This is the petition asking the government to consult with women on the proposals to enshrine gender identity in law.

Can someone explain to me how Facebook works? Would being complained about result in account suspension?!

I posted on four local groups yesterday about the petition. Had some pleasant debate under them and all in all it felt like if helped to get the message out. No nastiness or hatred, just shock and then horror when improvised the evidence for what is already happening.

I’ve just gone to look on Facebook and my account has been suspended because of ‘suspicious activity’ all my messages from yesterday are invisisble as are all of my posts.

I’ve had to send a picture of my face in to Facebook and am waiting for my account to be unlocked?! This the second time that has happened to me, last time was after posting something GC too.

(Whispers from behind the sofa)

Am I being paranoid?!

Melamin · 14/03/2018 15:07

Maybe you are under the watch of a nutty TRA and they get all their friends to complain?

I have had a problem with Facebook before where I could not post anything or change my photo, but could message. No idea what that was about - it was fine from another computer account - might have been an update problem Hmm

OohMavis · 14/03/2018 15:24

You've been reported Truscum Angry

Truscum · 14/03/2018 15:42

Well I wouldn’t be surprised, I’m sure TRA’s hate what I’m saying! 😂

But why would Facebook suspend me? I have said nothing hateful or that isn’t true. I haven’t harassed people, or flooded anyone. I haven’t been rude and I’ve been happy to answer questions etc?

BeyondDeadlySiren · 14/03/2018 15:59

Sounds like you were reported as a fake account, as they wanted a picture?

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 14/03/2018 16:06

I have confidence you'll be okay and back once they've done due diligence of taking complaint seriously. The good thing is I imagine it will be quicker to sort in the future, as they know claims are malicious.

If not, we've got your back here with over 4000 signatures ready to support you.

Melamin · 14/03/2018 16:12

I expect the TRAs know which buttons to press to get a reaction from Facebook - they have probably had plenty experience Wink

What respectable said.^^

LangCleg · 14/03/2018 16:17

OMG. Why do they need a picture of your face?

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 14/03/2018 16:22

Yes be cautious in case hacked.

Hidingtonothing · 14/03/2018 16:23

Yep you've been mass reported Truscum, they will have had to use the 'fake account' option as the reason for reporting because there was nothing actually wrong in your posts so that will be why you now have to verify your identity. TRA's for sure Angry

Kneedeepinunicorns · 14/03/2018 16:46

Argh, sorry to hear that Tru these people play dirty. And are desperate to silence and no platform anyone with lived experience or feelings or opinions that might give others a glimpse into a different view or change their perspective on war is peace/freedom is slavery/2+2=5

Truscum · 14/03/2018 16:46

I don’t really know why they needed a picture. There were plenty of pictures on there where my face was visible?

Oh well, must be hitting a nerve I guess Grin

Still suspended.

Nosetothesun · 14/03/2018 16:56

It can also sometimes happen when you post the same comment multiple times... I've known friends accounts similarly suspended when for example they have posted an appeal for a missing dog across a number of groups....

Elendon · 14/03/2018 16:56

I reported a video I was sent about a beheading on Facebook, it stemmed originally from Britain First via a friend that I immediately blocked.

I was told that the video did not contravene the guidelines.

I'm very happy that Facebook has now had to ban Britain First. Mind you this I think is reactionary rather than a considered opinion.

I hope it will turn out well for you Truscum

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 14/03/2018 17:02

Just had my reply from MP, obviously a cut and paste job via secretary. Surprisingly I thought this MP would be more GC, but I read it as quite ‘Pro’

The self-ID petition is now live!
boatyardblues · 14/03/2018 17:07

I didn’t think the GRA consultation had started. Has it been smuggled out of Westminster and published on parish council notice boards in far flung rural areas so they can tick the ‘public consultation’ box whilst they do exactly what they want?

Re the petition, my constituency is still stuck at “manageable-sized dinner party” levels. I will begin sharing more widely over the next few days to try & gee things up.

Melamin · 14/03/2018 17:10

my constituency is still stuck at “manageable-sized dinner party” levels

Mine is at tea party levels - my mother used to let me have 6 people for tea for my birthday Grin

I got another one this afternoon. It turned out to be quite easy Smile

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 14/03/2018 17:22

celebrates and benefits from the talents of everyone. What a weasel worded piece of crap Hmm. It doesn't even address the question, let alone try to answer it.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/03/2018 17:26

could get all of us in a mini.

the three local constituencies would only need a small minibus.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 14/03/2018 17:28

Natural, Labour? That first paragraph is very close to the one I had - I wondered if they've been advised of a particular reply to give?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 14/03/2018 17:31

beyond No, Conservative and (until very recently) a very high up one. Now I’ve read it again, I’m more concerned. The earlier poster was right, I thought they hadn’t started anything yet....

BlackeyedSusan · 14/03/2018 17:35

write back to them and ask them to answer the question porperly as they have not been clear.

keep bloody asking.

(suspect my mp is also schooled in the weasel words, )

Elendon · 14/03/2018 17:38

Mine is dinner party levels, but I would have to add another because no one likes an odd number at a dinner party Hmm. Personally, I couldn't give a shiny.

MyOwnShed · 14/03/2018 17:43

Could get all of us in a fiesta with one in the boot.

Am also confused about the consultation comment.

Testingnamechange1 · 14/03/2018 17:47

Maybe the one that the Scottish government held?
