GP must have a death wish.
I'll repeat this again, as its a current theme of politics in 2018. Criticism of AC will be interpreted by 'attacks' on AC. Anyone who votes Green already and sees them as a serious political force, will not be bothered by this incident. AC is 'one of them' thus an 'attack' on AC is also an 'attack' on them and their values.
People who are not part of that bubble will not be able to comprend it. They will instead apply logic to the incident. They don't see any of it as a 'threat' to their 'identity'.
The pattern is EXACTLY the same with Trump and Trump supporters.
This is why identity politics is so dangerous and difficult to crack open as containing moral abhorations - people don't want to be self critical and admit failings. Instead they would rather ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist in any way they can. They will justify the unjustifable rather than 'allow' their tribe to suffer a blow.
People are not seeing Aimee's actions as being indefensible, they only see Aimee as the 'victim of a witchhunt' in which everything is just being used to smear Aimee - and by extension themselves.
This is why scrutiny and transparency is floundering like a dying fish on the beach in 2018.
I strongly suspect there is actually no political benefit to the greens to do anything. Doing anything will alienate a core part of their vote. Unless the internal party culture takes safeguarding and vetting protocols seriously of its own accord then there is no way to force a party to change. It doesn't.
