Sorry it’s so tiny, I screenshotted it on my phone from Twitter! It’s a bit mealy mouthed...

Thanks for the link AAK. The story is a start but needs to go further, and I am angry that they choose not to say the DC wore dresses, and make the link that both DC and AC promote self ID. Too fucking pussy footing.

I'm not defending or minimising Talulah. The opposite, I am saying there a comprehensive and sinister lack of will to DBS check political candidates, at all levels, and this speaks to greater failures of judgement, AC included.

We are not really allowed to speculate about what AC knew about any of this, even though we may even be Green Party members about to vote in a leadership election (and concerned citizens) and have the right to know who we are voting for...

AC needs to put out a defintive and detailed statement about what they knew about allegations, investigation, charges, trial, dates, the whole thing. Or stand aside. To brazen this out is to look complicit and show contempt for the public and the victim.

If AC cannot handle this situation professionally and appropriately then they are out of their depth and unfit for their roles and they need to step away from politics and political campaigning. No excuses.

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 26/08/2018 01:06

I have just seen a tweet pointing out that (according to the Green Party's policies) they would actively support dress-wearing child rapist David Challenor should he ask to serve his sentence in a women's prison.

I don't know why, out of all the horrors I have heard about that man over the last few days, that one thing is the one that literally made me vomit from a sort of fear, but it was.

Datun · 26/08/2018 01:08

AC needs to put out a defintive and detailed statement about what they knew about allegations, investigation, charges, trial, dates, the whole thing. Or stand aside. To brazen this out is to look complicit and show contempt for the public and the victim.

Exactly.

Surely the police can confirm whether they were interviewed at the time?

NotMeOhNo · 26/08/2018 01:08

The "in plain sight" brazenry of all this is just confounding for ordinary women who would never dream of creating an environment to politically legitimise criminal abuse and activity.

Datun · 26/08/2018 01:11

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld

That is breathtaking. There are no words.

seafret · 26/08/2018 01:12

Yes, mostbeautifuldog I thought of that too. I am drafting a complaint to the Guardian if they don't publish tomorrow (and I will complain even if they do), but that occurred to me at the end of writing and was like a punch in the guts.. and I thought, how could this be stopped? Who has the power when women have so little? FFS.

Dear god/deity/universe/something, please let this peak trans EVERYBODY and bring back some sense.

seafret · 26/08/2018 01:17

I hope to god the police will put out their "own version of events" if necessary.

But I don't doubt that they are weak/frightened/complicitTRAfuckers (delete as appropriate) and may be equally minimising.

theOtherPamAyres · 26/08/2018 01:19

Hi CatfromJapan
You weren't the only one who voted for them.
I also pounded the streets, staffed the stalls, raised funds and tried to get them elected.

And they sold Women in the party down the river. Told us to budge up, shut up or ship out.
Well I did ship out, but I'll keep reminding the Leaders of the Greens of their appalling gaslighting, arrogance and hostility.

Suck it up, Green Buttercup!

carceralfeminist · 26/08/2018 01:25

These truly terrifying people have well and truly commandeered this movement. They are using "trans" and "LGBT" as some kind of "get out of jail free" card.
It grants them money, media exposure, access to politicians and lobbying groups.
It grants them access to women's spaces and children.
It lets them actually campaign to remove safeguards.
It clearly shields them from scrutiny, for fear of anyone being labelled "transphobic."
It lets activists like Paris Lees engage in complete DARVO and mock concerns about what happens to females if psychopaths like Ian Huntley claim to be a woman.
And then the political class and media elite COVER FOR THEM!
We are all supposed to pretend we don't see what is happening?

If someone is behaving like a depraved, narcissistic, abusive, piece of shit sex-offender then call them out and do not let them anywhere near women or vulnerable children. IDGAF about gender identity. This is about some frankly unhinged abusive individuals who are threatening people and minimizing responsibility; they put others at risk of assault, violence, rape, murder.

Women are practically screaming: "WAKE UP! THIS IS DANGEROUS!"

