Not trying to be goady, @katemumsnet but does this mean on pregnancy boards when people are asking posters to decipher baby scans as boy or girl we aren't allowed to anymore, as we can't mention boy or girl as natal sex? Or is that ok and it's only if someone has rejected the natal sex that we can't refer to it?

How can any of these issues be discussed with any clarity if we can't used natal sex. This is madness.

Sex is a fact, it's neutral and descriptive. It's not meant to offend anyone, but we need language to talk about these issues.

The denial of biological sex, and the silencing culture around being able to call a spade a spade (or a be-penised person a male!) it is a huge part of why we're in this mess in the first place.

I put it here because I think people might miss it buried deep (around 300 posts in) in the "Mumsnet moderation thread ... part 2" in Site Stuff.

I'm really disappointed that MN are colluding with the silencing of women whose only "crime" is to speak the truth.

To be fair I have never referred to natal sex. Happy to refer to someone's sex.

It is a problem that these new moderation guidelines are not being published site wide.

Posts discussing women's rights appear elsewhere, for example in aibu.

If you are making clarifications then these also need to be publicised site wide not just buried in with 999 other posts.
