What's ironic is that "I too was a victim, and that's why I didn't understand that having my father involved in my political career was wrong" is the position that might save Aimee's political career

Maybe decades down the line - AC has to show that they understand, are remorseful, have changed their attitudes and behaviour. You cant do that overnight.. if at all for some people and entrenched behviours.

To normal right thinking people AC is utterly discredited.

Trouble is we seem to be surrounded by woke idiots acting as pawns and Evil Enablers . What is it Gullible People-pleasing Evil Enabling Personality Disorder?

WTF is wrong with all these Greens and the like. Sick to the core.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/08/2018 21:35

At some point I'd love to dig into the psychology of why people support individuals who display more red flags than a bunting convention.

RedToothBrush · 28/08/2018 21:35

It's not far-fetched to think that the Challoners WERE Coventry Green Party, then?

No I don't think it is at all. If there were others, there still wouldn't be huge numbers. Maybe a handful. In that case, it would still be very difficult for a few individuals to be able to challenge three people from the same household who held the local party membership details and control of the local party. The only option would be to go over their heads to central office... who had displayed how tightly they were with the Chanellors.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 28/08/2018 21:42

'Hi everyone, we were straying into the realms of speculation again, so we are making some deletions on the thread to bring the tone more in line with the spirit of MN.'

Asking again -

Hi @HopeMumsnet

Does that include the speculation by @MichaelMumsnet when he gaslit everyone about the behaviour on the previous thread? As that speculation is still up.

As in:

Hi all,
We're not issuing strikes - we're trying to host a conversation about an important story. Of course you can talk about David Challenor and the Green Party statement - this is in the public domain and I'm sure more details will be reported tomorrow - but we'd ask you to be extra careful when discussing family members or attempting to piece together any information that might identify the victim.

seafret · 28/08/2018 21:44

What was clear from an earlier post is that we need the BBC to be reporting on this, and other TV news broadcasters.

I want to try to force them to do their public duty and cover this. Complaint for politcal bias towards trans ideology I guess, and sex discrimination against women?

Viago · 28/08/2018 21:49

Great thread from Janice Turner ^

Marie Le Conte is obviously keen to remain woke.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 28/08/2018 21:55

At some point I'd love to dig into the psychology of why people support individuals who display more red flags than a bunting convention

And the psychology of apparently normal women who discover that there has been a serious safeguarding failure on their watch involving appalling harm to at least one small child and who react to the whole situation as if it is a minor pr issue.

What level of harm to women and little girls will be enough to demonstrate that safeguarding matters?

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 21:55

So Coventry Pride were told 2 years ago about David Challenor. Were the Green Party not told? Or did they decide just to do fuck all?

Julie B asks important questions:

Julie B asks important questions:

Wonder if Aimee and all the TRAs will retweet that?

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 21:59

How did Coventry Pride know but not 1)Aimee 2) The Green Party?

Who informed Coventry Pride?

AngryAttackKittens · 28/08/2018 21:59

The question of whether the Greens were told and did nothing is fairly key. If they were told by Aimee and did nothing then a large portion of the responsibility falls on them. If they were told by someone other than Aimee then that raises some interesting questions too.

Hia
Amalfimama-

This twitter quote on your post-
At at 15.07

I don’t know how twitter works if I’m honest-but would that have been seen and reported? Surely that’s a clear threat to the victim. I can’t beleive that sort of stuff is allowed to go out live for public consumption.

Amalfimamma · 28/08/2018 22:01

We don't need reporting. Nor do we need soundbites here and there. We need THE POLICE to open a very public investigation into the 3 of them and the green party.

How could the gp not know?
What internal privileges did ac and by extension DC, have?
What data were they privy too and what did they do with it?
What was their influence? Guides? Scouts?, laws?
Which social media accounts (non green party) were under their control?
Which gp social media accounts were under their control?
Why were the police under acs thumb? On Twitter the police would be all in a flutter is ac even thought that someone had even looked at Aimee sideways and they felt offended

There are a million questions to be answered and it should be an INDEPENDENT POLICE investigation into everyone and anyone who gave the challenors even the littlest bit of credibility from October 2015 on

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 28/08/2018 22:03

I'm fucking livid. I gave them time to sort themselves out and demonstrate basic humanity and an understanding that it matters whether or not little girls are being assaulted by their agents on their official premises but so far I have seen no convincing evidence of either.

Green Party statement continuation thread
MipMipMip · 28/08/2018 22:07

Is anyone prepared yo be a media spokesmen on this if we do manage to get this picked up somewhere? Or can you suggest someone?

Surprised not to have seen something from James Kirkuk yet.

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 22:07

Statement from the Green Party

www.greenparty.org.uk/news/2018/08/26/green-party-statement-aimee-challenor-stands-down-in-green-party-deputy-leadership-race/

So why were Coventry Pride informed but not the Green Party?

Green Party statement continuation thread
AngryAttackKittens · 28/08/2018 22:08

Hey, Green Party, see that statement from Coventry Pride? That is what your statement should have looked like. This is what happened/this is what the person's role in our organization was/this is when we discovered there was a problem/these are the actions we took and when we took them.

MipMipMip · 28/08/2018 22:09

I agree the police need to be involved Amalf. But we need reporting and awareness too.

The police can improve (No one can fix) this one item. But this systematic warpedness needs exposing to the general public so that they can collectively pressure the people in power.

BitOfFun · 28/08/2018 22:10

I am so glad that BarrackerBarmer's posts were reinstated n the previous thread. They really get to the crux of the matter.

Amalfimamma · 28/08/2018 22:18

MipMipMip

We need everyone and anyone who enabled, turned a blind eye to or brushed off as transphobia the whole sad story to be jailed, barred from. Public life, politics and anythinf they have ever had the slightest part of implementing, advising or giving an informed opinion on be made public, blocked and reversed to how it was before they put their stamp on it

MipMipMip · 28/08/2018 22:24

Not arguing. But if we want to stop it happening again people need to know so that they can stop it. What s that saying that if we don't learn history we are bound to repeat it?

Destinysdaughter · 28/08/2018 22:28

MipMipMip Kirkup said he was going away for 11 days and wouldn't be on Twitter for that time. Bad timing!
