I used to like a Goblin Meat Pie as a kid - 10p and you boiled it in the little tin it came in. That's another one that didn't specify the meat (unless it was actually goblin meat).

Haslet is from Lincolnshire, and you can't seem to get it in London. My nan used to call it "head cheese" because you made it with all the bits of meat boiled off a pig's head, cut up small and stuck together with the jelly.

In more pertinent news, this thread inspired Friday night's dinner: fish finger sandwiches. I got the last pack of Birds Eye in tescos!

you need the 28 pack. I have about 50 fishfingers in the freezer at present. all birds eye. they are better then the generics, and not much more in cost if you buy 28 pack.

I will look out for the bigger packs!

The ten pack does nicely for two of us: four in each sandwich plus one each on the side.
