I have no words

It's not the original comment that affects me it's the comments section. I thought female erasure was a metaphor - not literal reality.

To think these campaigners are driving public policy. The comments section is truly terrifying.

That's one rather deluded person there.

Butterymuffin · 11/09/2018 15:24

So how many womb transplants have taken place to date? Hmm

AngryAttackKittens · 11/09/2018 15:24

Parents as a group may disagree about the age at which it's appropriate to explain to children how babies are made, but I feel like 20 is rather later than advisable.

DJLippy · 11/09/2018 15:25

Put's ROGD into context eh?

Biologically speaking- do men have space in their bodies for a womb?

UpstartCrow · 11/09/2018 15:28

This is so sad. Transplants have been woman to woman. Men cannot support a pregnancy; we aren't made of Lego.

sausagebap · 11/09/2018 15:29

is this person actually attending a nursery rather than a university? i know goldsmiths doesn’t appear to be the most academic place but still.

seafret · 11/09/2018 15:30

Wow. MH MH MH.

Why are they calling transmen transmascs? Transwomen are not transfeminines. Why the difference/ distinction?

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:32

Is that somebody in a Mac ?

GulagMilkMonitor · 11/09/2018 15:33
  1. Nope, not possible.
  1. Where are they getting the organ from?
  1. If they, like many trans people, suggest SRS is too invasive, how exactly would surgery to add an unnecessary organ be fine?
  1. If this were possible (it isn’t), how are they suggesting this is funded? Who pays for the uterus to be removed from a woman and placed into a male body? Who then pays for fertility treatment and last but not least who is paying for the caesarean?
My sister can’t even get one round of IVF on the NHS because she has a step child and my cousin can’t get sterilised despite her begging for 10 years.
GulagMilkMonitor · 11/09/2018 15:35

I should add that my sister who can’t get IVF - she had a miscarriage and her “non-binary” friend said the most wicked thing I have ever heard anyone say in all my life.

VickyEadie · 11/09/2018 15:36

I know (comparatively) bod-all about the biology of pregnancy beyond the obvious and have never been pregnant. I strongly suspect, however, that physiologically, endocrinologically, hormonally-speaking a male body - even if popping some extra hormones - couldn't produce the biological responses that a female body does when it knows it's pregnant.

RedToothBrush · 11/09/2018 15:38

Can someone tell the 'I'll swop' muppets about how organ donation works?

Mentioning specifically: blood type, tissue match, rejection, anti rejection drugs +foetus, problems with limited availability of organs for certain ethnic groups, co-morbid health issues which mean someone is an unsuitable candidate for surgery, cost

Y'know the usual thing called 'reality'.

FanWithoutAGuard · 11/09/2018 15:39

The ethical issues with experimenting on babies this way just don't bear thinking about.

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:39

Och they just spouting shite to each other tbh
Completely away with the fairies

They should get jobs then try to afford child care for the mythical babies

FanWithoutAGuard · 11/09/2018 15:40

(to be clear - I know it's not possible, but even if it were, we shouldn't do it - growing babies in pods is preferable to attempting to grow one in a transplanted womb in a man's body surely)

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:40

Ffs arses without a clue how real lif3 works FFS

Trinity1976 · 11/09/2018 15:41

"Biologically speaking- do men have space in their bodies for a womb?"

I was mulling over this one over lunch. My anatomy may be a bit shaky but presumably if you want to whack a womb into a man, then something else would have to give.

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:41

Fecking stupid LIGHTWEIGHT arses

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:42

Could go in their heads cos there space ther3 as brains are missing

numberseven · 11/09/2018 15:42

Male bodies don't have the space, the "plumbing" or the proper blood vessels etc. This is science fiction.

RedToothBrush · 11/09/2018 15:43

Who then pays for fertility treatment and last but not least who is paying for the caesarean?

Mental health reasons for a CS are technically not recognised by the NHS. They are lumped in with 'maternal request' with no specific category for mental health which is leading to women being denied a CS for mental health reasons in certain parts of the country.

This does at least, rule out - if you don't let me have a trans baby on the NHS I'll kill myself types at least.

GulagMilkMonitor · 11/09/2018 15:43

Mentioning specifically: blood type, tissue match, rejection, anti rejection drugs +foetus, problems with limited availability of organs for certain ethnic groups, co-morbid health issues which mean someone is an unsuitable candidate for surgery, cost

Well yes but would they accept it? Because science = hurty feelings.
They haven’t a clue how complicated the processes of pregnancy are. The female body doesn’t just contain a carrier bag for a baby to chill out in.

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 11/09/2018 15:44

Where do you start with these people though?

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 15:45

Madigan never talks about that how hard it’s for women to go to college as child care so expensive

Never ever talks about the actual stuff that affects women

Pffft
