@Testing from someone who is late to the party I agree. It took me a while to fully grasp exactly what was being proposed. It’s difficult as it’s complex and hard to put succinctly but I think things like the impact on our children re changing rooms will be the massive worry for most.

I have (now!) done some reading around the issue (and signed the petition obvs) but I think you need to be a bit invested to take that step.

I am no doubt stating the bloody obvious and conclusions you all came to way back (sorry) but I wish I’d been drawn into it sooner but it all seemed a bit over my head. Also I think starting out with a this is not transphobic message kind of puts people on alert that it may well be (like when people say I’m not being rascist but... [insert something rascist]). Apologies for newby over enthusiasm/probable naivety and realise it would be more helpful to come up with an actual thread title!

Hurrah! Thanks for the fb prompt. That fucking virtue signalling makes me want to scream. Thought it was interesting that most of them faded away when the TIM started asking if he'd be turned away if he turned up.

I dont do twitter but willing to try - i keep wondering if we should be tweeting swimming pools/gyms asking if they have single sex changing linking the petition so users of the gyms would see it. Does it work like that?

Perhaps go to search box and search word "petition" and then if it has landed in any other folder it will find it. Usually find missing things like that, if can't find even in junk etc - seem to be hidden in plain sight somewhere .

Mother a lot of people have found the response has been sent to their spam folder. Try there for the link.

Percy - I'm new too - like you I think maybe anything starting with word 'trans' puts people off opening thread and reading - it did me, thought not for me to have an opinion, think I'll duck out.

So words and phrases that spark interest in new people are an area to think about - as some words just make people think:

feminism - out of my league, sounds bit clever;
politics - sounds boring;
trans... sounds 'phobic' etc etc

Juxare you sure people would stop speaking to you? I am pretty open- some people disagree with me but my friends respect my views and my right to have them.
