www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

"Shocking images on the site show an individual flashing while sitting in a train carriage, in a public park and at a bus stop.

Another photograph shows male genitals being exposed in an office close to a curved wooden desk that is strikingly similar to a picture of a work desk that Ms Bradley posted on her Facebook page. "

The photo have been archived on archive.is, you can search there under the domain exhbitionizm.tumblr.com and include lots of flashing shots.

Bradley has commented:

" I appreciate at this time there is a lot of speculation about my conduct and I am able to tell you that I am confident that none of my behaviour has been unlawful, and that I have not engaged in sexual activity with anyone, or in the view of anyone, without their consent. "

many men can lactate

Bless.

Anyway, back to the actual discussion. If the NUS have indeed hired very expensive lawyers in an attempt to prevent this hitting the media, well, too late for that now! And now in addition to the original problem they've added public anger at them trying to hush up the problem in the first place.

VickyEadie · 30/07/2018 13:15

Many women are infertile, many men can lactate. Almost all trans women can lactate. Womb transplants are likely possible within the next decade... To say nothing of intersex people!

Bingo.

ToeToToe · 30/07/2018 13:15

Oh stop it genderskeptic. You're making yourself look foolish.

Of course there is a fundamental difference between the biological sexes. My children were aware of said differences the moment they could walk and talk, and were potty trained.

I have no doubt at all that I gestated and gave birth to those babies, and my husband, a male, provided the sperm required.

My husband, one of the penis owners of this world, does not want or need access to female spaces. But then, he's never been caught exposing his penis in public either Hmm Jess Bradley has. Allegedly. And is advising the govt that such female spaces should be accessible to males identifying as women. That is what is wrong here - not our understanding of sex and gender.

leyat · 30/07/2018 13:16

Bradley has also co-founded TELI, which is an organisation set up to establish legal precedents that allow men to trample all over the rights of women and girls basically. Michelle Brewer, a co-founder, will be speaking at a WEP event soon re the GRA. No doubt she will completely ignore or otherwise excuse Jess's actions from being considered relvant to this debate....

And more to the point, the norms of Yoruba society can't be falsely crowbarred into some sort of justification for autogynephiles gaining access to women's spaces. It's illogical.

THIS

Floisme · 30/07/2018 13:17

Thank you yet again for that link R0wan. I can feel a spreadsheet coming on!

As such, a DBS offers little if any help in detecting the 'not yet caught' perverts, abusers and sex offenders.
I think this is correct. But if it were to come out that the behaviour in question went unreported but was an 'open secret' then that would be very interesting indeed.

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 30/07/2018 13:18

I think it is at least possible that it is the NUS using Carter-Ruck. They may well want to keep the fact that they've suspended one of their officers for sexual misdemeanours out of the media. It's extraordinarily embarrassing for them.

Good point hackman

ToeToToe · 30/07/2018 13:19

It is very bad press for the NUS as a whole.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/07/2018 13:19

It's like what MRAs try to do with evopsych.

"This particular beetle species has males that beat the living shit out of the females, therefore it is natural for men to dominate women. Stop talking about primates, I loves my beetles and they explain everything."

ErrolTheDragon · 30/07/2018 13:19
  • The only illogical thing is organising society on the basis that there's some fundamental difference between sexes that allows the creation of two distinct categories beyond the socially constructed.

Great! Lets get rid of all this gender nonsense then. Of course, it will necessitate cooperation from males, in particular the subsections who currently display high levels of violence and sexual predation.

Real world... we are where we are. Safeguarding is necessary. Don't blame the victims, blame the offenders. Go and harangue males.

JackyHolyoake · 30/07/2018 13:19

genderskeptic

A useful analogy for you:

Jess Bradley, first transgender student officer, suspended after flashing photos
Tinycitrus · 30/07/2018 13:19

Going after all trans people for the actions of an individual is collective punishment.

  • in what way are all trans people being ‘gone after’ whatever that means.
Bingpot · 30/07/2018 13:21

Many women are infertile, many men can lactate. Almost all trans women can lactate. Womb transplants are likely possible within the next decade... To say nothing of intersex people!

I know I shouldn't engage with this as this is just so wildly unintelligent. But you're saying infertility makes you less of a woman and is evidence that there's no sex binary. That's a disgusting argument. An infertile woman is still a woman.

And hey, while we're at it, please go ahead and evidence your frankly hilarious claim that almost all transwomen can lactate.

VickyEadie · 30/07/2018 13:21

But if it were to come out that the behaviour in question went unreported but was an 'open secret' then that would be very interesting indeed.

Yes - it's the due diligence that wasn't done when Toby Young got a job he shouldn't have got, isn't it? (NB This is an analogy, and not in any way suggestive that Mr Young is in any way connected with this story or activities) A bit of a check on someone's 'in plain sight' internet history (which is really, really easy to do) can offer very good information as to whether a person is suitable for a specific job, to advise on important issues, etc.

Floisme · 30/07/2018 13:21

Bradley has also co-founded TELI, which is an organisation set up to establish legal precedents that allow men to trample all over the rights of women and girls basically. Michelle Brewer, a co-founder, will be speaking at a WEP event soon re the GRA.
Right - so do we have a link here between Bradley and WEP?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 30/07/2018 13:22

We can argue 'til the cows come home about minutiae, essential the while issue boils down to one question;

Which is most important, women's right to safety or men's right to self-identify?

And if you find yourself arguing the case for the latter, you have to ask yourself why exactly are you doing that.

Ereshkigal · 30/07/2018 13:23

I think we are going to need a trello wall.

R0wantrees · 30/07/2018 13:24

I suggest you cite someone a little more reputable

Dr Az Hakeem has written the opening explanatory chapters of the book Trans, Exploring Gender Identity and Gender Dsyphoria. A Guide for everyone (including health professionals)

It was published earlier this year.

LemonJello should design it.

Tinycitrus · 30/07/2018 13:24

hackmum yes it makes more sense that CarterRuck would be protecting the reputation of the NUS rather than one individual.

I wonder what the NUS policy is around appropriate circumstances for instructing prestigious legal firms such as Carter Ruck.

If I’d known I’d probably have asked them to sue my landlord when I was a student Grin

WEP have proposed a motion in support of Self ID. I wonder if this will make them pause for thought? It should.

Women and children's safeguarding comes first - every time.

JackyHolyoake · 30/07/2018 13:26

ILikeyourHairyHands

Given that to live in safety is a fundamental human right, I advocate for the former.
