When you see threads plopped into FWR, especially the curious repeat of well worn subjects, I recommend you check for poster history before engaging.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads being referenced on twitter with screen shots & flagging in either MNHQ or outlets to try & get articles commissioned.

OP posts:
FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 00:54

heresy, that there is a big fat liar on that there thread. But so obvious and escalatingly ridiculous I have been giggling incessantly all evening. Still good value as far as lying loons go, tbf.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 00:58

What does Germaine Bunbury advise that we do when someone accuses us of being boats?

FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 01:15

I think the sainted old dear would suggest sarcastic memeing and not getting drawn into a never ending laundry list of every single trans talking point ever that just happens to be zeroed in on one poster.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 01:27

More boats, I say!

FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 01:35

Oh, most definitely. Are boats the new recipes? It's very late and I do have a ken for breakfast cereals. (It's really comically ridiculous now. I do hope no one is actually posting or reading in earnest. I've never seen quite such blatant lying)

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 01:40

It is a privilege to serve! Or should be, apparently.

FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 01:57

I need to go to sleep, but reading that thread is like picking a scab. I keep refreshing to see what outrageous Walter Mitty lie is coming next.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 02:02

I'm waiting for claims that we personally/a specific individual have made the hypothetical stepchild suicidal.

FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 02:04

Yes, either that or a sock of said imaginary translesbian step child coming on and sobbing plaintively.

FloralBunting · 13/10/2018 02:06

such bizarre analogies too. Victorian German U-boats, and now slave traders and heathens. If we were on Twitter I'd think it was a bot.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 03:21

I was going to vote for "drunk", it being the weekend and all.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/10/2018 08:44

I was thinking drunk and horny given that it was an obvious masturbatory fantasy. Let's hope it has fucked off anyway.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/10/2018 08:47

It's baaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!

heresyandwitchcraft · 13/10/2018 08:49

Jesus, this is a persistent poster. Are we thinking they want to get the thread to 1000 so that it will quietly disappear? If that happens, I will personally summarize the information and create a new thread with almost the same title, so that everyone can keep reading the facts.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 08:55

Hoping for the thread to be pulled on as a pile on, maybe?

AngryAttackKittens · 13/10/2018 08:57

I got comment 666?

(Feels smugly metal, Kvalt, even.)

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 13/10/2018 08:58

What thread...what have i missed?

Or am i on it, they all blend into one to be honest

And lots of fibbers and fantasists

It can be very interesting to come on to a brand new long thread as you can see all the twists and turns, lies and complete bollocks

And there was one where one person was complaining about words being attributed to them when they said they hadnt said them and the they were doing THE EXACT SAME THING to other posters

I can see the lies love...i can read!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 13/10/2018 09:03

Oh god and a relatively new one that i don't remember seeing much if at all

Saying that a regulars joke to another regular is obviously an attack on the poster....well what did they mean by that, why did they say it, they are saying i am a ????

Or a well known phase (maybe an FWR one) is implying something awful about the poster

And fuck me...dont use any word with the phase 'man' in it, otherwise you are accusing them of being a man! (Though i do wish we could stop that)

And there was another one that quite escapes me...ill remember it in a minute

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/10/2018 09:05

This is the one about there being more trans murders than murdered trans. There is a persistent poster who claims to be a lesbian woman in a relationship with another woman with 4 children between them, one of whom is a transwoman (no surgery) living with a lesbian. We have other gems such as suicide stats being thrown at us while the poster also claims that the DC has no mental health issues but is just in the wrong body. We are currently up to science may giver her female organs one day and then will we accept her as a woman. It's all very, very odd.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 13/10/2018 09:09

Oh goodness, ill have a look

I did read it but its obviously taken a turn...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/10/2018 09:23

It's really weird. It just keeps on and on and on and on talking mostly to itself.

arranfan · 13/10/2018 09:30

I know we feel differently about engaging with community disruptors, and context matters, but I'm always very sorry when I see a useful thread defaced by them.

The moreso when it's a thread with useful information that takes on a vandalised look and by association renders the information in it unavailable or useless.

And, even more, we have a novel situation that the Stanford and Cornell people didn't explore. We have posters attempting to goad towards a screenshot that can be exploited as proof positive of what a hate group Mumsnet is. That's always annoying but at this politically sensitive time, with less than a week to go before the consultation ends?...

Yes. That is my worry.

I agree. I think this is going to be a rocky week and personally I'm going to take extra care to avoid getting screenshot.

And while I agree about posting for lurkers, I also think that sometimes there's an even bigger picture. There's a lot of info on that murder thread and I'm sure TRAs would love to see it deleted.

Mumsnet is being characterised a certain way and as we're bracketed with FPFW, WPUK, what is said about any of us is taken to include the others. Screenshots that contribute to that are at this point when mainstream media are beginning to take notice.

The vandalism of helpful threads is a disservice to those posters who gave their time to make them useful resources.
