Why “Get The L Out” ?
July 5, 2018
Angela C. Wild
Who We Are

Get the L Out is a group of lesbian and feminist individuals and organisations, opposing the increasingly anti-lesbian and misogynistic LGBT movement and the erasure of lesbians

Why We Protest

We believe that lesbian rights are under attack by the trans movement and we encourage lesbians everywhere to leave the LGBT and form their own independent movement, as well as to be vocal and take action against the proposed changes to the GRA.

Get the L Out believes trans politics (with uncritical support from the LGBT movement) does the following:

Promotes the social transition of lesbians, encouraging them to present as straight men thus favouring the pretence of heterosexuality over lesbianism – this is nothing more than a form of conversion therapy.
Promotes the medical transition of lesbians and pushes harmful drugs (untested hormone blockers, Lupron etc.) as well as unnecessary medical practices on perfectly healthy bodies – these are a form of misogynist medical abuse against lesbians.
Promotes the rights of heterosexual males who “identify” as women and lesbians (despite most of them still retaining their male genitals) over the rights of lesbians to choose their sexual partners. This new ‘queer’ LGBT politics thus coerces lesbians to accept the penis as a female organ and promotes heterosexual intercourse between male and female as a form of lesbian sex. This is simply a new facet to rape culture and compulsory heterosexuality." (continues)

*The article says 'Councillor Philip Scott, who also sits on the children and families services committee, said the latest actions “do not look good at all” for the administration.

He said: “You would have thought Gregor would have learned from previous occasions that this really is not a good example to be setting.'*

@ DundeeCouncil are introducing Free Sanitary products within their schools for 'those who menstruate'. The words 'girl', 'woman' or 'female' do not feature once in the report. Transgender men and NB do though. @grogipher is the chair of the committee that approved it.

An equalities spokesperson who calls women 'cnts' and 'roasters', uses language like 'feminist shite' and thinks 50/50 Representation is p**. A councillor who approves a report about period poverty in schools and somehow erases all traces of girls and young women from it."

In the report they mention the simultaneous introduction of gender neutral toilets

I mean are they made or what? They really think schoolboys won't be chucking them all over the place and contaminating them?

Times article today:
"Lesbians have accused Stonewall, the gay rights organisation, of erasing biological women by saying that “male-bodied persons with penises” can be lesbians.

The Lesbian Rights Alliance (LRA) has sent an open letter to Stonewall demanding that it take the L out of LGBTQ because it makes “lesbians invisible and erases lesbians through its promotion of the Trans Agenda”.

The 135 signatories say that Stonewall supports the “absurd idea that male-bodied persons with penises can be lesbians”.

They say that lesbians are biological women who are sexually attracted to, and have sexual and emotional relationships with other biological women only.

They wrote: “If we refuse to accept these men as lesbians you label us transphobes and ‘Terfs’, unleashing a torrent of hate speech upon us from your supporters.”

Transgender activists refer to women who disagree with them as “Terfs” — trans-exclusionary radical feminists.

The LRA said: “We urge you to stop claiming to represent us and leave the L out.”

The Cuckoo in the Nest

“It doesn’t make ANY difference what genitals someone has!” A very sneery teenager barked this statement at me during a discussion about gender identity and the recent London Pride parade. We were referencing a group of lesbians who had moved to the front of the parade and carried banners protesting their erasure from the LGBT movement and the swelling tide of transgender dogma which says lesbianism could, even should, involve biological males.

Much has already been written about the reasons for this action [*1]. I’m not a lesbian and it wouldn’t be fair of me to speak for the women involved. However, were I in their place, I would certainly feel betrayed and abandoned by a movement which was supposed to protect my rights and safety. Lesbianism means “Female homosexual”; women who are same-sex attracted. It does not involve males or male genitalia. If the LGBT community itself will attack and pillory women for making what should be such obvious and basic statements, we know something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Over recent months I have seen lesbians vilified and abused for trying to define their own sexual boundaries, described as Nazis for daring to suggest that that their sexuality does not include male reproductive organs. I have read articles you’d swear were satire describing how lesbians should learn to love ‘girl dick’ [2]. One of them, published in Autostraddle [3], even schools lesbians in how to stimulate an erect penis and perform fellatio. There is a YouTube video in which an older transwoman encourages a nervously giggling ‘babydyke’ (their word) to have sex with ‘trans ladies’ [4]. The infamous Riley J Dennis makes YouTube videos telling lesbians that rejecting penis makes them ‘transphobic’ and likens having a ‘genital preference’ when dating to being a racist [5].

