Why “Get The L Out” ?
July 5, 2018
Angela C. Wild
Who We Are

Get the L Out is a group of lesbian and feminist individuals and organisations, opposing the increasingly anti-lesbian and misogynistic LGBT movement and the erasure of lesbians

Why We Protest

We believe that lesbian rights are under attack by the trans movement and we encourage lesbians everywhere to leave the LGBT and form their own independent movement, as well as to be vocal and take action against the proposed changes to the GRA.

Get the L Out believes trans politics (with uncritical support from the LGBT movement) does the following:

Promotes the social transition of lesbians, encouraging them to present as straight men thus favouring the pretence of heterosexuality over lesbianism – this is nothing more than a form of conversion therapy.
Promotes the medical transition of lesbians and pushes harmful drugs (untested hormone blockers, Lupron etc.) as well as unnecessary medical practices on perfectly healthy bodies – these are a form of misogynist medical abuse against lesbians.
Promotes the rights of heterosexual males who “identify” as women and lesbians (despite most of them still retaining their male genitals) over the rights of lesbians to choose their sexual partners. This new ‘queer’ LGBT politics thus coerces lesbians to accept the penis as a female organ and promotes heterosexual intercourse between male and female as a form of lesbian sex. This is simply a new facet to rape culture and compulsory heterosexuality." (continues)

What about all the other diddums who didn't like their staged corporate parade being made into a political march for homosexual rights by lesbians?

This is the bald, unvarnished truth. Cut through the bullshit and this is what is left.

LonginesPrime · 09/07/2018 08:18

Yes, when are Stonewall, Pride and DIVA going to respond to that?

Stonewall boycotted pride months ago for racial inclusion reasons and officially supported Black Pride yesterday instead.

LangCleg · 09/07/2018 08:19

BlytheByName - Twitter is a cesspit of vile misogyny. Don't be disheartened by what you find there. Look after yourself. I think you and your sisters are wonderful women and brave lesbians. You are what Pride should be about.

ColePorter · 09/07/2018 08:21

I posted this on the first thread about the protest, I'm happy to say again thank you @BlytheByName and fellow protestors for taking a stand and speaking the truth Flowers

ballsballsballs · 09/07/2018 08:21

Blythe we're with you brave wimms. Flowers

ChattyLion · 09/07/2018 08:43

Total support for you Blythe and protestors. Great statement from GTLO. Flowers

It seems that Stonewall, Aimee Challoner and NUS LGBT are calling for resignation of Pride London organisers

Mirror Article
Now a transgender woman has launched a petition - signed by more than 1,200 people - calling on the organisers to stand down.

The open letter from Aimee Challenor, 20, from Coventry, said permitting the protesters to lead the march was "horrific exclusionary behaviour

"I hope now Pride in London will make a full apology, and will allow new people to take the reins

The National Union of LGBT students also released a statement slamming the organisers.

It said: "Today, transphones were allowed free rein at London Pride, distributing leaflets and carrying banners with anti-trans messages, facing little to no resistance from organisers of the event.

"At an event intended to celebrate our achievements and remember our struggles, allowing hateful transphobia is nothing short of shameful.

"This is why we are joining several other LGBT+ organisations in calling for a full resignation of the current Pride in London organising committee, as well as a public acknowledgment and apology for that harm that has been done."

Stonewall Statement
But the event was marred by a transphobic group at the front of the march and the decisions Pride in London’s leadership team made about this ‘protest’.

(this isn't a new thing)
Two years ago Stonewall board and leadership team wrote to Pride in London to express concern about the power imbalance between Pride in London and UK Black Pride. We were concerned that Pride in London weren’t using their power and privilege to support people who face marginalisation both in and outside our community.

Not everyone was safe - trans people were left feeling exposed and alienated by their own community.

Pride in London had a duty to act and protect trans people yesterday. They didn’t. They had a duty to condemn the hatred directed at trans people. They didn’t.

(concludes)
Be an active, fierce ally. Show up and we will win this fight. Together we are stronger "

From February 2018:

'Stonewall quits Pride in London over race but people of color disagree'

(extract)
"Stonewall will work with Pride In London if they ‘rectify mistakes’
The charity also said they would stay involved with Pride in London in he future, so long as the organization rectifies its mistakes accordingly."

Blythe twitter is currently full of hatred and violent threats against women. I can now only go on there is short bursts to try and fight the good fight. Protect yourself when you need to because this shit is corrosive and harmful to all women.

I have been disgusted by what I have seen. It has broken my heart this weekend.

Article Gay Star News 2 July 2018

[[www.gaystarnews.com/article/pride-stonewall-support-apology/ Prides slam Stonewall for failing to support them, demand apology:
In a survey of UK Prides, the country’s leading LGBT charity was rated just ‘three out of 10’ ]]

"Prides slam Stonewall for failing to support them, demand apology
In a survey of UK Prides, the country’s leading LGBT charity was rated just ‘three out of 10’

(extracts)
Pride events across Britain are calling for a public apology from leading LGBT charity Stonewall, GSN can exclusively reveal.

They are also demanding the charity changes its ways, with one Pride accusing it of ‘acting like the bloody LGBT police’. Other Prides accuse Stonewall of taking credit for their work but failing to support them.

Gay Star News has obtained a copy of the results of the survey of Pride organisers. The UK Pride Organisers Network will present the report to Stonewall when they meet with the charity in the next few minutes.

And it is likely to make uncomfortable reading for the charity... (continues)

The survey indicates Pride groups have a number of complaints about Britain’s leading lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender charity, going back a number of years.

But two events appear to have triggered the UK Pride Organisers Network and European Pride Organisers Association to survey their members....