Every person who uses the word T*RF and demonizes women is complicit in this. These self-obsessed, bullying, sanctimonious, cowardly assholes will probably try to clean their hands when this all ends in a horrific mess. But it will be women and children who end up paying the real price for it.

FUCK ALL OF THIS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!

Even if the knowledge all lives on only in my mind, the minds of those I tell, or a thread on Mumsnet, I will remember this. I will never forgive them.

Truthmytruth · 26/08/2018 01:25

The safety of the child is paramount.
This should be true. The Green Party is prioritising the perpetrator. Shame on them.

Mamaryllis · 26/08/2018 01:56

Article still only says ‘dressed as a child and wearing an adult nappy’. No. Wearing a dress and calling himself ‘Lucy’. I’d like all future reports to refer to David ‘Lucy’ Challenor, who dressed as a five year old girl to perpetrate his crimes.

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/08/2018 02:09

Aimee was unaware of it all. Not according to this.

Green Party statement
Mamaryllis · 26/08/2018 02:19

That must have been extremely hard for a 17yo. But rather lends the lie to the ‘I didn’t know’ tale.
What an absolute fucking mess.

opemin123 · 26/08/2018 02:19

Aimee knowingly hired a man charged with sexual torture of a 10yr old child.
Aimee lives with this man.
Aimee did not inform the Green Party of this.
Aimee actively silences gender critical commenters
Aimee wants males in female only spaces
Aimee pro-actively elevated, and gave credibility to, a suspected paedophile and torturer, into the public sphere
This torturer had influence over or conspired with ( depending upon your view) with Aimee to get rid of 'gateways' which protect females from males.

Aimee knew for 3years.
Aimee needs to be gone.

LassWiADelicateAir · 26/08/2018 02:21

Still nothing from the BBC or The Guardian.

Amalfimamma · 26/08/2018 02:39

At the risk of getting banned

Aimee knew for 3years

Aimee knew for much longer

OlennasWimple · 26/08/2018 03:35

Holly - I reported your post with the Family Court judgment link in it, because even though it may be easily Googleable it still start with "The judgment is being distributed on the strict understanding that in any report no person other than the advocates (and other persons identified by name in the judgment itself) may be identified by name or location and that in particular the anonymity of the children and the adult members of their family must be strictly preserved" and your post broke that by clearly linking it to particular people.

We can discuss the case without breaching a court order - otherwise MNHQ will have to delete the thread for genuine reasons not BS reasons about people trying to identify the victim

BitOfFun · 26/08/2018 04:08

It was fucking illuminating reading though.

jgrobinson · 26/08/2018 04:28

Aimee Challoner addressed the West Midlands Police Force Leadership Conference in June, invited by West Midlands LGBTNetwork:

jgrobinson · 26/08/2018 04:41

And was thanked by the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police.

DuckingGoodPJs · 26/08/2018 04:51

What else do we expect from a party consisting of men and non-men?

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 26/08/2018 05:31

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/08/is-the-bbc-scared-of-the-transgender-debate/

Does anyone remember this line in James Kirkup's article:

For the avoidance of doubt, I’m not pretending to be neutral here: I think that concern is a valid one and I’m not convinced current prison policy has sufficient regard for the wellbeing of female prisoners in this context. ( There’s more to come on this issue, incidentally, but much of it is subject to court action and can’t yet be reported. But I think there are some awkward questions coming for prison chiefs and politicians alike, in due course .)

I wonder if this is what he was referring to.

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 06:36

Amalfimamma

Agreed.

TimeLady · 26/08/2018 06:37

Looking at that judgment, I think the media is being rightly cautious about making the familial connection. I wonder if Challenor Jr. thought that would be enough to brazen this out.

So in that respect, The Times would be appear to be going out on a limb on this one today, although even they are focusing on the 'unsuitable election agent' angle; I guess the lawyers have been working hard on this one. Good for them: in these days of twitter, trying to silence the press is pointless, particularly as there is such a strong public interest aspect here.

The Times' comments are filling any gaps in the story....

TerfsUp · 26/08/2018 06:45

That was an extremely mealy-mouthed statement by the Green Party.