What makes me really uncomfortable is that most of these articles and videos are aimed at the young. I can’t imagine the effect they must have on young lesbians who are only just beginning to understand and explore their sexuality. Biological males coercing and blackmailing young women into having sex with them… In any other context, we’d call that grooming." (continues)

Excellent article! Very clear.

ladyslattern · 18/07/2018 07:36

Second that! My 12 yo DD accepts the trans activist line wholesale. Problem is I see biological sex as the (usually, intersex excepted) fixed factual anatomy/physiology based reality and gender as the expression of this, it’s not fixed, means different things to different individuals, cultures. Trans ideology holds that brains are male or female (or binary or whatever of the numerous genders we are told exist) and you’re lucky if you’re biological sex and innate gender are the same. If transwomen would ask nicely I would love to have a dialogue about how we accommodate everyone, but TA is the most extreme anti liberal ideology I’ve ever personally encountered. I stumbled into this a few months ago on social media and have been astonished at the threats made to women who question, the shutting down of debate both in RL and online. I am trying to pluck up the courage to raise this st my Labour Women’s meetings but I’m afraid that TAs will turn up and at best stop debate and at worse punch me (a la Tara Woolf, the masked creatures that intimidated and stopped Julie Bindel getting into a women’s meeting where transgender was being discussec) at best “call me out” (ugh, it has echoes of the Cultural Revolution in China) for being “transphobic”. In RL transwomen I know are fine, I don’t think I even have an issue, their spokes people and activists are letting them down. The amazing lesbians who demanded to have a place at Pride have my utter respect. Sarah Ditums article in Nrw Statesman really good read.

transpridebrighton.org/archive/guidance-in-the-event-of-an-anti-trans-protest-at-trans-pride-brighton/

Issued last weekend:

GUIDANCE – IN THE EVENT OF AN ANTI-TRANS PROTEST AT TRANS PRIDE BRIGHTON
In the light of the recent anti-trans protest at Pride in London, and the current hostile atmosphere towards transgender people in the British media, we have produced the following reference guide on how to react if such an event happens at Trans Pride 2018. We do not have any specific threat or intelligence of any protests, and indeed we do not expect an anti-trans protest, however it makes sense to prepare. (continues)

In the event of an anti-trans protest, we ask you to please observe the following key requests (an explanation of the importance of this follows):

DO NOT approach the protestors
DO NOT speak to the protestors
DO NOT look at the protestors
DO NOT throw anything at the protestors (obviously!)
DO NOT point at, or even acknowledge the existence of the protestors!
And also:

DO follow the instructions and guidance of the march stewards and security
DO consider filming the situation if you feel threatened, or feel others are being threatened
DO keep your distance from the protestors, particularly if you are a trans person – they are likely to try to attempt to provoke or make it look like you’ve approached them
We accept that some of this this may come across as extreme and tone-policing, however the anti-trans protestors have a clearly demonstrated desire to portray transgender people as violent and abusive – a characterisation we all know to be absurd, however their previous activities show this is a common tactic. They will attempt to obtain photography and video which portrays trans people (trans women and assigned-male-at-birth nonbinary people in particular) as dangerous. At previous protests they have been observed attempting to photograph people’s crotch areas, obtain upskirt images, to goad people into reacting so that they can film and edit the response. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT!

Please remember that anything which helps them will harm the most vulnerable of our community first – trans women and transfeminine people of colour, sex workers, those who do not pass as cisgender. We have a plan for how to handle such protests which does not involve any engagement with the protestors and can be executed in a safe and peaceful manner. Your co-operation with these requests will assist us in executing the plan with minimal risk."

Thats interesting, R0wantrees. I'd like to unpick it a little.

In the light of the recent anti-trans protest at Pride in London, and the current hostile atmosphere towards transgender people in the British media...

That's an interesting perspective. Do you think the organizers genuinely think the atmosphere has changed?

DO NOT approach the protestors
DO NOT speak to the protestors
DO NOT look at the protestors
DO NOT throw anything at the protestors (obviously!)

Love the way they say "obviously" when at Pride London it was reported that a transwoman was arrested after throwing a bottle at the lesbian protesters, which struck a police officer.

...the anti-trans protestors have a clearly demonstrated desire to portray transgender people as violent and abusive – a characterisation we all know to be absurd...

Maria MacLachlan was clearly hallucinating her assault by a transwoman, as was the judge who found Tara Wolf guilty. Presumably all the women trapped in the staircase at Bristol were imagining it too.

At previous protests they have been observed attempting to photograph people’s crotch areas, obtain upskirt images...

That just sounds like DARVO. So 8 middle aged lesbians are taking upskirt videos? Highly fucking likely.

And finally to goad people into reacting - women are not going to goad males into reacting. Transwomen feel safe goading or threatening, whereas women try very hard to keep things non confrontational. That's why the Pride London lesbian protesters laid down, in a classic peaceful protest.

R0wantrees · 24/07/2018 18:56

Prawn it is interesting.

I wonder who was on the committee which came up with this document.

OP posts:
Italiangreyhound · 24/07/2018 19:17

I can't imagine any lesbians protesting at a trans March. The lesbians were at an L GBT event!

That just sounds very paranoid but also quite sensible since people engaging negatively with any genuine protesters does put the 'anti protesrers' in a bad light.

Ereshkigal · 24/07/2018 22:33

That just sounds like DARVO. So 8 middle aged lesbians are taking upskirt videos? Highly fucking likely.

The whole thing is one long DARVO.

Particularly this shameful emotional blackmail:

Please remember that anything which helps them will harm the most vulnerable of our community first – trans women and transfeminine people of colour, sex workers, those who do not pass as cisgender.

I don’t understand why it isn’t homophobic to deny that Anne Lister was a gender non conforming lesbian? This is painting lesbians out of history. I’m confused.

Yes, he’s totally clueless, isn’t he.

“I thought the movement was supposed to be about inclusion and acceptance” - seriously? Lesbianism is supposed to be about the inclusion of males?

Good to hear her speak, though. At least the argument seems to be getting out there a bit more.
