Lily Madigan - to celebrate 300 women leaving LP with a party

LaSqrrl · 13/05/2018 00:49

The facebook event now seems removed, but Feminist Current does have the screenshot before it disappeared.

Constituency Labour Party Women’s Officer for Rochester and Strood, Lily Madigan, a trans-identified male, plans to host a party to celebrate women leaving the Labour Party in protest of Labour’s policy allowing men to self-identify their way onto all women candidate shortlists.

(Sorry if this one has been posted before, I looked, but could not see a matching thread)

I am posting this to illustrate that TRAs do not want to join 'Class Woman', but to take over 'Class Woman' and throw out the existing inhabitants, then celebrate their victory over women (eg 'enjoy your erasure'). This is why 'we cannot get along' and have zero in common with them.

"says trans women's officer"

Not women's officer. trans women's officer

Ruffian · 13/05/2018 16:01

No. 'trans Women's Officer'

newtlover · 13/05/2018 21:04

'untermensch'
that is beyond shocking
does anyone know who was responsible for that? surely the people who are supposed to be ridding the LP of anti semitism would like to know

bottleblue · 13/05/2018 21:51

It is beyond shocking. I think they're onto it - although LM's not responsible for anyone else's comments on her posts apparently. if you look at LM's twitter feed (log out and you can see it) she's retweeted a comment (weirdly - it doesn't show anyone in a good light) about terfs being trash and in the thread that comes from is a conversation about the very offensive comment. I think LM really probably didn't know what it meant but there's no excuse - anyone can google.

bottleblue · 13/05/2018 21:54

Sorry - not v. good at the internet - i think it's here - twitter.com/ScottMoore0/status/995714605040185345

As much as it pains me to say this, I hope the Tories use this to put Labour into their place. Atm, the Torres have just as much as the working class vote as Labour do. I think they could take more if they rebel against 'identity politics'.

I'm not a Tory voter btw. I am politically homeless.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/05/2018 22:52

LM is 20, not 19.

TheClitterati · 13/05/2018 23:09

I took a screen shot of the fb invite too. I couldn't believe LM had Corbyns face heading it up.

How on earth aren't they sacked for that?

Fuck knows what to do with it. Hell will freeze over now before I'd join the LP.

numberseven · 14/05/2018 06:57

Should LM actually run for election LM will claim, of course, that the various tweets and screenshots claiming schizophrenia, autism, misogyny etc were just the product of youthful indiscretion and / or due to their alleged disability / mental health issue.

No, LM would claim that LM's brother secretly posted them on his twitter.

Bowlofbabelfish · 14/05/2018 07:57

LM was elected as women’s officer. LM is failing to act on a diverse range of women’s issues such as: differential impact of austerity politics, healthcare, employment discrimination, refuges, DV, etc etc. LM is instead pushing a single position on Trans rights AND simulataneously denigrating women. So not only failing to act for women but working against them.

I honestly cannot see any justification for LM to remain in this post. They are failing, dismally, at what they were elected to do and they need to be removed from the post.

Floisme · 14/05/2018 08:02

I am worried about who will do all the food for this party if there are no women there.

LaSqrrl · 14/05/2018 08:26

No idea why comment got deleted. Stupid system MNHQ. Copy the 'offending' comment to PM.

A bit like training people with a big stick. But not telling you when or why it is to be implemented.

Let's never forget that in a previous life LM was a trainee mra who enjoyed hassling walk for life over being women only, comparing them to those who enacted segregation in the USA.

They have spent their time as women's officer actively attacking women, only seeming to care about trans women, and worryingly seeming to think they should be allowed to be given the location of, and access to, women's refuges.

Oh, and all the other stuff with the threatening to misuse labour party data, secret groups to oust women they don't like etc.

It's pretty bad when you take it as a piece, isn't it.

SardineReturns · 14/05/2018 08:42

Rave for life, sorry

SardineReturns · 14/05/2018 08:43

Race ffs!

Rave for life sounds good though:D

LaSqrrl · 14/05/2018 08:48

I was wondering about the 'rave'. LOL
Maybe LM is planning a rave to celebrate 300 women leaving?

OP posts:
TerfsUp · 14/05/2018 08:53

No, LM would claim that LM's brother secretly posted them on his twitter.

That's also a possibility. I had forgotten about the dog ate my homework 'my brother secretly posted on my Twitter account' nonsense.

TerfsUp · 14/05/2018 08:54

I am worried about who will do all the food for this party if there are no women there.

Not only that, but who's going to clean up afterwards?

LaSqrrl · 14/05/2018 09:02

I am sure that LM will book a 'rave' venue that has catering and cleaning included.
Not sure why TW don't 'identify' with the catering and cleaning part of womanhood. Strange that. Hmm

OP posts:
Ereshkigal · 14/05/2018 09:12

Never fear, I'm sure there will be lots of the right sort of women there to pick up after the males.

Morning, everyone. Just a reminder that we're happy for discussions like this to continue but we will have to delete posts where people seem to be deliberately using someone's non-preferred pronouns. 'They' or a person's initials are fine. Thanks for your cooperation.

SporadicSpartacus · 14/05/2018 11:56

Thanks HQ - it is good to know definitively what the rule is on pronouns. I’ve been wondering for a while.

wishiwassizeeight · 14/05/2018 12:35

Thanks HQ for reminding us we may not speak the truth on Mumsnet and are expected to lie and contribute to our own erasure by calling men women.

I’ll use initials or they. I will not refer to any man as ‘she’.
