I've had it with Lush

Sick of their virtue signalling. I've always admired their eco efforts and animal welfare stuff as there was an obvious connection but over the years they've got increasing more irritating and seem to be jumping on any topic which seems trendy.

I want to buy soap. Not subscribe to their politics. This for me was the last straw.

I love that Neals Yard campaign for Women for Women international as well : www.womenforwomen.org/node/294

Lush were in Metro, if anyone fancies contacting them to explain why women's rights are important too:

I dont get lush. Their cutting block soaps dried all my hands out. Their bathbombs left glitter everywhere. One of their bath bubble bars, a couple of crumbs dropped on the floor that I missed and I now cant get the pink stains off my lino. What noxious colouring are they using to to do that.

Ridiculously over priced. Their trans crap just put the tin hat on things.

PositivelyPERF · 23/02/2018 12:36

I have loads of lush products as two of my boys always buy me the stuff. Bath bombs anyone? I prefer my bath without a dose of thrush thank you. I prefer liquid soap so have a few bars too. The bottles of stuff looks like it goes off and I have to shake it to mix it. It’s over priced and over perfumed I’m going to have to tell my boys I’m shopping elsewhere now.

I have never seen the appeal of Lush, so it will not be a hardship to boycott it Grin

mermaids seem to be very good at getting a package together for these sponsorships. Someone went through their accounts and they pay a salary to the founder.

mirime · 23/02/2018 17:44

@PositivelyPERF annoyingly for me Lush stuff doesn't give me thrush, unlike just about everything else, and I've not found any other deodorant that I can use.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 23/02/2018 17:49

I am so pissed off with Lush, they are using the term 'cisgender' and whenever it is pointed out on Twitter that it is offensive and not how women want to be described they then explain what it means (or what it is being pushed to mean) like we are stupid and just need 'educating' and then continue to use it. Okay to offend women then? As long as the men who think they are women are pandered to.

Bloody fab!

icedtea · 23/02/2018 18:08

I won't be shopping at Lush again.

gluteustothemaximus · 23/02/2018 18:18

Lush is crap. They go on about being eco friendly with their lack of packaging - but it benefits them to have no packaging as it's cheaper and less faff.

Yet at the same time they box up fancy seasonal glossy gift boxes full of ribbons and packaging etc - when it suits.

Their ingredients aren't all that either.

I make my own bath bombs now. They are so easy! And cheap!

PositivelyPERF · 23/02/2018 19:34

EmpressOfJurisfiction Bloody hilarious 🤣

That article is fab, wonder how long it will take Lush to promote something that benefits women in an effort to back-peddle without actually addressing the issue here.

VaguelyAware · 23/02/2018 21:28

Haha. Way to go Lush. They'll come up with some "empowering women" bullshit in the next year, guaranteed. Shame they've already pissed on their chips. People have long memories. And they can plainly see that people can find all kinds of lovely things with the power of the internet. Grin
