I have no words

It's not the original comment that affects me it's the comments section. I thought female erasure was a metaphor - not literal reality.

To think these campaigners are driving public policy. The comments section is truly terrifying.

Because it's literal violence to suggest that someone's chromosomes and body cannot be altered. You're responsible for their entire mental well-being.

Ereshkigal · 13/09/2018 10:20

2 - Having done some very basic reading the, "reciever" of the womb would need to have constant HRT to allow the correct nutrition and connections to work, they would need constant immunisuppressants so their body doesn't reject the womb,

Doctors frequently don't know how to solve female infertility in these cases. Just "HRT" wouldn't be enough, it's a complex balance in a whole holistic female system, not just what MTFs take in their male bodies.

ArcheryAnnie · 13/09/2018 10:35

2. Where are they getting the organ from?

Haven't RTFT but this is the key point, from the very first page.

Let's imagine we are in a parallel universe, a really stupid fucking universe, where the idea of womb transplants into men isn't a fucking ridiculous impossibility, and look at the overall picture:

How many medical conditions do women suffer which are not given anything like the adequate level of research and support, because wimmin? How many women's lives are restricted, cutailed, lived in pain, because of endo, just to take one massive example?

But women with healthy wombs = spare parts for men.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 13/09/2018 10:44

They will get them from women in the Gulag
Have seen twitter posts about hahaha I'll have your wonb TERF fuck you and you will be obsolete

On that note
Loads of men dont' want women around not really
They need us for babies and to do all teh shitwork
However
If they can make men have babies
And of course men have no issues with lower castes of men doing the shitwork
Then it's curtains for us really

NothingOnTellyAgain · 13/09/2018 10:46

The sex bit
I think they could get used to fucking transwomen

They would exert their dominance (something lots seem to need) over TW and low caste men
Loads of TW identify with sexual subservience etc so that would be cool presumably

NothingOnTellyAgain · 13/09/2018 10:47

You could have wombs harvested from non consenting women in certain regimes or illegal harvesting as goes on already with other organs

loads of options

Why the fuck should privileged cis women be allowed to keep something that men NEED?

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 13/09/2018 11:58

We will synthesise sperm well before before we figure out FtM womb transfers.

They know that, or suspect it. That’s why they’re lying about it. They know their contribution to reproduction is much easier to replace.

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 13/09/2018 12:00

...they’ve already done it with mouse sperm apparently.

MadamBatty · 13/09/2018 12:09

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this. Imagine that you could do womb transplants, how would a fetus get in there.

Would they be installed already pregnant?

Ereshkigal · 13/09/2018 12:10

Long term female prisoners? Takes out the pregnancy risk from the other laydees they'll be sharing cells with! Win win! (PS I know TRAs are either hard of thinking or deeply disingenuous and sly or all these things so feel the need to point out that this is satire.)

OhtheHillsareAlive · 13/09/2018 12:16

This surely should get the backing of all TRAs, seeing as they are totally not a penis rights movement.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin fallingirl

Ereshkigal · 13/09/2018 12:19

Now I want to call all anti woman activists, whatever their gender identity, PRAs! Grin

Noqont · 13/09/2018 12:48

So Lily can get pregnant. But just not right now. Okaaaay. Actually Lily, you can't get pregnant because you have male anatomy. So not right now, and not ever.

Natsku · 13/09/2018 13:07

Madigan has finally blocked me. How sad.

littlbrowndog · 13/09/2018 13:10

Your life is now blighted natsku 😿😿

Noqont · 13/09/2018 13:13

How sad Natsku. You must be devastated 😢

TerfsUp · 13/09/2018 13:30

So Lily can get pregnant. But just not right now.

Yeah. Because Lily is only 20 years old and is just starting university, according to h** tweet, so too young.

Nothing at all to do with the fact that Lily is biologically male and men cannot get pregnant.

Nope. Nothing at all.

nopeni · 13/09/2018 13:35

The thing is, as an infertile woman, I've been essentially told to get counselling and sort myself out (not in those exact words but not far off).

Why should the world indulge men's fantasies with false promises and lies like this?

TerfsUp · 13/09/2018 13:55

Because about it's men and their feelz, nopeni.

Jiggy16 · 13/09/2018 13:58

I know this may never happen, but is there anyway to update the organ donor register to ensure that if my uterus was to be donated, that it would only go to an actual woman?

Natsku · 13/09/2018 14:08

So far they are only allowed to go to actual females, per the ethical rules surrounding uterus donation.

Beamur · 13/09/2018 14:55

Well, given that Professor Dame Sally Davies was on the news earlier this week stating that time is running out with regard to anti biotic resistance and unless tackled even basic routine surgery is going to be highly risky, the future for more esoteric surgery would be looking very bleak indeed.
Wasn't the successful uterine transplant from mother to daughter and the uterus removed immediately after delivery? Mum was a live donor.

GenderApostate · 13/09/2018 15:07

There have been 6/7 live births, nearly all familial transplants into Women with their own ovaries, who had to mentstruate successfully for 6 months before becoming pregnant.
The Montreal criteria for Uterine transplants states that only Females are eligible, even for research purposes.

A UK charity has tried and failed to raise £500,000 for Uterine transplant research, again Female only.

bzzbeebzz · 13/09/2018 15:24

Perhaps if LM pursues this then it will eat up all their time and energy and money and keep them out of politics.

bzzbeebzz · 13/09/2018 15:25

After all that’s been men’s strategy with women having children since time began.
