PH dodged the bullet for sure. But he wasn't the biggest villain in this piece by a mile.

Hulo · 23/03/2018 00:49

Bah. I watched a documentary on bbc4 about antibiotics. They had a woman with a huge rotting hole in her foot. Sounds preferable to tonight's Question Time

It was breathtakingly biased.

What struck me was the cold loathing which PL obviously has for women. They spoke reasonably eloquently about the other topics (credit where due etc) but as soon as the AWS was asked the whole tone changed. They were also playing to the audience, with that silly little quip about 'I don't have much to say on this...' Cue sycophantic laughter.

But it was very clearly a pre-agreed script. Paris doesn't enter 'debates' unless they have been assured they are going to get universal applause and agreement.

I'd say this makes them an unsuitable guest for panel debate shows like Question Time, and will be putting that suggestion to the BBC

ChoccyJules · 23/03/2018 09:45

Oh no, I just replied to a tweet about the survey stats, which I only know anything about because of YOU LOT and have now realised PL was copied in. So I think that's me out and a target. #shouldkeepoffsocialmedia

@incorruptibledream you are a fan of someone like Paris Lees who actively encourages men to street-harrass women, and writes articles about how being treated "like a piece of meat" by men is awesome and sexy? Really?

Irishfeminist · 23/03/2018 12:12

Cold loathing is the default setting most TIMs have when talking about the uppity, usually older women who refuse to fawn over them. Like the way Liam Madigan talked about mumsnet.

A trans person who is on the right side of history (ours Grin ) and the comments are worth reading.

incorruptibledream · 23/03/2018 22:27

No Annie I do not. I also do not see PL representing those things. I also do not believe she hates women. She even made a point on QT of stating that these so called feminists believe they are being threatened whereas the changes to society have no bearing on them whatsoever. MN represents the toxic poisonous over reaction she talks of. And sensibly pretty much everyone agreed on QT

PositivelyPERF · 23/03/2018 22:33

And sensibly pretty much everyone agreed on QT That would be the audience who had to be under 30yrs old and answer a questionnaire before they went on? Yes, a real cross section of people. 😒🙄

mirialis · 23/03/2018 22:52

Love the fact Germaine Greer, Julie Bindel et al are now "so called feminists". Not, like, legit ones but "so called". Hmm

Just leaving that there for you @incorruptibledream

And, to slightly misquote another woman who was thrown under the bus for self-serving male arrogance : 'She would say that, wouldn't she?'

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 24/03/2018 00:18

I see Paris disapproves of middle class was men. I guess she realises that one of the benefits of being middle class is easier access to an education which means you can think and write properly, put a coherent argument together, count for something in the world aside from your attractiveness, all that stuff. I can understand how that might piss poor old Paris off a bit.
I’d say if you can’t beat em, join em, but let’s face it that’s probably not an option either.

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 24/03/2018 00:20

“Was men?” Women! Jesus even the iPhones have joined the trans conspiracy

derxa · 24/03/2018 08:22

Paris Lees sought an argument with me for the benefit of Paris Lees. I declined. Why'look forward'to a TV row about a subject, which can rarely be discussed without emotionalism, even when no cameras are present..My thoughts on it can be read by anyone competent with Google. Peter Hitchens' thoughts on the subject.

Clemfantango · 24/03/2018 11:32

I don't watch QT anymore since being in the audience a year or so ago. It's breathtakingly biased and manipulated. I lied to get into the audience claiming that I was a Lib Dem supporter in the first place. The questions the audience asked are so carefully pre screened there's no chance of anyone asking anything the production team doesn't want asked. Really infuriating experience.
