This is the petition asking the government to consult with women on the proposals to enshrine gender identity in law.

MrsOvarall I have just signed the other petition. I notice it had a facility on it so you could let your MP know you've signed. Very handy

busyboysmum · 14/03/2018 10:58

www.facebook.com/The-Womens-Holiday-Centre-156865584461041/

The Woman's Holiday Centre is coming under flak for sharing this petition. If anyone is able to support them on facebook it would be good.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 14/03/2018 11:14

Yep The Woman's Holiday Centre is under attack - www.facebook.com/The-Womens-Holiday-Centre-156865584461041/

Some support needed - as I have just done

Mner · 14/03/2018 11:18

I have emailed my MP before but have emailed again this morning as our constituency has one of the highest numbers on there.

drinkswineoutofamug · 14/03/2018 11:22

Daughter has just signed , bringing it up to 11 here. She was , as a lesbian, worried about sharing it on her Facebook. But is sharing to some of her friends.

StickStickStickStick · 14/03/2018 11:23

Oh gosh they really are. Interesting it's women banging the trans drum. I'm not able to on Facebook publically.

The women's centre is doing a really good job with it's replies. Well done.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 14/03/2018 11:26

Is it really?! Why on earth does any woman want to silence other women who just want to have an open consultation? What is there to fear?

StickStickStickStick · 14/03/2018 11:27

I guess they feel they're "calling people out on what to them is an equivalent of racism or homophobia. They just don't get it :(

Surfandterf · 14/03/2018 11:34

I've just written some support on their page, I think it's great they're not bowing to pressure.

Why are so many women trying to shut this down? honestly, I don't think they are worried about debate, I don't think they've bothered to look into this much further then what loud mouths are telling them, they're grade A virtue signalling, much in the same as some women go out of the way with their 'I'm so cool, I'm one of the guys, I'm nothing like those feminists'. I don't think many of them give two shiny shits about the issue, they just want to look right on, there will be one or two who have drank the drink but generally, it's just fucking pathetic.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 14/03/2018 11:57

I'm unsure how many of the accounts who are attacked The Womens' Centre are actually women - could be trolling accounts

YesItsADebate · 14/03/2018 12:30

I've just posted on the local boards for those constituencies that are still grey. Hopefully there are MNers there!

4306 signatures.

If you are on your lunch break please take a look at the petition and join us in signing and sharing .

Great idea Yesitis - hopefully some of them are taking a look.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/03/2018 13:05

on the plus side Boston and skegness has finally changed colour. one or tow other constituencies have changed as well.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 14/03/2018 13:09

Merthyr Tydfil has finally changed colour too!

BeyondDeadlySiren · 14/03/2018 13:09

That's all of South Wales done now.

And only one constituency in North Wales that remains grey

Fortythreeandfatasfuck · 14/03/2018 13:11

signed this and shared on facebook, only 5 in Wigan though, very disappointing (but at least there are 4 others Grin)

MyOwnShed · 14/03/2018 13:15

I was thinking, if this did get to be debated in parliament, who would debate it?

busyboysmum · 14/03/2018 13:18

www.david-davies.org.uk/news/transgender-rights-versus-womens-privacy

Maybe this Welsh Conservative MP - he has spoken out before in favour of protecting women's privacy.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 14/03/2018 13:20

On it, busy Wink

MyOwnShed · 14/03/2018 13:27

That's good to hear, it seems many are too scared to broach the subject but I'd hope some would be at least happy to discuss things.

OohMavis · 14/03/2018 13:39

I've just spend a good chunk of time reading through that thread on The Womens' Centre page, bloody well done to them.

redshoeblueshoe · 14/03/2018 13:42

Myownshed - I think you might have found the fatal flaw in this petition.

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 14/03/2018 13:52

There is no flaw - we are sharing awareness and on a journey - will pick up people and change opinion as we go. The argument will be shaped and put forward when others become aware there is growing support - including an MP or two getting courage to voice an opinion that the Emperor is in fact naked.

wellhonestly · 14/03/2018 14:06

Signed.

MyOwnShed · 14/03/2018 14:09

I quite like that piece by David Davies.
