Labour party invents new bollocks made-up non-existent definition for woman

labour.org.uk/members/get-involved/national-youth-elections-2018/

Sixteen uses of the word 'self-defining woman'. Zero uses of 'female', 'biology', or plain 'woman'.

'Woman' is now literally meaningless. A woman can be a bog-standard heterosexual teenage male (Lily Madigan), if he says so.

And obviously with half the places reserved for 'self-defining women' (not 'women', 'self-defining women'), then there's not really any reason why men wouldn't define themselves a women, is there?

If misogynistic shits like Lily Madigan can 'self-define as a woman', well ALL men are women, aren't they?

The whole bloody human race is 'self-defined women'.

Stupid Labour.

Got a high then a low reading that! Hopefully the rumour is wrong

Actually it is good as it doesn't look like bullying. It is the principle not the person.

QuentinSummers · 15/01/2018 20:17

Anna Lee is on the Jo Cox programme this year.
Some of you might remember Anna as the first trans, queer, disabled, lesbian woman to run for NUS women's officer last year (she lost).

EamonnWright · 15/01/2018 20:40

Aye I remember that face!

Thegirlinthefireplace · 15/01/2018 20:50

Forget Anna Lees trans status, I remember Anna Lee as being the most God awful speaker I have ever had the misfortune to come across. That alone should have kept them off the Jo Cox Leadership Programme!

thebewilderness · 15/01/2018 20:54

One of the reasons the Labour position is unsupportable is that they have embraced the idea that a fetish is a gender role and gender roles are the same as biological sex, as asserted by the AGPs. This is a position that the LGBT community is beginning to push back against in response to the predatory AGPs who have taken leadership positions from lesbians, gays, and transexuals. A political party adopting the position that a fetish is no different from a biological sex is arbitrary and foolish as well as self destructive.

Sorry if anyone else has posted this today, but I just saw it and it's bloody brilliant so I shall post it again:

fairplayforwomen.com/questions-left-wing-people-support-self-definition-woman

I may send that in its entirety to my MP.

PillowCate · 15/01/2018 23:03

Glitterypinksoap That is an excellent article. Thank you for posting it.

Mner · 15/01/2018 23:04

321namechange and referenced too, which I love (ex researcher alert)

Datun · 16/01/2018 00:27

Glitterypinksoap

That article is quite brilliant.

iBiscuit · 16/01/2018 06:51

Excellent article, thank you.

I wish I had the nerve to share it on Facebook,

Glitterypinksoap · 16/01/2018 07:21

Me too, Biscuit

Particularly as I just got a facebook message from my local police station that a man released on licence last year with a sexual offences prevention order was caught hiding in the women's toilets of the local McDonalds and enjoying himself spying on women and girls using the loo. He was arrested and has been charged with six separate offences and one of his victims is said (by the police) to be extremely distressed.

Under self ID he would only have to announce his inner self is female and his offending behaviour will become so much easier for him and harder for the police and his victims. Sex offenders in womens toilets is not acceptable collateral damage.

DodoPatrol · 16/01/2018 07:39

Can you send that to your mp, glittery, and ask them to reassure you what safeguards put into the new act will make sure that he can’t take advantage of it?

Bumblebzz · 16/01/2018 11:30

Utterly lost for words on this.
I have emailed my (Labour, female) MP for her views on this. My first time ever contacting my MP.

Elendon · 16/01/2018 11:45

Thank you for that link Glitterypinksoap

Women's biology cannot be denied. How can you square the circle of being a major political party in a country that contributes massively to overseas aid and not recognise this?

If I lived in a country that was at war/women's rights eroded and I was seen as rape fodder because of my biological sex I would view the Labour Party now as suspicious. One set of rules for the rich people in a peaceful country another set of rules for me. I would probably be grateful for the help nonetheless, but would view it as hypocritical and demeaning.

Glitterypinksoap · 16/01/2018 14:59

I will, Dodo and anyone else I can think of. IMHO it needs to be put in front of every MP and councillor in the UK. However my (Tory Safeseat Male) MP has completely ignored my questions and letters on the subject so far.

Either he is misguidedly believing he is being kind and progressive and has not yet got all the information to make an informed decision - or he has got the information, and has made an informed decision that biological women are subordinate to biological men, have been allowed too much power, and that it is right and good that their legal and civil rights to an identity and equality should be removed from them. If it's the second, I wonder whether he will have the guts to actually own that position and defend it publically to voters, because as yet I have not seen any single person do so.

As the article says, if they truly believe that gender roles are innate then they genuinely believe that women are born to be 'lesser' and to be oppressed and that is their rightful lot in life.

Interestingly, trans men have discovered however that you cannot just 'opt out' of this subordinate race into the master race, in the way that the master race are able to opt in to (and appropriate and totally take over and dominate) the selective best bits of the subordinate race that suit them.

mimivanne · 16/01/2018 15:47

Glittery
During the last few weeks I've sent my East Midlands Labour MP three shortish emails outlining my concerns about the GRA,and a male LP Womens Officer .Answer came there none. My fourth email, re the AWS 11 posts reserved for 'self defined women' and my resignation from the LP got a fast response apologising for the late reply, stating that he had been taking time and now felt it was a' matter of equality.'Make of that what you will.he was 'very sorry I had resigned'
I think he had probably breathed a huge sigh of relief

badbadhusky · 16/01/2018 17:47

I think he had probably breathed a huge sigh of relief

Well, he shouldn’t. Party member or not, as a constituent you have a say in whether he gets your vote at the next election.

DonkeySkin · 16/01/2018 18:30

or he has got the information, and has made an informed decision that biological women are subordinate to biological men, have been allowed too much power, and that it is right and good that their legal and civil rights to an identity and equality should be removed from them. He won't need to. He can hide behind the stance that he is staunch defender of human rights who is just championing the rights of a Very Vulnerable Minority. That's the beauty of this for men.

Elendon · 16/01/2018 18:40

I think he had probably breathed a huge sigh of relief

He might do if he is on a large majority. Doesn't give a fuck about your concerns comes to mind. Oh and I would bet a lottery win that he reads The Times.

Hi all

The fundraiser is rapidly heading towards £15k - an indication of the strength of anger this nonsense has aroused. It has attracted so many vile, hostile comments, it seems they've been turned off.

They disappeared yesterday. Shame - they were inspirational for all the wrong reasons Grin
It seems to have been quiet about it on the internet today.

The comments were at the bottom but were taken off. If you click on 'updates' it goes some way to explaining why.

Datun · 16/01/2018 21:01

Hi MariaMacLachlan

Glad to see you on here.

I think many women are donating little and often. Waiting for payday and doing it again. And again.

And again.
