And other tweets. I think she has lost the plot.

Dr Nicola Williams at fair play for women has written an article about #peakindia
fairplayforwomen.com/thank-india-w-showing-us-women-perceive-transwomen-still-male/

DontPullThatTubeOut · 08/02/2018 23:41

I can’t stand all of this. How can India sit there and dismiss how many women are killed at the hands of men whilst in relationships. Only a fool could feel sympathy for the men. No one is saying that all men are bad but a majority of domestic violence is at the hands of men. We just cannot argue with facts. To also say that someone who runs a DV charity has a “one track mind” after being invited onto a show to discuss that one thing, is baffling. Especially when all India can talk about is how much of a woman they are. Pot meet kettle.

thebewilderness · 08/02/2018 23:52

IW gave the standard MRA response to the subject of male violence that is repeated on every Feminist blog and page since the interwebs were invented or people talked about it at work and at home. I think I pointed it out upthread or on another thread. 10th rule of misogyny: The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad.

Ekphrasis · 09/02/2018 03:54

Brilliant article thank you. It's the fucking narcissism.

And it pointed out the case by case basis - of course there's going to be rare individuals who are special cases who need access to specialist services. But the point of a refuge is often that it's a mother with her children. IW and co really aren't getting it.

and I'm going to have to steal the phrase "and no more than world salad" for future use

AngryAttackKittens · 09/02/2018 05:43

@Cecily

See! How do you know India is lying? Lips moving, fingers moving, basically is he communicating in any way? Probably lying.

Hard to imagine anything mobile that's less sexy than a Dalek, though. He's an odd duck, India.

thebewilderness · 09/02/2018 05:46

I think the Dalek thing may be penis envy.

IndominusRex · 09/02/2018 07:53

Don't know if you all saw but Jess Philips tweeted supporting Karen Grin

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 09/02/2018 08:23

Jess strikes me as understanding but trying to please everyone.

Ekphrasis · 09/02/2018 09:35

Yes seems that way. Which is actually understandable. But yet another example of how as a female mp she is nervous about speaking up about this issue; I sort of feel a man would be less bothered? But they'd be dismissed more as they're a man and this issue doesn't directly affect them. Not sure why I feel that.

Monkeyinshoes · 09/02/2018 18:53

Can’t see India’s tweets calling Karen hateful and likening her to Nazis and serial killers anymore.

Hopefully lots of reports (I reported them for targeted harassment) and they have been made to delete them.

Ekphrasis · 09/02/2018 21:04

So I've been blocked by India presumably for following Karen. Never interacted with IW and a day or two ago could see the twitter feed.

Meh!

I can see it on my other twitter easily!

cista · 09/02/2018 22:45

I want to have sympathy for India, but I just can't! He's too much of a prick!

SunsetBeetch · 10/02/2018 13:09

Stuck my head above the parapet today and tweeted Dr Williams article. Tried to explain why, but I'll probably lose some right on followers anyway. Ah well, time to take a stand.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 10/02/2018 19:15

Good on you Sunset.

I found this in my screenshots back from when India was laying into Jenni Murray. Looks like Urban Associates (India's agent) are a thoroughly nasty bunch of ageist misogynists too.

Men always over reach. Calling for women to be fired for having an opinion, and expressing it, that is contrary to what males want to hear seems a bit of an over reach to most I hope.
