I'm hungry now. Think I will raid the freezer to see what's in there.

Bumbungo · 24/07/2018 13:51

Honest to fuck....

Anyone want to tell Birdseye they appreciate freedom of speech and women's rights
ErrolTheDragon · 24/07/2018 13:58

Well, hopefully birds eye will alleviate her concern by letting her know they've checked and MN does not tolerate transphobia (though tbf bigotry on other issues may be allowed as free speech on other subjects)

bigotry: intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself.

Did that twitterer just disappear in a puff of logic?

BlackeyedSusan · 24/07/2018 14:21

I do love birds eye fish fingers. The best.

terryleather · 24/07/2018 14:28

I will not be swayed Bum! Grin

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 15:34

I like tartare sauce in a fish finger sarnie but tomato ketchup too is a step too far!

I'm still laughing at the sanctimonious tweet to Birds Eye.

The last time they did this, didn't the Birds Eye Twitter account just keep saying "potato" to them?

terryleather · 24/07/2018 15:47

Lang
I cant believe that tartare & ketchup is a step to far for the woman who invented Weetabix Banana Horror but each to their own! Grin

Yup, that tweet had me snorting with laughter - what a (Birds Eye Chicken) nugget as we would say round these parts!

terryleather · 24/07/2018 15:57

Lordy my spelling today is Shock- too not too obvs

Bumbungo · 24/07/2018 16:02

What was the potato thing?

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 16:08

I cant believe that tartare & ketchup is a step to far for the woman who invented Weetabix Banana Horror but each to their own!

I'm never going to live that down, am I?

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 16:09

What was the potato thing?

I'm sure they all started tweeting moans at Birds Eye for advertising on Mumsnet before and the BE Twitter account just kept answering in one word: potato.

But it might be someone else?

terryleather · 24/07/2018 16:24

You may have invented WBH Lang, but at least you can spell - unlike me!Grin

NanaNoodleman · 24/07/2018 16:27

Tartare sauce AND ketchup?
WTF have I never thought of this before?

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 16:29

Is there a Birds Eye alternative to WBH, I wonder?

terryleather · 24/07/2018 16:30

It is freakin delicious Nana you will not be sorry.

NanaNoodleman · 24/07/2018 16:31

On a serious note, some of these self proclaimed doctors seem to sail awfully close to the wind with their tweets from a professional ethics perspective.
I’m not sure dr harrops registration would survive GMC scrutiny of his twitter account - or perhaps their standards aren’t that high?

terryleather · 24/07/2018 16:32

Maybe if you mashed up a Potato Waffle with banana and milk...?

placemats · 24/07/2018 16:36

I have to run down my freezer before I stock up on Birdseye but my guess is that the supermarkets have already run out of the following:

Fish fingers (bring back battered fish fingers please)
Battered Chicken dippers
Tartare sauce - it is delicious with ketchup I just didn't think for one minute anyone else on the planet liked this combo.

terryleather · 24/07/2018 16:43

Yay placemats I knew I couldn't be the only one who loved T & K together!

Absolutely loved the battered fish fingers, they were lush...am getting hungry now...

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 24/07/2018 16:52

WTAF

Can you imagine someone writing a political thriller with this storyline. It's beyond parody and accelerating

placemats · 24/07/2018 17:46

I know tartare sauce and ketchup is a weird combination but I'd no idea it was political. Or that anyone would want to make a thriller out of it. Who would star in such a feisty story line? Spongebob?

ToeToToe · 24/07/2018 17:49

Absolute scenes over on the Birds Eye Twitter. They are raging.

Obviously this amount of anger over a frozen food company advertising with Mumsnet makes them appear very rational, and all round nice-guys. You know, the sort of people you like to have around.... Not.

placemats · 24/07/2018 17:53

No way am I sharing any battered fish finger sandwiches with them.

ToeToToe · 24/07/2018 17:55

No. They can get their own Wink
