X posted with everyone! OK I guess I'll take it on board as I don't know as much about AC s activity as you do.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:09

A parenting site that restricts the people's ability to comment on a child abuse case. WTF?

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:10

I think whether or not any particular person feels sympathy for Aimee is a private matter and up to them, whereas whether or not Aimee remains in Aimee's current position is a matter of pubic interest.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:11

Public! My b key is broken.

stillathing · 25/08/2018 23:11

Wow. barrackers posts were the tits. Can't believe they were deleted.

thecatfromjapan · 25/08/2018 23:12

Please don't get this thread deleted!

If you want to discuss issues raised by Barraker's post, please, please start another thread.

You're right that it's an issue BUT discussing it WILL get the thread deleted - and people deserve to know about this case.

They really do - and it looks as though this is it for coverage.

Which is shit, frankly.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 23:14

I've been on MN for over 15 years.

I suspect I may get my first ban tonight.

And do you know, it's worth it.

This fucking stinks.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 23:15

There's a NightWatcher who doesn't like me, it seems.

Are they going to delete all my posts?

MichaelMumsnet · 25/08/2018 23:15

Hi all,
We're not issuing strikes - we're trying to host a conversation about an important story. Of course you can talk about David Challenor and the Green Party statement - this is in the public domain and I'm sure more details will be reported tomorrow - but we'd ask you to be extra careful when discussing family members or attempting to piece together any information that might identify the victim.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 23:16

No one, just no one, has done any "identifying of the victim".

That's completely disingenuous. And fucking offensive Hmm

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:17

Michael, nobody is trying to identify the victim. Please give your users some credit for being decent human beings.

Procrastinator1 · 25/08/2018 23:18

I think you should ask for the link to the care judgement to be deleted, HollyGibney.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 23:18

I have posted nothing deletable.

Nor has Barracker.

This is a fucking disgrace. Justine, you should be ashamed of your team Angry

HollyGibney · 25/08/2018 23:19

@Procrastinator1

Why? It's in the public domain. Anyone can find it.

ToeToToe · 25/08/2018 23:19

MichaelHQ - I don't mean to be rude - but let's be honest. The only reason discussion on this is being restricted is becuse of the trans element. I'm right.

There is rarely an issue with discussion on these cases - except legal restrictions due to anonymity of the victim.

But Barracker's posts weren't deleted because of that. They were deleted due to you capitulating to trans sensitivity. Shame on you (MNHQ). You (MNHQ) are moderating a parenting website. This is an issue for child sexual abuse and safeguarding. For shame.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:20

And Cat is right, if we're going to have a Spartacus moment (and frankly the suggestion that women here might be trying to identify a child abuse victim deserves its own one, because that's an outrageous implication to make and bears no relationship to anything said in this thread) then another thread should be started for that.

LangCleg · 25/08/2018 23:21

attempting to piece together any information that might identify the victim

WTF, Michael? Nobody has done any such thing or gone anywhere near any such thing. Are you even reading posts before deleting them? That is such a bloody offensive insinuation to make.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 25/08/2018 23:22

PutItAWayDear I completely agree.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 23:23

I've seen care judgements on mn threads before.

Why is this case different?

If someone, somewhere, gave me an explanation I'd leave it for the moment. Is there an injunction? Who made it? When/if does it expire?

Facts would be good.

thecatfromjapan · 25/08/2018 23:23

There have been posts talking about the younger children.

We have to be mindful. We have to put the children first. We owe them their privacy. Even if it may offer protection to an abuser, a rapist, a torturer.

I know that's not what Barraker did. And Barraker made some serious points - worthy of discussion. But it'll be a tricky discussion to have without deletions.

Honestly - another thread, people.

At present, this is pretty much the only media site discussing this and it's wider relevance.

And it really matters.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 23:24

In all seriousness - Micheal, do you understand that you are talking to a virtual room full of mothers? Why in the name of God would we want to put the victim in this case at risk of public exposure?

HollyGibney · 25/08/2018 23:24

Anyone can search the family law weekly site and find that judgment. It took me about 90 seconds.

Theswaggyotter · 25/08/2018 23:26

Absolutely nothing I have read here could make it possible identify the victim
However if DC’s adult child is lying to the political party they are a member of whilst maintaining their influence over safeguarding policies then that’s of public importance. Esp when they live with their father in the house the abuse took place in. And appointed them as their campaign manager after he had been charged by the police. And led a campaign to silence gender critical women via the terf blocker on Twitter. We have to question how the Green Party could not have known about this police investigation involving rape and torture at their conventry hq

MichaelMumsnet · 25/08/2018 23:26

Huge apologies - I didn't mean to make an implication. It's the general guidance around discussing this type of case.

IfNotNowThenWhen1 · 25/08/2018 23:26

Noone has tried to identify the victim! Why would we?!
