TRA's have shot themselves in the foot.

I was just heading to bed when I had a thought that has given me the giggles gin induced

Trans activists have really shot themselves in the foot. Here everything we say is public so they can read it. Now, many of us have joined a totally private forum where you can't even see the names of the members unless you log in. It is also giving women a much freer reign to say what they want and we can swear.

So fuck you TRA, you knew what we were saying here, now you won't have a fucking clue, all you can do is guess.

Women 1-0 TRA

@Bowlofbabelfish, I was just going back through that thread and KateMumsnet later re-clarified Confused that she was referring to collective nouns for trans people, not trying to restrict the expression of GC positions...

But then since discussion of individual's genitals is also not cool, about whom can such assertions be made?

Melamin · 15/06/2018 10:12

Actually it's quite a good idea to have little splinter groups go off to places like piston heads which are viewed as male dominate

It is like the ant theory of self-healing networks. Break and ant column and it recreates itself using the smaller links it has going around it. Many alternative links = unnoticeable repair Wink

HotRocker · 15/06/2018 10:13

I have requested to join the new forum. Thank you spontaneous. I’ll also stick around here, although I don’t post that often. It’s getting more often though as I gain in confidence. Let’s stick around as much as possible so the lurkers can gain confidence and find their voice.
The whole TRA strategy is to bring these changes about insidiously so we don’t notice them, so if we’re not talking about them in public view on here, how will people even know? We can plan and organise in Private, but we must keep talking in the public domain. Exposure is exactly what these people don’t want, and what they fear, so let’s endeavour to expose them as much as possible.

Bowlofbabelfish · 15/06/2018 10:15

that she was referring to collective nouns for trans people, not trying to restrict the expression of GC positions...

I can find a way around collective nouns I suppose. I generally do use transwoman as a term. But the ability to hold a GC position is dependent on accurate language and the ability to discuss sex as a characteristic. It’s going to be a challenge to do that i think. But we have to try.

gendercritter · 15/06/2018 10:17

I'd love to join too, please

Ereshkigal · 15/06/2018 10:18

I don't and I absolutely won't. Red line. They are not any sort of woman. It will reduce the clarity of my posts. But I will find ways to get the message across.

Floisme · 15/06/2018 10:19

If you can pm me details of the new forum that would be great but I'm planning to stick around too. I agree with pps that talking on a public forum is really important.

I'm quite sure that the women who have given me some of my very favourite expressions (wankbadger, cockwomble, off you fuck) are capable of working with this and keeping one step ahead.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 15/06/2018 10:22

yep PM requested

HotRocker · 15/06/2018 10:36

I shall henceforth be referring to transpeople as biologically male/female transpeople. MN have ever so generously stated that we are allowed to discuss biological facts (thanks MN) so I intend to. If they ban me then they will ban me for stating biological facts.
I was quite happy to use transwoman before, because I assume everyone knows what that means, and because I’m not a fan of causing offence where it isn’t necessary, but if you push me, I’ll push back. MN have stepped across the line, but I won’t be dictated to. It’ll take more than the threat of being banned from an Internet forum to silence me. It’s taken a lot to force my hand and make me speak out, because I will lose friends, and I don’t have many friends to lose, but forcing my hand further only makes me more determined.
As a person with severe sensory impairment, I’ve been openly discriminated against all my life. As far as oppression and discrimination goes I’ve got a whole wardrobe full of the T-shirts. I have asked for, and battled for measures and concessions while demonstrating approvable and measurable need, and been granted far less than what these people have extorted. I’m not about to sit on my arse and watch what human rights I have be mocked and taken away by hateful, misogynistic bullies.

MsBeee · 15/06/2018 10:36

I think LBGT should now incorporate GC we are all in the fucking closet Grin

HotRocker · 15/06/2018 10:41

Oh yeah, and I will no longer refer to myself as LGBT, I am a lesbian only.

boatyardblues · 15/06/2018 10:43

I don’t like the idea of a fucking closet. It sounds sticky, sweaty and crowded.

RandomMess · 15/06/2018 10:45

Please PM me, I will be sticking around here too though Smile

BananaInVienna · 15/06/2018 10:47

New forum? Is there any way a gender critical feminist such as me can join? I would love to meet people like me :-)

Etino · 15/06/2018 10:47

I’d like to join the group, but we still need to talk about it to people who haven’t ‘got it’ yet.

MsMartini · 15/06/2018 10:51

Me too please, of that's OK

Alternativefacts · 15/06/2018 10:54

Me too please if you are sending invites!

LangCleg · 15/06/2018 10:59

I generally do use transwoman as a term.

I won't. Like Eresh, it's a red line. And so, MNHQ have effectively told me I cannot refer to either of these subsets of trans people on their boards.

biologically male/female transpeople

Kate says you can't do this because you are referring to the natal sex. You can't use a collective term that refers to the natal sex. And why the fuck I'm even typing natal sex, I don't know. It's a tautology.

Youvealwaysbeenthecaretaker · 15/06/2018 11:00

Please PM me too with details of the new forum!

LangCleg · 15/06/2018 11:00

NATAL SEX IS A TAUTOLOGY.

It's just sex. FFS @ myself.

Ereshkigal · 15/06/2018 11:03

Lang Grin

When I accidentally say a female pronoun for a male or use any of the Orwellian language I correct myself angrily. Gaslighting is insidious.

Bowlofbabelfish · 15/06/2018 11:03

I won't. Like Eresh, it's a red line. And so, MNHQ have effectively told me I cannot refer to either of these subsets of trans people on their boards.

And I totally respect that point of view. The objective of this assault is not to remove a specific term the group finds offensive, its to force use of the word woman to describe them. Only woman. Only that term.

Ereshkigal · 15/06/2018 11:03

Absolutely.

MsBeee · 15/06/2018 11:05

Hi

I’m fairly new here and there is probably another thread with this so apologies if I’m breaking etiquette.

There is this this which is for legal action against the council for its Strip Club policy.

If it needs a new thread could a MN veteran start it.

spontaneousgiventime · 15/06/2018 11:05

Oh blimey, I didn't expect my tipsy rant to gain traction like this Grin

Anyone who wants to join, please DM me and I'll send the details the admin asked me to send. The forum has nothing to do with me, I was told about it on the back of a thread I made yesterday and I have joined.

My inbox is overflowing so it may take a little minute to send out all the details and I will do a C&P to everyone, so apologies it's not very personal.
