Ive done a little browsing in the feminism section and i admit its intriguing, please forgive my ignorance as i dont know alot about this all.

I just want to start by saying i was raised to respect everyone and i truly do, my view on equality is simply if some one, man or woman is good enough to do the specific job they aspire for then they have every right to get said job/goal, again if this is slight ignorance forgive me, i post this topic because i would like to learn and be less ignorant, love me some knowledge.. :)

So i suppose my question is broad and depends on the individual person's view, but what is the over reaching/ultimate goal of feminism ? or what does it mean to you personally ? and please, dont think im trolling or anything i genuinely want to learn a thing or two, thanks :)

And you know what? All my friends colleagues who have gone on to do great things have either been childless, employed nannies (which I refuse to do), or had HUGE amounts of grandparent help. None have been able to do great things when co parenting equally. Penalised for parenting. Yet men seem to be able to do ok. Because of patriarchy and biology.

There are lots of important reasons why we still need feminism from life or death stuff to the more trivial, like mine, I suppose.

@bi11yonemate here here my body is a wreck after child birth and has been dismissed many times by male drs no less.. even as recently as the weekend when I was given morphine and sent home from a&e .....

It is the mistreatment that I put at #1 that makes it possible for men to dismiss us when we object to anything less than being murdered in our beds.
And when we do object to being murdered in our beds the news articles examine what we did to deserve it and what society needs to do to help the poor misunderstood men who murder women in their beds. You may recall this happened just this past week.

Thebewilderness yes I recall. And I also note the difference in how women and men are treated in the MSM. Even female newsreaders have to show more skin / be more groomed / be thinner. It's not just the content, there's a subliminal message in the presentation of the message. "Women you must always look fabulous. And if you become a victim it's your fault as you looked too fabulous / insert other reason"

Incidentally I was reading this feminist board for probably 3 years before I started contributing... I may have been a little scared of all the great intellects and awesome women on here
