That’s what all the fuss is about. There’s a proposed change to he law that would allow people to ‘self ID’ - and if that goes through, then yes. Men will just be able to do that.

And you won’t be able to challenge it, because that will be a hate crime.

This is why an awful lot of women are trying to get this in the news - right now the groups pushing for this are trying to get it in quietly under the Radar. They want all mention of sex replaced with gender, which means nothing and will erode the sex based protections in he equality act.

It will also impact heavily on child safeguarding - for example a male bodied teen could share sleeping and Washington g facilities with girls and their parents would not be informed. A girl who objected would be ‘re educated.’

I don't think the reported account actually got banned - but there was a screenshot that the complaint had been upheld. So the reported account probably got access restricted until it deleted the offending "deadnaming" tweet.

Let's see just how many activists are prepared to stand on a political platform and say they support a child murderer.

If you are not prepared to do that as a politician or an activist then, right there is an admission there is an issue which despite what you profess to believe you know it's problematic.

If you are prepared to do it, and ignore the obvious problem, you are going to rightly face the political wrath of the public for ignoring it.

If this murderer wants publicity and attention from this, then that in itself is an issue. It has the danger of showing up how the trans ideology is either something to hijack to exploit safeguarding loopholes, a way of attention seeking for fame / notoriety or some sense of 'specialness' or is something that is related to an underlying issue - perhaps psychology or social.

The issue of whether huntley is trans or not is just a rumour. BUT the fact people will defend his gender feelz (rumour or not) shows just how far this cult like thinking has gone. The feelings of this man are more important than his victims and their families.

Have just listened to Julia HB on talk radio listen again. She interviews Nic Williams at 9.23. It was excellent. She correctly says that the only dead names here are Holly and Jessica

And I agree with @askaterf and Zinnia that if you allow anyone to say they are a trans woman and have it enshrined in law that "trans women are women", you have to let anyone who says they are a trans woman go anywhere a natal woman can go, including letting rapist-murderers like Huntley into women's toilets and changing rooms where women and girls change. Yes, we already let female rapist-murderers into the women's loos, but how many of those have there been compared to male ones? This is the root problem with self-id.
