there is no madatory requirement for poltical candidates to be DBS checked

There's 'not being dbs checked' and then there's 'everybody somehow failing to notice a major police investigation centred on the house which is the official address for the Coventry Green Party and and residence of one of its spokespeople'

AngryAttackKittens · 26/08/2018 00:23

One does rather wonder how police visits to the house could go unnoticed.

theOtherPamAyres · 26/08/2018 00:26

Aimee stood for election to Parliament in 2017, Coventry South constituency.

She remains the prospective Green parliamentary candidate, as far as I am aware ( ie viewing Coventry Green Party website).

Saidthesharktotheflyingfish · 26/08/2018 00:27

but we'd ask you to be extra careful when discussing family members or attempting to piece together any information that might identify the victim.

Could you kindly point us in the direction of where anyone has done this or is it just another way to silence us?

NameChangedAgain18 · 26/08/2018 00:29

She is currently standing for the Deputy Leadership of the Party. The contest closes next week.

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:29

The Green Party need to sort this out.

Seriously, can you vote for a Party that can't sort this out?

Our political and media system is so fucked at the moment.

Plasticgiraffe · 26/08/2018 00:32

Don't want to start a new thread for it to be deleted but think the mainstream media may start to report the full picture

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/rising-greens-star-aimee-challenor-will-not-quit-over-rapist-father-kngjwc8l5

AngryAttackKittens · 26/08/2018 00:33

There's no party I'm not pissed off with at the moment, but the Greens certainly have leaped into first place in the What The Hell Are You Playing At stakes with this.

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:34

I know people are desperately worried about the need to not punish s child for the crimes of a parent BUT Aimee showed a serious lapse of judgment AND failed to disclose a matter that would bring the Party into disrepute *.

That's a suspension issue, FFS, before we get anywhere near any question of actually mentoring and caring enough for a member/spokeswoman/candidate enough to get them to step back.

*I'm assuming, of course, the information was withheld, rather than HQ knowing and deciding it was OK to roll with it.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 26/08/2018 00:35

Thank you Angry

DC wore a dress and an adult nappy whilst sexually assaulting and torturing his ten year old female victim

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:42

That Times article is a good start.

They've missed the fact that the house in which the rape and torture took place was Coventry Green Party Membership HQ until yesterday afternoon.

And that Aimee Challenor's mother, David Challenor's wife was Membership Secretary until very recently.

Anyway, the Greens stand by Aimee, haven't suspended her membership (despite her non-disclosure to them), and continue to support her bid for Deputy Leader?

Fuck 'em.

That is NOT a Party you can trust.

That is a Jimmy Savile Party.

Just fuck them.

I'm so, so angry.

SturdyEarmuffs · 26/08/2018 00:42

From that times article

"By the time of May’s elections he had a trial date."

Destinysdaughter · 26/08/2018 00:43

Thank fuck someone has reported on this. It’s all got to come out now. And The Sunday Times!

OP posts:
thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:44

And, yes, thank you, Angry.

Oh good grief. There really is tough competition at the moment, isn't there?

But, yes, the Green Party are now at the top of my 'What are they playing at?' List. Too.

But ...

I really could cry when I think of politics at the moment.

Destinysdaughter · 26/08/2018 00:45

thecatfromjapan yes that’s a good point about the address, is anyone able to add that fact to the comments underneath The Times article?

OP posts:
thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:48

'Hello. We are the Green Party. We are prepared to lower every supervisory bar we have in order to keep our LBGTQ+ spokeswoman. I'm sorry if this all reminds you of the mass collusion around Jimmy Savile but ... frankly, we don't give a shit. We need the woke points. Can we count on your vote?'

AngryAttackKittens · 26/08/2018 00:48

Someone should, because seriously how in the hell do you not notice that your officially listed regional location is being investigated as a crime scene?

Truthmytruth · 26/08/2018 00:49

And these political members are the people our trans kids look at. Ammunition for me though as I can take all these bastards down in the knowledge that they have some other agenda. These dicks are just dicks. No credibility at all. Sheer dicks. The more they argue their ideology, the more the general public turns away. The TRA brigade underestimate the public when a 10 year old is raped and tortured. They underestimate that this resonates with both women and men. This is no longer a ‘feminist’ fight. This is a fight that any worthy human will challenge. And a man who dresses up as a child will not have any sympathy. Bastard.

ToeToToe · 26/08/2018 00:52

'The candid ate had been unaware of the crimes'

Bollocks. Just bollocks to that. The Candidate must have been aware of the crimes. Sorry - but Aimee would have been interviewed as a matter of police process. The address listed was Aimee's address. The address listed was the sae address listed for the Coventry Greens. How could Aimee have possibly been unaware?

They think we were all born yesterday.

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:53

No. No you can't have my vote. Fuck off you utter scumbags. Fuck off until you understand that violence against women and children Really Fucking Matters. Piss Off. I'm so, so sorry I ever voted for your shitty, piss poor excuse of a Party. I want my fucking votes BACK. You have no understanding of what constitutes a serious, real, ethical issue. You are a bag of platitudes, wind and shit. When it comes to the crunch, you are duplicitous, complicitous, self-serving bastards. You have NO integrity & the Party safeguards of a moral fucking blancmange.
Fuck off.

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2018 00:59

I'm sorry.

I've vented and lowered the tone.

I think I'm probably the only person on this thread who has actually ever voted for them.

I'm so sorry I did that. But I really, really cared about ecological issues. And I like Caroline Lucas.

Truthmytruth · 26/08/2018 00:59

Thecatfromjapan
Love your expletives.
There are no words other than what you said to describe the bastard.

Datun · 26/08/2018 01:01

I almost can't even get angry with them. The party I mean.

They're finished.

I can't decide if it's idiocy, misogyny or naivety.

They underestimate that this resonates with both women and men. This is no longer a ‘feminist’ fight. This is a fight that any worthy human will challenge. And a man who dresses up as a child will not have any sympathy. Bastard.

There is no way their credibility will survive this.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/08/2018 01:04

Yep. MY DH's jaw just about hit the floor reading about this. Decent men will be just as appalled by this as we are.
