philip is not taking the lower wage women are paid when he is Pip? This person is not a transwoman as he does not live as a woman all the time. I don't see how it can be legal for someone who lives as a male half the time to win this prize? All the women who work their socks off, this is so insulting to us.
