Why have you decided to boycott MN?

Because they wouldn't delete a thread about the convicted paedophile David Challenor and the concerns that his conviction raised about the Green Party's inner workings because 'Transphobia'.

Ok. That'll be a good look for a company.

MipMipMip · 29/08/2018 15:55

Have to admit I'd have preferred that thread showing the munchausen by proxy (suspected) to have not named the children who got away. Life must be hard enough without extra publicity.

Otherwise: Shock

Charliethefeminist · 29/08/2018 15:55

I liked the other thread. It was all publicly available info. Anyway.

Procrastinator1 · 29/08/2018 16:01

We Need to Talk on Facebook has just shown an article about Aimee Challenor from "Left Foot Forward" can't link it here for some reason. It says that Aimee has not made one statement on Green issues. Can that be true?

cyberwanderlust · 29/08/2018 16:11

DC hadn't worked since 2009? Well he did. What about his "work" with the guy called Scooby? See all the links and posts here. It's full of info. www.dogandbear.org/

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 29/08/2018 16:12

It is weird how TRA's [in the words of Harrop] use 'publicly available information' to out people and that is all fine and acceptable, but they have spitting testeric rage when people do it back to them.

LangCleg · 29/08/2018 16:26

Do you think mnhq will get cold feet, after all this?

No. There would be an uprising.

And what happens here is being watched by people who are not extremist anti-woman activists. So those activists might like to think on that. Tipping points are approaching and, as James Kirkup said, putting the frighteners on Mumsnet is not the good look they think it is.

LangCleg · 29/08/2018 16:27

More important people than us are beginning to panic at the thought of a far right backlash.

placemats · 29/08/2018 16:30

It seems to me that the TRA movement has been infiltrated by the far right from the word go.

I suspect that the party line would be that trans issues are green issues you bigot

No there was a quote up thread where Aimee talked about the plastic incinerator in Coventry and the need for weekly recycling collections. It stood out as it's the only time I've heard / read Aimee talking about anyone but Aimee and definitely the very first mention of any Green issues.

Popchyk · 29/08/2018 16:59

I think AC retweets a couple of green issues about once a week. Stack that against hundreds of comments about "transphobia".

I am going to suggest that AC doesn't actually know anything about green issues.

Simply doesn't have time. Or inclination.

I did smile at David and Aimee Challenor hiring a car to go to court to try to get an injunction against a fellow GP member.

Driving a car such a long way for such a ridiculous purpose is not awfully green, is it?

It says that Aimee has not made one statement on Green issues. Can that be true?

Didn't I make the point the other day about the one dimensionality of so many prominent trans activists who want to get into politics?

And the degree to which they are one trick ponies?

Oh yes, I did.

It would not be a surprise to learn that Aimee hasn't done much on green issues.

More important people than us are beginning to panic at the thought of a far right backlash.

As they should. Especially since it was a known strategy used by Steve Bannon during the 2016 US Presidential Elections to help elect Boris, and he's now had meetings with Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg AND Michael Gove. All of whom are pretenders to May's crown.

It has been cited as one of the key subjects which tipped the balance from Clinton, amongst more moderate soccer mum types.

The subject should be beginning to rattle the cages of a lot of political strategists. If they are paying attention and haven't allowed their head to disappear up their own arses.

Its doesn't score highly on surveys as a political issue, precisely because its an emotive thing connected to much wider and deeper culture wars.

Plus you have the fear factor. How many are afraid to openly state their position on this for the sake of their careers / because they will be labelled a bigot?

This subject has more power than anyone in politics is willing to admit.

Yet.

ermygerd · 29/08/2018 17:39

Please don't quote stuff by FrBBrennan. She is very abusive and genuinely transphobic. She's also very antifeminist and an anti-choicer- you don't want to give the TRAs that kind of ammunition.

BraveAndStunning · 29/08/2018 17:43

Ok thanks ermygerd. Only came across the account today.

Everyone:

STOP REFERENCING THAT THREAD.

Stop.

Have a bit of common sense.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 29/08/2018 18:10

Re-crediting popchyk for my new name, as it was in the post up there that referenced - albeit not particularly directly (?) - a deleted post.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 29/08/2018 18:12

Plus my deleted comment was a negative comment on it, so I'm not sure what the problem is?

And my comment was relevant to other comments too so . Genuinely confused on that, so I just won't mention it at all now 😬

LangCleg · 29/08/2018 18:17

Identity politics is built on far right ideology.

I agree. I think two separate issues:

Any political ideology based on individualism is inherently right wing in nature, even though the adherents of this one mistakenly believe their ideology is progressive.

A far right backlash to the gender ideology cult is a different thing altogether - and, if it happens, will be very unpleasant indeed.
