This is the petition asking the government to consult with women on the proposals to enshrine gender identity in law.

DP and I just signed, think he was number 4,000 Smile

Can I suggest anyone on Twitter sharing this petition uses existing hashtags such as #peaktrans #labourlosingwomen #transcult
I don't have a Twitter account but often click on hashtags when something takes my interest.

drinkswineoutofamug · 13/03/2018 22:48

Signed Mrs Overall - very important issue - lots of time wasted thinking everyone has same problem, but not the case.

Sign off for bed: Total at 4084 - keep sharing.

But still no Merthyr ... I am intrigued, because it’s such a Labour stronghold- but not one woman is pissed off with Labour’s stance on women?

worstwitch18 · 14/03/2018 07:37

Nosquirrels part of it is getting the word out, there's a lot of women who won't have been on MN in the last two days or who have missed the threads.

Igneococcus · 14/03/2018 07:42

I'm still 50 % of the Argyll&Bute petition signing contingent, actually the entire West and North coast from Argyll up over to North of Aberdeen adds up to only 24 so far.
dd, also 13, would like to sign, but I wonder if under voting age and not being a British citizen (albeit born here) might be pushing it a bit.

Spindelina · 14/03/2018 07:45

seafood I’m not in NES, but you are the doughnut to my middle Grin. 19 of us in Bath.

Have started another thread with a clearer title for when it comes up it ‘Active’. Can we keep both bumped please?

Anyone who can add new links (eg to fair play for women) most welcome on my thread.

seafoodeatit · 14/03/2018 08:03

@spindelina I used to live in Bath until quite recently, still under Bath council oddly!

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 14/03/2018 08:10

Igneococcus: I had questioned that, but there is no age limit. Think of a petition in the street, your child could sign it and and send to Parliament on issues they care about.

If kids are old enough to be encouraged to decide to identify as the opposite sex and change name/pronouns etc - then they're old enough to question growing pressure on children to conform.

Kids are being told that if they feel stereotypical male or female behaviours of the opposite sex, it means they're inhabiting the incorrect body.

My daughter understands - and asked to sign.

Igneococcus · 14/03/2018 08:56

arespectable
She has a good understanding of the issue, she is also the child of two biologists. She is very interested in politics and history (want to become a history teacher), watches and reads the news, so this is enirely her decision to sign not something to please her parents. And any changes to the law will affect her probably a lot more than me.
I'll tell her after school she can sign if she still wants to (I'm sure she will).

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 14/03/2018 09:04

Excellent - she sounds fabulous and a lot like my daughter (except for the two Biologists bit!).

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 14/03/2018 09:09

It's heartening to see not all young teens have bought into the craziness, Igne

Igneococcus · 14/03/2018 09:09

They did some thing at school once where her socials class voted who is the most likely class member to become a politician and she got over 50% of the vote. I can see why her classmates think that Smile
