Me too. It's too disgusting, cynical and appalling.

Sury there is a limit to what people will tolerate?

Charliethefeminist · 29/08/2018 00:52

The central issue is D Challenor.

Anyway Ollie Entwistle needs to know about the flaws in any Green Party response to the consultation.

SPOFS · 29/08/2018 00:55

I feel a bit bad for Caroline Lucas here. If she supports Aimee, she will lose he public' support, but if she doesn't support Aimee, she loses the trans vote.

Either way, it will be a nightmare. I wouldn't be surprised if she steps down before this inquiry is over.

I don't. What right minded person wants the votes of people who would blindly or ideologically side with Aimee. And then to be controlled by them forever more.

Most of the Greens also need to do the Freedom Programme.

BitOfFun · 29/08/2018 01:13

Seafret, oh yes, with you there.

CesiraAndEnrico · 29/08/2018 05:48

why is Aimee Challenor STILL doing work for the Green Party?

In all honesty I think Aimee is just refusing, or unable, to hear them say "step back, you can't speak for us until we have completed the investigation/inquiry"

And I think Aimee created and essentially owns the "Massive Green Persona Me" SM platforms being used. So the Greens can¡t just change the password and perform a lock out.

Their only choice is to decisively and forcefully state publically that Aimee is no longer permitted to speak as a Green Top Dog, but keeps doing it anyway.

I don't know if they have the balls to do that.

Destinysdaughter · 29/08/2018 06:46

My God that Coventry Evening Telegraph article is basically a PR piece for Aimee! Disgusting. Why is this story so focussed on them? The poor Victim has been virtually forgotten about in all of this. Angry

Also they call AC his daughter and unlike many of the other articles, actually have a flattering photo of them. The good people of Coventry reading that would be totally unaware AC was transgender.

Gaslighting.

OP posts:
pachyderm · 29/08/2018 07:02

The transgender reference is buried near the end. But would anyone be fooled into thinking AC was a woman? I don't think AC passes at all fwiw.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 29/08/2018 07:08

The Coventry Telegraph quotes Aimee as saying that there are "survivors" of DC's abuse and that "young women" have been impacted. So more than one victim, in fact I'm inferri several.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 29/08/2018 07:08

Inferring

Destinysdaughter · 29/08/2018 07:08

No I don’t either. But it’s the most flattering photo I’ve seen in the reports. Sorry I missed the transgender reference at the end, think the red mist had descended by that point!

What a dreadful piece.

"Aimee Challenor, from Coventry, had hoped to gain a senior position in the political party but has now put her hopes on hold after her father's crimes came to light"

The crimes came to light in 2015. Aimee knew then.

And Coventry Pride found out in 2016.

Aimee stood by, and believed the rapist.

birdbandit · 29/08/2018 07:14

We all must write, with links and evidence to the newspapers who are misreporting this. Privately and publicly. We have to show that, like Aimee, they are aware of what they are doing.

Evidence trail. Lazy journalism or "I'm a victim of lies" shouldn't be a excuse. There is enough info out there, let's make their choices more visible.

TimeLady · 29/08/2018 07:17

Do you think David Challenor was paid or received expenses as a photographer on Green Party related business?

Amalfimamma · 29/08/2018 07:24

EmmaGrundyForPM
With that statement Aimee placed themselves and mum in the "survivors camp".

Destinysdaughter · 29/08/2018 07:32

How to complain about this article:

If you notice a factual inaccuracy in The Coventry Telegraph that does not directly relate to you, please email [email protected]

I don't think Julie Bindel's changed her tune so much as gunning for the Green Party rather than Aimee. I think she's right. They are the organisation who continued to harbour David Challenor after he was charged and who continue, even now, to enable Aimee. They should not, cannot be allowed to get away with this.

And neither should the BBC. I'm even more angry with them than I am with the Guardian who are at least permitted to show bias.

Floisme · 29/08/2018 07:34

Sorry I missed a page and the discussion's moved on.

Amalfimamma · 29/08/2018 07:41

Can someone keepmarchiving the thread please? I have no clue how-to do it and our resident archiver is busy today

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 29/08/2018 08:01

“I feel a bit bad for Caroline Lucas here. If she supports Aimee, she will lose he public' support, but if she doesn't support Aimee, she loses the trans vote.”
I don’t for one second. She needs to stand up and do the right thing and if she looses the trans vote so be it. Somebody somewhere has to make a stand, as an elected representative it is her duty to come out and do so.

Floisme · 29/08/2018 08:06

I don't feel bad for Lucas either. Either she's turned a blind eye to this herself or she has people working in the party who have turned a blind eye - because I simply don't believe that no-one in the party knew. If it's the second, and Lucas genuinely didn't know it's now her job to root out the ones who did. And she needs to do it publicly.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 29/08/2018 08:07

Some votes you don't need. Especially they have a very specific agenda.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/08/2018 08:09

How many people are single- issue voters on this who will only vote for a party that supports self-ID? The people who fit that description are exceptionally vocal, but I'm not convinced that there are very many of them.