The report contains detailed comments from many of the organisers of Prides around the UK.

While some recognize the ‘great work [Stonewall does] for the LGBT+ community’, most of the comments are negative.

One Pride said: ‘They are like a bank rather than a charity. [They] hold vast amounts of cash reserves whilst LGBT need goes unmet and other LGBT charities making a difference on the ground are closing.’

Stonewall had an income of £7,246,000 ($9,530,000, €8,184,000) last year. When their last financial year ended, on 30 September 2017, they held almost £5million ($6.6million, €5.6million) of reserves.

Several of the Prides say Stonewall doesn’t attend their events. When the charity does attend, the Prides claim they haggle for the lowest possible cost for a stall. On average, Prides make around a quarter of their income from selling market stalls.

Others accuse Stonewall of failing to be involved in local LGBTI communities, only visiting their town or city once a year.

Many of the Prides accuse the charity of ‘profiteering’ from their events. They suggest Stonewall should work in partnership with them and even provide financial support....

The biggest take-away from the comments from Prides which completed the survey is that Stonewall should work in partnership with them.

They want the charity to show ‘humility’. Some indicated Stonewall currently tries to control what Prides do. One called on the organisation to ‘Stop acting like the bloody LGBT Police. They need to “get over it”.’

The UK Pride Organisers Network report makes several recommendations.

They ask Stonewall to share the profits from Primark between Prides and organisations working in Turkey, Myanmar and China.

In addition they want Stonewall chief executive, Ruth Hunt, to say sorry. They want her to acknowledge ‘the disquiet among Pride organisers about their conduct’ and commit to working with Prides in future.

Moreover, they want Stonewall to promise they won’t take any future sponsorship or fundraising deal that ‘includes the word Pride’. This is likely to prove a difficult pledge for Stonewall to make, given their need to fundraise."

Someone must be punished. This is a great opportunity for them to wield the punishment rod and put fear into people. They don't realise every time they do that more and more people wake up. This ball is rolling downhill and picking up pace.

Stilettosandan0venglove · 09/07/2018 09:08

R0wan Thanks for posting the Get The L Out statement. It's wonderful.

Blythe your protest was brave, beautiful and inspiring. Thank you.

The ridiculous vitriol aimed at you actually illustrates why your protest was necessary. If it is wrong to say lesbian = female homosexual, then clearly a fuckup has occurred.

I think a letter to the Guardian is a good idea too. Every time a bit of light is shed on what is happening, new people begin to understand.

Last night I replied to a TRA poster on the very important thread which contains many of the key concerns about women and children:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3297067-Mumsnet-moderation-response-to-yesterdays-feedback

kitchenrollinrollinrollin said, "You do not have the political corner or the media corner."

I replied, "This statement of yours is true and therein is the central issue.

Its about power."

Agree with everyone else who is shocked at the utterly shit reaction to this totally valid, peaceful and important protest by lesbians protesting against misogynistic and homophobic authoritarianism- at a protest march for the rights of homosexual people. -Exactly what Pride purports to be for.

All the ‘LGBT’ and Pride organisations publicly turning on the L this weekend is disgusting. At least historically they wanted to keep up the appearance of being inclusive of lesbians while centring men.
Hopefully the big sponsors will start seeing through this and they will pull out (but not for the reasons the organisers think..).

FloralBunting · 09/07/2018 09:14

Good morning brave and fabulous women!

Blythe, you have so many at your back. I even stuck my head above the parapet on Facebook yesterday, too.

Clinicalwaste · 09/07/2018 09:36

If I had read this statement a few years ago I would have thought it was from a fantasy sci-fi movie. I am horrified that this is what lesbians are actually experiencing. I have seen advocates for lesbian Erasure on twitter and there is much condemnation of lesbians peacefully protesting. Sadly most of this homophobia seems to be coming from very young men and women. This really is 1984.

ImPreCis · 09/07/2018 09:37

Thank you R0wan for posting this. Completely agree that this is all about power.
Blythe stay strong. So many people are proud of you all. What you did was extraordinary, so well thought out and unbelievably brave of you.

stillathing · 09/07/2018 09:41

horrified by all this. and in awe of blythe

Floisme · 09/07/2018 09:46

Blythe I was going to say pretty much what MsMcWoodle said so I'll repeat it.
You did an amazing thing. You should be very proud. Well done and be careful.

I have to admit, the reaction is scary. But it shows you've got under their skin and boy are they rattled.

I wonder what George Orwell would have made of all this? So many double negatives and invented terms. Cislesbian, natal lesbian, trans lesbian, where a man he would have probably have called a 'transvestive' can grow their hair a bit, wear a pink hoodie and declare themselves a lesbian. It's hard to decode.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 09/07/2018 10:05

Just want to add my voice to support you Blythe. You have done something brave in the current climate. Lesbians asserting their sexual boundaries at Pride should not cause this amount of vitriol.

Stay strong and I hope you have good support in real life too.!

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 09/07/2018 10:14

I have been amazed by the fact that positive tweets have been top of the #pride #prideinlondon and #pridelondon hashtags. So many people are supportive, grateful and inspired!

Lesbianequalsfemalehomosexual · 09/07/2018 10:18

I hope what Blythe and her friends have done will be the beginning of a huge powerful articulate unstoppable backlash against this misogyny. I'll do anything I can. I'm so so proud abd feel like my bolshy dykey little 20 year old self going on proper Pride marches back in the glorious day.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/07/2018 10:19

The Times said 'anti-trans' too, on a photojournalism type bit that doesn't seem possible to get a link to.

But interesting juxtaposition, it followed this
