Well done Blythe and team! Amazing. Now you will get heaps more support at the next pride. From little things big things grow.

I suggest a massive fucking banner at the start of the march saying:

HOMOSEXUALITY IS TRANSPHOBIC

And then underneath in smaller writing:

Apparently. #getthelout

NotMeOhNo · 07/07/2018 22:23

Let's see how they like that slogan!

Bespin · 07/07/2018 22:26

all peacefully protest as to be supported even if not believed in. I personally think all it will show to people is how much they are on there own in this and others will show there support for trans rights.

Snappity · 07/07/2018 22:27

I was there and found it ridiculous of them. The stony silence from the crowd where I was and booing of them later down the parade goes to show how out of touch this protest group is.

They have ensured and every member of the LGBTI community in the country now knows that trans identities and rights are being threatened by a small group of activists. My guess is that the call will now go out for all the LGBTI community to respond positively to the GRA consultation. Nothing like visible adversity to get supporters to act.

I tell you what I find interesting in all this, is activists insistence in pushing classical terms like “cis” but totally ignoring “homosexual”.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 07/07/2018 22:31

I thought everyone who was interviewed from the protest group was very clear in what the issues were.
If you don't think they're important, fine.
As a lesbian who doesn't consider prostate-owners among potential sexual partners, this is the first time in a long time I've been represented on London's pride march.
It's given me a huge feeling of joy.

Always.

FloralBunting · 07/07/2018 22:34

Visible adversity. Pfft.

Ten lesbians restating what a lesbian actually is and then laying down in the road.

Oh the literal violence. It's unbearable!

Ereshkigal · 07/07/2018 22:35

I'm delighted for you, you have had this shit for years and the appropriation of lesbian sexuality also reflects the appropriation of womanhood as a whole ThanksWine

FloralBunting · 07/07/2018 22:36

bespin frankly I think at this stage the lesbians would be quite happy to be 'on their own' as long as they can state openly and clearly that they don't do the male sex, by definition and without apology.

NanaNoodleman · 07/07/2018 22:38

Pride has become a bit irrelevant hasn’t it. Never even had occasion to notice it since it bought into the genderist status quo.
Good to see some genuinely clear, hard hitting messages being delivered which challenge woolly thinking.

SuperDandy · 07/07/2018 22:38

Negative coverage is bound to be the result if you impose yourself at the front of an organised parade, usurping the lead place given to NHS staff.

Handing out leaflets that explicitly accuse the trans movement and LGBT politics of coercing lesbians to have sex with men (not just some nasty TRAs mind, the whole trans movement) and that refer to ' so-called "trans women" ' at the very front of a parade intended to celebrate inclusivity and diversity seems calculated to cause maximum negative publicity.

Especially given that literature handed out during the parade is subject to foresight by the parade organisers for everyone else.

I can see you've got plenty of attention, and I'm sure that makes you feel very well pleased with the action.

You may have over-egged the pudding though. The banner saying transactivism erases lesbians for instance. Yes, some transactivists are behaving inexcusably towards lesbians, but marching at the front with a banner accusing a whole movement of being complicit is not going to help you get the ear of the masses.

And before you jump on me, no I do not think it's ok to tell anyone they must have sex or consider having sex with anyone else or any other class of person and no I do not condone rape culture or the erasure of lesbians.

Bespin · 07/07/2018 22:40

FloralBunting have you seen the l. and t # that shows otherwise I have never liked aspects of the LGB community who police who can define as LGB and over there have been a number of different issues no one speaks for any of these communities not even stonewall

R0wantrees · 07/07/2018 22:41

I think it likely that some of the protesters will be interviewed.

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2018 22:42

Just be nice women. Cmon

UpstartCrow · 07/07/2018 22:44

Definitions are exclusionary by nature. People who don't fit the legal definition can make their own names and movement.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 07/07/2018 22:44

Yes don’t protest where the men are, heavens! Don’t spoil it for the men of LGBT.

PlectrumElectrum · 07/07/2018 22:45

There's a lot of pretty desperate hyperbole being churned out all over the place today. The very notion that LGBT will turn on lesbians as some kind of punishment for what was a peaceful protest is stretching things a tad, dontcha think?

So much lesbophobia in this rhetoric it kind of illustrated the very point of the protest in the 1st place. I think plenty of people won't have missed the aggression directed at lesbians from trans people & will definitely question the whole delicate snowflake persona spouted by people throwing bottles while being aggressively abusive - claims of feeling 'unsafe' are really starting to wear pretty thin.

But do carry on with those bat calls, apply that aggressive pressure on as many people as you can. I'm sure that won't make anyone question the suggestion of intimidation and aggression being laid at the Trans Activists pushing for support. Nope, can't see a problem with any of that.

FloralBunting · 07/07/2018 22:45

bespin, sorry, you've lost me there. It's hot and late and I'm up for a full day's work at 6am, so I should probably call it a night really.

NanaNoodleman · 07/07/2018 22:46

So has Pride ceased to be a radical gathering super dandy... or are strong language and hard hitting messages ok, when they don’t come from women?
It is all a bit play nicely girls isn’t it

thebewilderness · 07/07/2018 22:47

FloralBunting
They object to words having meanings, that's all.

thebewilderness · 07/07/2018 22:50

I personally do not think transgender advocates should feel safe while they are beating up women or throwing bottles or screaming insults at Lesbians at Pride parades.

Ereshkigal · 07/07/2018 22:50

You may have over-egged the pudding though.

Or perhaps you and your friends have with all the anti woman stuff? There's a thought.

Bespin · 07/07/2018 22:51

FloralBunting

parts of the LGB and t communities have tried to police who over the years who fits into there definition and tell poeple that they are unable to identify as who they are. or so said alice lol
