Last post on this if this was the message that they were only getting across lesbians should rightly be with a teansperson if they dont want , i personally think they protrayed it badly. As i clearly have been lead to believe its about other things to (anti trans) hence posting in this thead.

chicken2015 · 07/07/2018 21:12

Shouldnt

Datun · 07/07/2018 21:12

Yeah, not going to answer, are you.

Apt user name.

BettyDuMonde · 07/07/2018 21:12

Oh FFS!

It’s Saturday night and I’m a bit tipsy so I might be less polite than usual but it is never ok to police

Mogleflop · 07/07/2018 21:14

What? Confused

BettyDuMonde · 07/07/2018 21:14

Oops.

... a great woman’s sexual boundaries.

I’m so straight I’m on my third husband, but I stand with my lesbian sisters against lesbophobia.

Not everyone wants to fuck you. Get over it.

R0wantrees · 07/07/2018 21:24

chicken there is a thread here that many have found helpful when they are new to the issues:

FermatsTheorem · 07/07/2018 21:25

@BlytheByName haven't got anywhere near the end of the thread yet, but just seen that you're on it - raises beer in salute. Well done all of you.

(Yes, I am a middle aged straight woman. Wouldn't want to date a transman with a vulva - or for that matter a fake penis fashioned from part of their forearm. Funnily enough, though, I'm under no pressure to do so. Wonder why that could be? Cough patriarchy cough )

Lottapianos · 07/07/2018 21:38

Bloody well done to those women. I cannot believe how hard lesbians are fighting just to be acknowledged, heard and recognised. What do they think the L in LGBT stands for? Oh that's right, they only give a shit about T

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 07/07/2018 21:40

BlytheByName, another heartfelt thank you and well bloody done to you and your sisters at the march today. God some days I'm proud to be female.

Someone earlier in the thread (I think WritersBlock2?) talked about needing to link actions and groups up. Of course. But also: transactivism has taken the top down approach. They've targetted boardrooms and CEOs and governments. Whereas we are grassroots. We are actual people living actual lives and doing actual individual things and that ultimately, I'm sure, is going to be what will turn out to matter.

I say "we". Today "we" means ten brilliant women. Yesterday it meant #ManFriday. Tomorrow and the next day and the next it will be other women. We are all "we", if you see what I mean.

Themostbeautiful you reminded me of this poem.

BeUpStanding · 07/07/2018 21:52

Absolutely brilliant. Well done you wonderful women you

GET THE 'L' OUT!!

OvaHere · 07/07/2018 21:54

Something that occurred to me, I don't know if anyone has an answer for this or if stats are available.

Lesbian women are quite a small group statistically within the female population. Straight men are a much larger group, approx half the population.

How long before a tipping point is reached where males identifying as lesbians outnumber female lesbians by a significant amount? Are we already past that tipping point?

*Actually they are probably more than half the male population. Not sure how many men exactly are straight or bi.

MipMipMip · 07/07/2018 22:03

Negative coverage isn't negative. It gets people wondering. Then it's a case of giving them more info.

Thekitten · 07/07/2018 22:06

I was there and found it ridiculous of them. The stony silence from the crowd where I was and booing of them later down the parade goes to show how out of touch this protest group is.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 07/07/2018 22:10

Is it not a bit embarrassing to be part of a movement that boos lesbians who are asserting a boundary?

UpstartCrow · 07/07/2018 22:11

Shaming women for not wanting dick, how very original.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 07/07/2018 22:13

www.theguardian.com/theguardian/2014/feb/25/historical-links-paedophile-group The paedophile information exchange had a float at pride. The fact that this event passed without boos, but lesbians marching is somehow offensive speaks volumes to me.

Ereshkigal · 07/07/2018 22:13

Agree. Which is why TRA twitter is desperately trying to de-lesbian them for having the temerity to challenge the bullshit.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 07/07/2018 22:14

The comments in real time on the pink news video are scary tbh. Death and rape threats, 'she's so ugly', 'she looks like a man', 'she's really a transman' etc.
Shameful.

Datun · 07/07/2018 22:14

Oh dear. Good job we have equality law to confirm exactly how out of touch you are with the legal reality.

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2018 22:14

The crowd was just out for the show.

Them ladies was brave

Great job

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 07/07/2018 22:20

.' The stony silence from the crowd where I was and booing of them later down the parade goes to show how out of touch this protest group is.'

Not in the least.
Actions like this are designed to get attention, not pats on the head.
